Best value for a Gustin denim in a long time.. save a few of the grab bags, I'm sure.

Someone looking to forray into a heavier weight denim would do themselves well to pick up the 17oz. These are a real bargain. I'm good on jeans myself, so not tempted, but are holding out for the heavyweight duck that is on the horizon. Sorry, I am getting spoiled and $81 for an 17oz jeans with no special details or customization is no longer a bargain in my book. Some people also needs to pay another $20 for hemming. I do think it is not expensive though. Wils, good point. I should have said it was a bargain for Gustin jeans, relative to their other offerings. When compared to other vendors, they don't seem to be the same bargain when you consider the options. I would have jumped on those in a heartbeat a year ago, but the game has changed.

The texture looks a bit nepy, no? I think those 17 oz look great. I shouldn't be backing another pair, but I just did.

Post what you DO like (and a few what you don't like Sorry, man. I was staring at about 12 pairs of Indigo jeans at home couple weekends back including brand new pairs of LVC, RRL and Lee's and I cannot see myself to buy another pair. The worst of all is I wear slack at work and my duck, chino and jeans are all competing for the other three days. None of my Indigo jeans get enough wear lately to have any fade because I keep wear the newest one until the next new one arrives. There are so many things (jacket, canvas, shirts, more shoes and more shoes) that I can spend money on today and Indigo jeans is definitely last on my list. edit. My favorite pair of jeans today is cianofarmer 20oz. All those details are just amazing and out of all the jeans I have so far (disclaimer: I don't have any jeans from Lawless or Iron Heart), this is the only Indigo I wear today. It's workmanship is not perfect but I can actually "feel" the work that put into the jeans. Not sure how I can explain it.... btw, I do the same thing with my boots... I have a problem.

That's where I'm at, and I only have 4 pair. Mine range from 15-26oz., so mostly depends on temp with what pair I wear. My shirt collection has grown quite a bit in the last year, and in good shape there. At this point, I really need to see something that knocks my socks off to buy it.

I am in luck since I got the first run of the loomies I wore them for almost a year and nothing else seemed worthy. Then I got the okas and now the LD and then the 18oz LD so I also kinda have too much indigo to fade. I would really love to fade the greysilk and the herringbone also but they are kinda nice grey so no hurry, and the silks are 12oz so they can rest until the summer. I also got the ixi that I soaked that got effed up so need to work on those. I feel this is enough, I need to work more on the loomies aswell they arent done yet. Upside is that Im keeping my Ironheart in the sweetzone between perfect and destroyed for longer So Im basically gonna jump on some superduper heavy when the right pair shows up, other then that im looking for some a little slubby like the loomie-feeling but sanforized, from japan. Else...its gonna have to be something pretty darn amazing if im gonna lift an eye at indigo for a while. Also want to use the naturals and some black Nudies and my khaki and navy chinos, and my rrl chinos. So there is no problem finding thigs to wear even tho i havent gone all crazy like you guys. I got some shirts because had very few so some money are spent there. I really feel I need to get more shirts first and a denim trucker. And maybe some more wool. Lots of things that I need more then indigo jeans. I am with wills on this. (team Grills?)

Ugh, the sewn-up sample of that funky Pendleton CPO looks so good. I don't want to be tempted by that thing again, though. Dammit, CPO. I wish I knew how to quit you! I love how the close up looks like static.

That said, these disgustingly nice wools they've found (this Pendleton and the original herringbone from Woolrich) are purdy enough that I might find myself willing to overlook the pocketpalooza someday. Ugh.

I've always thought there's a good chance you could pull any of the pockets off carefully with a seam ripper and there would be no evidence of previous stitching, especially in the more varied colors. This would only work when the shirt is fresh out of the bag new though. Going a step further, if you have a really good tailor, moving pockets isn't out of the question either. Yeah, it's a pain in the ass but if one these CPOs really hit the right spot for me I'd take a chance.
All EG/Gustin comparisons and pocket talk aside, the Gustin CPO seems like a fine option. I've got a regular mil issue CPO and that's good enough for me, however, if one of the G offerings really struck a chord, I'd back it and mod the pockets.

The arm pocket is my favorite part of the design. I don't like the scoops in a jacket, the black gussets look strange to me, but I still want one because of that stupid arm pocket. The price is the only thing keeping me out of one -- not that they're not pricing it fairly, it just exceeds what I'm willing to pay for another option since I have other more "classic" options that cover that need in my wardrobe. Still love the heather grey fabric, though, and that multi-color even more seeing it sewn up.

The buttons, less so. I just don't get putting those on a nice CPO. Not a fan of the sleeve pocket either, but I could live with the others.

Brown and Grey Slub Chambrays just popped up.
I've got the brown and am incredibly happy with it...nice substantial shirt. Tempted by the grey...
