So the Tees went from $13 to $50? Well that escalated quickly.
I'm glad they have a new Oxford out but black isn't my thing. If they could time a pink one for spring I'd back in a heartbeat.

Yeah that bright plaid is sick!
I actually could maybe use a black oxford, I love their j oxfords, and they can be tucked. I was wearing my blue one today and went into a place that carries Gant, Hugo, Ralph and the likes and lol at the thin fabrics they have on their shirts that go for $300 a pop!
I also looked at the leathers from the fashion houses like Hugo and such and omg its so sad, they look like shait and they charge $1000 for them. If people only knew what they could get for that money.....I was actually looking for a peacoat and the only nice one were $650 so that was a little much (i think it was Acne)
So even if many of you think the G shirts are overpriced, I don't....just look at what similar items cost here (3-400). I just wish the fit were better and the QC imaculate then we would be talking real value!
I also saw a "red wine" oxford today in that shop, so it defenately seems like G is ontop of the fashion (or slightly after) since it was the exact same shade.

A $50 tee shirt? I guess if you can afford it why not but that's a bit pricey imo.

I don't disagree that 50 bucks is a lot for a T, but in GUSTINs defense this is a 7.5 oz T. That's pretty beefy and I'd say 99% of Ts out there today aren't even close to that weight (I'm probably wrong with that estimate but you get it).

ickes - I agree it's more substantial but really do you need a thicker heavier T?

Yes, I actually like thicker Ts especially for winter Thick cotton T's are silly if you're trying to stay warm, especially short sleeved ones. Wool or synthetic work a lot better and at least do a better job of justifying their price.

Wool or synthetic work a lot better and at least do a better job of justifying their price. From what I've seen 100% cotton seems to be touted as the gold standard, but I've seen expensive tees with rayon/nylon blends. As someone who knows very little about different materials, what's the go with synthetic blends?

Cotton is comfy, but once it's damp, it doesn't insulate. For casual dressing in cold weather, I prefer merino wool. Aether, Endura or Outlier make good long sleeve ones in white. Patagonia also makes good ones and some good synthetic base layers too.
I pirate lots of mine from ski and bike gear, so I do tend to size them tighter than a casual cotton t, but have been buying more in slightly larger sizes too.

ickes staying warm with a Cotton short sleeve t-shirt? $50 for a t-shirt is nuts. 12oz winter flannel, leather boots and nice raw denim I'll spend on but I draw the line at T's.

I was just saying that a 7.5 oz T is more expensive than your standard T. and yeah, a heavy T and heavy flannel in the morning...take off the flannel when afteenoon hits and its about high 50s to mid 60ish and sunny...where its a bit chilly but too warm for my IH flannel or thermal but a heavy T is about perfect. damn brahs, get off my back about it (i kid)...I'm not saying I throw on a heavy T and head up to Flagstaff to go skiing in it or something. I just like them for sunny "winter" afternoons in Phx.

Synthetic blends hold the shape of the fabric better over time and can also wick the moisture away. Personally, I prefer 100% cotton for casual use and merino or synthetics for technical gear or sports.

Gustin must be accepting more returns than usual knowing they will be able to sell them in the stock store - smart business move IMO and good for folks who miss out on backing something.

Not just returns, but allowing cancels as well. Before, I had to give a reason why I was canceling an item, but this time around, they just cancelled it no questions asked.

I backed a 50 dollar tee. I also sized down because I want it tight. I go clubbing sometimes and I want ZERO loose fabric when I dance. Heavy fabric, tight, just past the belt line. Perfect tee for hitting then club, getting bottle service and poaching some hotties while throwing moves on the floor. So cash.
Oh, wait. Totally kidding. That was fun to type though.

Steve - you made me laugh but I knew you were joking when you said you wanted it tight. I think we're around the same age and I can't do tight and didn't think you would either. Tight clothing makes me feel like a sausage.

Brah we all know you need a super deep V to hit the club with. True story though I have an interesting group of friends. 25-29yo not exactly good with money. Love express jeans and fresh express fitted shirts and of course enjoy a good club. I meet them out and wear a suit, tie, blazer etc. Always something nice. Never will I understand the express T's. Ever.

I just bought six short sleeve and one long sleeve American Apparel organic cotton tees for a whopping grand total of $52.80 and free shipping. So needless to say, I will not be backing a $50 Gustin tshirt.
