Brown and Grey Slub Chambrays just popped up. I've got the brown and am incredibly happy with it...nice substantial shirt. Tempted by the grey... A little on the light side, but think it would be nice in the work shirt cut. I like having 2 pockets.

tempted on the brown slub. love the fabric, but think i'd rather have it in a style more similar to when taylor stitch offered it...which may never happen again.

They dropped Supple 16 too. Anybody have a previous run of those?

Call me a brand whore but I am not going to spend a $100 or more on a shirt without "Iron Heart" label on the chest for the next three months. With the Yen is at close to all time low, I am not going to miss out.

They dropped Supple 16 too. Anybody have a previous run of those? Yup. They are awesome, just outrageously comfortable. I love 'em. And even though I know this probably shouldn't matter to me nearly as much as it does, that double selvedge ID is f!@kin cool.

Any thoughts on potential Black Friday drops? Didn't they do like 5 quick rare drops for cheap last year? I may have to get in on one of them. Or 5 of them...

Not sure they did one on Thanksgiving day last year but I remember Gustin had one on Black Friday around late morning to noon PST. The selections were pretty basic and quantities were limited. The price was about 20-30% cheaper.

There doesn't seem to have been any new items dropped so far. A few previous run items have been refreshed.

I got a really nice email from Josh with some background on the company and a heartfelt thanks. It was like something I haven't seen him ever do before.
Because of that, I don't foresee any big drops today or tomorrow. Just my guess.

Solid new drops. Don't know how I feel about the City Coat cut yet but that grey wool is niiice.

I want to love the City Coat, I really do. I just can't deal with that lapel, though. *sigh* I think Gustin outerwear is always going to fall into the "close but no cigar" category for me.

Same as you Mattbert, this coat deserve to be loved, enough pockets so it's not too formal, amazing wool, nice inner pockets... But the lapels are bothering me too I might give it a try, i might...

Man, I love my Gustin denim but have come to realize their other offerings are not for me.
Taste can be incredibly subjective, so, obviously, this is just my opinion. For me, that coat looks bad. The length is way too short for the style and I think the peak lapels are a bad choice. In the pic it kind of looks like a grown man trying to fit into his junior high jacket.

I haven't purchased anything else besides denim. I do want to love the coat but it is just too short.

I think if it were two button, maybe, but totally agree that it's got the exact opposite design oddity from the workshirt. Swap the length of the two?

Why make a CPO longer than a blazer type coat? Or at least the length of the CPO.

That city coat is terrible.
But fellas, the Cone Blacks that they dropped today are a great deal at that price, plus they come with contrast stitching. I own the Cone Blacks in tonal and I am kind of tempted to get a pair today with contrast. I would highly recommend these.
The Black2s and Cone Blacks are Gs best two black denims, in that order. If you don't want to wait around for the Black2s or if you just want a black pair with a white weft and contrast stitching (which seems a bit of a rarity these days) at a great price then I would get these. They are very comfortable out of the bag as well, very soft and pajama like.

City Coat: Something about the material or fit makes it drape like a cross between a flannel pajama top, and a robe. Also, the puffiness of the patch pockets, not good.
This is why if you look at the Navy Canvas one, it looks 100 times better. Too bad I already have a 3 button navy sport coat in cotton or I might consider it.

Agreed, the canvas jacket looks much better, even if I'd prefer wool. Maybe it's time to pull the trigger on the psychedelic CPO.

Really awful in those pics.
