@rex, I have to tell you man, if you didn't like the Pima Fires I think you will hate these brown organics. I had both the Brown and Charcoal organic hemps and I immediately returned them. When I saw the campaign I thought the same thing as you...oh these look freaking awesome, I have to get these! When they showed up I opened the bag and they were hideous. Honestly the ugliest jeans that Gustin has released imo. The streaky/slubby texture is so freaking intense in person that it gave me a headache to look at them. They just look silly imo. Granted these were the Organic Hemps so maybe they are a bit different but I would wager they aren't. just my two cents. I had the same reaction when I opened my brown organic hemps - "Oh man, who ever thought these would pass as pants?! All this vertical streakiness is really showing off how un-fit my thighs are". Then I wore them and I fell in love, and I don't even fully understand why or how. They are easy to match, really visually interesting, and look awesome with denim tops, so perhaps it's the role they play enabling my other favorite pieces. I wore them every day I could for months. If it weren't for Loomies and Zimb 18s these would probably still be my favorite pair, despite the fact that I had the same first impression you did. I'm guessing these are going to be very polarizing for most people, and given the price I can see a lot of people returning them right away. I think if you back them you need to be aware you're getting a statement piece, and if that's not your personality then you're probably signing yourself up for a $180 store credit. That's good...I wasn't going to buy them from G at that price either way, but now I don't feel like I am missing something. I already push the envelope in the office enough as it is. I don't need any more statement pieces. I thought the brown would be a good change, but I need to keep it toned down. Most of the guys in my office wear the same shoes every day and they typically don't match their belts. When I showed up with red wingtips (J&M Westmore Wingtips...I like those shoes) and a red belt, I caught hell...still catch hell for that. I continue to wear the red shoes, but the matching belt stays home.

I continue to wear the red shoes, but the matching belt stays home. I have a pair from the first run (the brown organics, not the hemps). They are admittedly a bit of a niche item in my wardrobe, but they pair very nicely with a casual sport coat. I pretty consistently get positive comments on them. Anyway, they were a good purchase for me, I like them. (Although I admit I bought into the initial hype of being a limited run of 40 pair, so mildly bummed now that it looks like G will be running them more routinely).

So one of my favorite combos is now up together in the store: Brown organic (I have the hemps) and PHB WS. I make a point to wear these together once a week with a flannel shirt.

thinking of giving the GUSTIN WS another shot with the Postal HB. Might try classic Medium or Large slim this time

Yeah, I'm quite tempted by Postal HB WS too but I'm not sure about the size. Classic medium fits me perfectly, but there's no room for shrinkage, so I don't know if I should size up for go with large slim.

I'm tempted by those greys. Seems like those have run before. Anybody have those and care to comment?

thinking of giving the GUSTIN WS another shot with the Postal HB. Might try classic Medium or Large slim this time I am wearing the fabric today, but in its incarnation as a pair of jeans from CF instead of a workshirt. I think it would make a spectacular shirt if done right. I am totally NOT a denim shirt guy, but I could be tempted to make an exception for this material someday. It is crazy comfortable and looks amazing once it's picked up some dust and must; really brings out the duskiness of the blue and gives it that vintage appearance while chilling out the stripey effect somewhat.

Gotta give the credit card a rest for a month or two, though. Got too many other expenditures on the immediate horizon. Damn you, Lord Gustin! EDIT: Oh yeah, if memory serves, jbreitenbucher has those Okie GxG and they looked great in his fit pics.

thinking of giving the GUSTIN WS another shot with the Postal HB. Might try classic Medium or Large slim this time based on how my slim XXL and slim XL came in, compared to my classic XL, I'd go slim. I'm also thinking of the postal just don't know think I want to put another $140 into Gustin right now with things like this ready to ship (understood chambray is not the same, just for example).

I'm tempted by those greys. Seems like those have run before. Anybody have those and care to comment? They definitely have a heather grey sweatpants appearance. I love the fabric, but have a hard time pairing it with anything, since the weight makes them appear kind of like five pocket wool trousers. If you tend to dress on the higher end of business casual, and get them hemmed, I think they'd work out really well.

I'd guess that this is close.

You will not regret getting a Postal HB, as I get more looks, and compliment from it than most everything else I have denim wise. I found that after I washed and dried mine on hot initially, I really didn't get any shrinkage, but it helped it to drape, and wear better. Haven't washed it since though.

Just backed the pink Oxford. Having $80 in credit took the sting out.

I'm almost tempted to get a second pair, but if you watch Barney's and some other places you might be able to get the same fabric in Naked and Famous jeans for less than the G price. I think they call it Arctic Selvedge.

Here they are with Wolverine 1K Courtlands and with Allen Edmond Brown Park Avenues I tend to wear them with a blue sport coat, brown tweed jackets, and a maroon tweed jacket.

Just backed the pink Oxford. Having $80 in credit took the sting out. That's how I ended up justifying the Italy Cashmeres. I know it doesn't actually make the thing cheaper, but it sorta feels like it at the time, right? It was either that or I was going to end up getting annoyed and just blowing it on a belt or a shirt that I didn't want.

Thanks for the greyxgrey pictures. It pushed me over the edge in backing them. I can't wear "jeans" to work but i can get away with brown black and now i hope grey.
As a side note.. the brown organics look freaking amazing in person. They are my favorite pair of jeans by far. But they are a unique pair of denim that might not tickle everyone's fancy.
