Sorry if my my posts regarding my received jeans seemed slightly negative. I was a bit disappointed that they came in the wrong fabric but I decided to keep them and begin to really like them. I knew that Lawless know how to make jeans as the 18.5 oz I received a while ago is one of my favourite pairs. This one is definitely my lightest (I think they are 11 oz.). If the german summer decides to be really hot this year I will have a pair of jeans to wear I tried to take some pictures but my 17 months old daughter had her own plans. I'm still not totally sure what the fabric is. I thought it was Candiani but I found a pair of Levi's that seems to be made of the same fabric. Does Levi's use Candiani? www.ebay.de/itm/Levis-522-Slim-Taper-Virginia-Range-Selvage-Jeans-Unwashed-RRP-99-99-/291361421343?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item43d67e781f

Yes, it looks like the one from the Lawless Kickstarter campaign, but it doesn't stretch. And it also looks like this which says 12 oz and 100% cotton.

I think if I were a betting man, I'd bet on it being whatever Gustin used, since official report from Gustin was that theirs was 100% cotton. Maybe Candiani did a couple different runs with the wide pink selvedge, in both 100% cotton and the 98%. I will say that you'd have to get me in a room with Bill Cosby before I'd accept that the Levi's denim is the same fabric that Lawless shipped you -- though it does match that swatch from the Lawless KS campaign.

Hmm - it is getting a bit off topic now but i found something that indicates Levi's could be using Candiani. Weird. I'm gonna call Bill Cosby now.

I would agree that the red selvedge ID candiani looks like the red selvedge ID that Levi's has on those jeans. What I'm not agreeing with is that that red selvedge ID matches the wide Pink ID on the lawless jeans. Both Candiani, but different fabrics.

The ID on my Lawless jeans doesn't look pink at all. It looks exactly like the ID on the Levi's.

I predict LD threads start to transition from "where is my order" to "what is this they sent me?"

So today marks the day that i finally got, partially, my Lawless order, number 281, after 5 months. Thankfully the pair of jeans that i got so far, i ordered 3 got 2, fit and are according to what i asked. Pics follow, sorry for the broken mirror!!! What i ordered: 1 x 18.5 oz. Kuroki Mills Indigo Selvedge Men's Jeans (Fit: Slim Straight, Waist: 34, Inseam (inches): 32, Hardware: Brass, Thread Color: Copper, Denim Tag: Koi, Jeans Fly: Button Fly, Pocket Liner: Black & White Canvas, Chain-Stitch Hem: Double Chain-Stitch Hem) These were not delivered until now 1 x 13.5 oz. Kaihara Light Indigo Selvedge Men's Jeans (Fit: Slim Taper, Waist: 34, Inseam (inches): 32, Hardware: Copper, Thread Color: White, Denim Tag: Katana 2, Jeans Fly: Button Fly, Pocket Liner: White Canvas, Chain-Stitch Hem: Single Chain-Stitch Hem), 1 x 14.5 oz. Looks pretty good. The backpockets looks bigger now, how are they? I like the color of the blue pair, a little uncertain of the thought of the white/black but looks fine from here.

I don't recall why i choose the white one but fortunately i don't dislike it, i'm just not used to it yet! But overall having the fit that i wanted is what made my day! The pockets for me are fine, they are 0.2 inch smaller than a Gustin pocket, but my Gustin wallet (for comparison) fits pretty well there, and has some space left.

Finally got my order in and I have been following this whole saga for a while now, so I'm happy to be leaving this review. (It ended up being stupid long so I tried to essentialize it as much as possible.) I placed my order on Nov. 3rd, it was in the mid 300's: 1 x 12 oz. Cone Mills Indigo Double Selvedge Men's Jeans (Fit: Straight Leg, Waist: 32, Inseam (inches): 34, Hardware: Gun Metal, Thread Color: Red, Denim Tag: Katana 2, Jeans Fly: Button Fly, Pocket Liner: Pink houndstooth Canvas, Chain-Stitch Hem: Double Chain-Stitch Hem) The Good: - I'm really happy with how they turned out. - They seem to have fulfilled every detail from the original order, including the houndstooth liner, red thread, etc. that I was sure wasn't coming. (Interestingly, they called me around week 15 to tell me they were going to use some green weft denim, but it seems they found something identical or almost identical to the original.) - The "Bad" and the "Ugly" (below) are, paradoxically, what actually what got me to this forum, and I'm happy to have found it. The Bad: - Wait time, obviously. - Shipped to wrong address that Sal had corrected for me months ago. Had to FedEx them to myself. - Waist is a little tight, but that is easily resolvable and probably my fault anyways. The Ugly: - The way in which the backlog was handled, specifically in regard to customer relations. Can't speak for others, but I know if I had gotten an email that said 1) "We're backed up because we got WAY more order than ever intended and it's going to take 20-30 weeks," and 2) "We're not going to be able to fulfill X orders with Y specifics, so please reselect from Z options," it would have pretty much been a non-issue. For $50 I sure wasn't going to complain. (I realize some people had much larger orders.) - The sometimes pedantic and patronizing way in which the company chose to respond to customers, often on public forums - the lectures about how quality takes time, the infamous Ferrari comparison, etc. (And I totally think the trolling they received was unjustified, but as a business I'd think you HAVE to take the higher road.) Also, I have to admit, I was hardly engaged in this whole debacle until I accidentally noticed - and I swear I noticed this by accident without direct investigation - that one day one of the employees had changed their name on Facebook and started leaving reviews. After hours and hours of reading, I understand why, but holy shit it looked bad from a passing, outsider's perspective. Overall: As others have stated, I'm a bit torn. I'm honestly more upset with others' experiences much more so than my own. On the one hand, if they go deadstock in the future I would definitely consider buying more. On the other hand, they burned so many people without any seeming remorse that the brand has left a bad taste in my mouth. With that said, check it out:

Hey, you didn't end up with strawberry ice cream pockets! Good review, hope you enjoy. I'm looking forward to getting mine in the fall sometime. That way if they come earlier, I can have a pleasant surprise.

I'm glad I just picked white pocket bags (lack of imagination, I know). If they run out of that...

cbiscuit we picked similar options. I went with red bags though. The red stitching is growing on me.

And in regard to the stitching, I have to admit I was unsure about it, but couldn't be happier now that I have them. I was admittedly looking for something different from what I had and with a little bit of a "pop" to them. A buddy of mine gave my a stinging eye roll when I told him about it, but when he saw them in person he did a total reversal. I really think it just goes super well with the denim. (Although I can't really tell yet if they're black or just super dark blue....will have to take them into the sun tomorrow.) I have the blackXred Italians from Gustin and the color contrast reminds me of that a bit. I really am quite happy with it.

I wasn't sure I'd even wear them after opening. I'll have to give them a spin and see now though.

Your photos reminded me of something I keep meaning to mention... unlike every other brand I have had experience of, Lawless have, for some reason, decided to use the pattern side of the pocket bag material for the inside of the pockets. It's really strange because nobody ever really sees the inside of the pocket bags and yet you do see the outside of the pocket bags whenever the jeans are taken off or put on. Something else I noticed (that doesn't make much sense) is that my pocket lining material is the black & white striped canvas. On the rear pockets and watch pocket lining they've run it vertical and yet on the two front pocket bags they've run it horizontal. Doesn't bother me - and I do really like the pockets material against the black denim pair I have - but it just puzzles me why they weren't consistent throughout.

Interesting point. I just checked all my pockets and everything seems to be in the same direction. Wouldn't be surprised if we're just seeing some of the idiosyncrasies of the individuals who actually piece everything together. Although I'd have to assume that's one the principal concerns a company like this looks out for.

Mine all run the same direction (vertical stripes, internal).

Yeah, if I were making the jeans I'd run the pattern the same for all linings. Guess the person who made my pair thought differently. My second order specified the pink houndstooth so it's encouraging to see that looks good in cbiscuit's photos.
