As we head towards the last working day of the week before the Easter break, it struck me earlier how naive and innocent we all were when thinking that the Christmas holiday break might delay our early November orders by a week or so... as it turns out, the general revolving of the Earth is all it takes to ensure Lawless orders are delayed for half a year. heh...i was just telling my g/f the other day that when i placed my orders in early november i expected to have them for winter. not necessarily by christmas, but perhaps not long after. by easter was obviously more appropriate for my first order. i'll shoot for memorial day (may 25) for my 2nd.

Something to do with Jesus, I'm led to believe.

For us northmen its about the start of spring and new life, fertile grounds and the possibillity to grow food. Egg is a symbol of life anew. Someone wanted it to be about Jesus aswell so they merged it.

Another day of unanswered email, yet LD&Co still find time to update it's facebook. Sigh...... I'm anxiously waiting our email they said would be coming this evening. Should get it in a few weeks. DigDug was the email all you hoped it would be?

I think we can safely assume that most people living in this day, and age, associate Easter, with the ressurection of Christ.

I just read the Production Update (today's email) from LD and there is not a single mention of Ferraris! Where is the cross branding? Where is the exclusivity?
p.s. just so you know, I'm never letting that Ferrari thing go. It's going to be a long running joke.

Well let's not get on the topic of religious beliefs in here cause that's one thing that can absolutely kill a thread ...but seriously I didn't know people took days off for Easter. I had never heard of an Easter break is all I was sayin.

(And despite what I just said, people aren't taking the day off for Easter. That's Sunday. People are taking today off for Passover/Good Friday. That's today.)

I had never heard of an Easter break is all I was sayin. In the UK, Good Friday and Easter Monday are both designated Bank Holidays (which basically means most people have the day off in addition to their annual leave allowance). Tends to kill off the Thursday before and Tuesday after as well. So, yeah, that Lawless email update - they're still acting as if anyone's really able to wear Lawless clothing.

The stock market is pretty much one of the only entities in the US that closes down completely on Good Friday. Most banks and even the Postal Service are operational...though some places operate under reduced hours. I haven't heard of any US businesses closing on the following Monday. We relish in our adherence to long work hours/days/weeks even as other countries work fewer hours while maintaining productivity levels.

Ah, I miss the Easter break. And the May bank hols* even more. And, most of all, the 5+ weeks annual leave I had in the UK compared to the 3 weeks I have now. Of course, living in London I had no money to actually do anything with all my time off work. But still... * Despite the fact that Sod's Law seemed to apply to the weather on those days more often than not. It was, at least in theory, a wonderful time of year to not have to be at work.

Actually, my wife works for a regional insurance company, that has been in business for over 100 years, and they have Good Friday off, but I would bet there aren't many other companies that do this.

My takeaway from the email is that prices will have to seriously drop again if they are killing off the custom (or most of it). There is no way the new ready-to-wear jeans will be worth $148 for every single denim (maybe for some rare denims), and they will have to do a much better job of nailing the fit guide.

Especially while trying to maintain enough production to justify 2 factories (not to mention offset the costs to build out the 2nd). Sometimes it seems like the the shortsighted leading the blind

I don't see this price hike sticking. You can buy shirts, and jeans all day long at these prices, and you'll get them quickly, and will probably fit. Roman used to be here preaching about "quality" first, and foremost, and we've seen that is not always the case. The turn-around times are still getting longer, with no handle on it in the near term. Honestly, who would pay today's pricing, knowing what your in for, unless you've had you head in the sand.

For whatever reason I didn't get the email, any chance of a brief summary?
