Hey Brothers, after having wore my jeans for a week solid, Thought I'd update you on them. Still love them out of the bag measurements: Waist 32.5 Inseam 34 front rise 9.75 back rise 14.25 Thigh 11 Knee (measured 15" down from crotch) 7.75 hem or cuff opening 7 updated measurements: waist perfect 33" inseam 33.5 (the 1/2" reduction here, I believe,is from the honeycombs setting in) front rise 9.75 back rise 14.25 Thigh 12.25 (from the crotch out at a 90degree angle) thigh 2, 11.5 (measured 2" down from crotch) knee 7.75 hem 7.25 So these have relaxed about 1/2" in the important measurements, waist and thigh, and fit to perfection for me! To further my review, even at a light 12oz, with the wax coating, these are every bit as stiff and seem almost as heavy as my 16ers. The combs, whiskers, stacks are setting in nicely. The black rivets on the right pocket are showing some copper, I really dig this, as it shows wear I saw that Dirty_Denim , had asked about the rear pocket stitching, so I went over mine with a fine tooth comb, There are no issues. Now for the QC that is obviously in place... On my heritage front pocket stitching, I can tell that they were stitched with a triple stitch on the front pockets originally, and that they started to put a double chain stitch at the hem, this only goes about 3/4 of the way across the hem on the left leg. I can tell this, because the wax shows where the needle went through. (I ordered a single chain stitch) I'm very happy to see these things, and happy to report to you all, that QC is working, and Roman seems to have a good QC system in place, seeing that this was caught before they went out the door. All were caught, threads removed and corrected EDIT: I'll try to post some updated pics sometime this weekend EDIT2: after thinking some more about the heritage front pockets...They might purposely put a triple stitch first, so they have a reference for the "points" for the heritage stitch, so that they come out perfectly matching on both sides

Guys - I'm slightly back, so I'll show you what it's like to have the annoying old man back. I'm asking your community 2¢ here. Do we want to keep the reviews threads strictly for reviews, or allow the chatter as seen here? I just want to make sure this is usable for folks looking for actual reviews. Let me know what you think. Mattbert - well done. You crack me the f*ck up sometimes...needed that. Jeanses look great. Put 'em on though and take some more pics please.

Put 'em on though and take some more pics please. that's a tough one. i don't see much difference between 'new arrivals' and 'reviews' in terms of how people will write about their new products. i think there will either be a lot of duplication or a complete split with some in one and some in the other. i think the chatter will tend to happen in either as people start to comment on (and in some cases compare, lament, or covet) the reviews posted.

A wet dream would be posting the (or copying) actual review and pics into a forum thats called reviews with subforum of bottoms and tops (new sub for shirt, jacket). People should thenpost new reviews and pics into that.

Let me know what you think. I think regardless of where you put them, poeple are going to chatter back and forth on the reviews. Something like how the Gustin forums ran might work, but with the Lawless model it almost just needs to be "jeans" "chinos" "Oregon Shirt" etc. People can post the fabric they ordered, options they chose, pics and how they feel about it. If you wanted to be a stickler, keep new arrivals, and people can say "hey, got ___________, check out my review in the reviews section: <link>", and then new arrivals becomes a review aggregation, linking out to the reviews.

Old26 hey brother, hope all is well. I agree with david, maybe we could merge the 2 threads. Some of the chatter, I think, is just that a lot of us are still used to the live feed type forum we were used to at Gustin. I agree with you wanting to keep the review thread relevant for actual reviews, so that they don't get buried, but how to draw the line, without being too heavy handed...I just don't know how it can be done. It might take an effort on each individuals' part to try and reduce the chatter, and to keep threads on topic and viable. idk...my humble 2 cents EDIT: I'm just as guilty as anyone as far as chatter.

How about let's all try to keep the chatter to a minimum. Discuss the review, but keep outside stuff clear and make them relevant. I sure don't want to go DenimBro on anyone, just want to make the place useful as well as fun...thanks for the feedback.

I'm a fan of emergence, so I kind of like how the conversation meanders a bit. I can see how this would be unwieldy for those looking for the unique opinions about particular clothing items, though. Perhaps there's a better tool for this, though. Badgerandblade.com has a review section that I believe is a good start on something that may work here. I think it's a canned feature of vBulletin and allows for reviews of specific products to be cataloged and viewed quickly and easily. It also allows quantified ratings to allow for easy comparison of important characteristics. The issues for us, though, will be images and lengthy descriptions. It would be cool to have the B&B style list of reviews that contain the quantified ratings and a summary of the product that can link to a more comprehensive review.

Yeah.. this is certainly doable, too =) I don't think anyone'd gripe if they were told to keep chatter or "nice review!" comments to a minimum by a mod.

These are my "promo" jeans. This is exactly what I told Roman when I ordered them: 18oz Kuroki Indigo, standard brown thread, brass buttons, and a sunset patch. True waist - 36" I like raws to start out snug, I know they stretch. Inseam - 34" (true inseam is 30, but I like to stack/cuff) Style - straight fit. I guess you could say Levis 501 type fit if that makes sense. They measure up like this: waist - 36" front rise - 10.5" thigh -23" knee - 16.5" cuff - 16" inseam - 31.5" For comparison, a recent Gustin Black 2 size 35 straight measures like this after about 10 wears: waist - 37" front rise - 11.5" thigh - 25" knee - 18.5" cuff - 18" inseam - 36" My first impression is that the denim itself is very nice. The fit is slimmer than I would like, but I did tell Roman that I like my jeans to start out snug and stretch. But by the measurements it looks like I got a slim straight. In the future I will order straight. I was intending these to be more of a work jean, but in the slimmer cut they will end up being a dressier jean. My wife said they look nice and I also asked my 14 year old daughter if they were too skinny/hipster. She said they're fine. I like the triple stitch inseam. I'm also in the camp of liking the double chain stitch more than I expected. I wish I had more inseam to work with for cuffing/stacking. I think all of the construction looks very well done. Here are some pictures. Be kind on the fit pics! I took the pictures in direct, weak New England winter sun. The fit pics are taken outside in the shade. Especially with these early reviews, I think we should encourage the chatter.

They are definitely snug, and as you said, how you ordered them. I think they're going to look killer once they're broken in and loosened up a little in the top block. Good to hear that the construction is, once again, solid.
..let us know how they start feeling after they've broken in a bit! =)

univibe88; Thanks for the review and pics. The jeans look great, I am super stoked to get my 18.5 oz in after seeing all the pics of them so far. I prefer a looser fit personally, but they look great man!

The jeans look very nice. I think the jeans fit likes a skinny jeans, especially the waist and thigh. I don't think it will stretch to be a slim straight but can be a slim taper. Give them timw.

I am generally not fond of open Weave but ordered these aswell because of the weight. Im not sure what i feel about the fabric but the construction looks very Nice! I cant wait for mine!
I think they look very snug and if you plan on wash often then it might become a little uncomfy. If you plan of wear for long before wash (say yes) then they could be very good! My loomies are supersnug after wash but after some wear fit best of all my g's.
Thanks for the pics!

They definitely fit me like skinny jeans, but I have tree trunk thighs! With so many pairs of jeans I hope I can give these the time they need. It might depend on how much the wifey really likes them

Especially with these likely to be a dressier jean, they may never get washed.

The jeans look great, but with your tree trunks, I'd likely go with a different, more full cut. I love that denim, and it's nice to see what's coming from LD! Those 18'ers are the faves in my stable.

Yeah lil tight for now. I'd be more worried about the length of the inseam getting any shorter. At least a 33" inseam wouldve been more on the safe side. Guess you shouldnt have even mentioned your true inseam and you might have got the 34, who knows?
Love the last two reviews because they're basically previews of the similar options i chose for the jeans I ordered. I think I done good.

Yeah that's why I wear straight cut in Gustins. I wouldn't have ordered these this slim on purpose. But maybe they'll loosen up a bit and be quite nice.

I want to be constructive here, and I certainly hope you won't be offended my friend ...The knee down looks like they are a straight fit, but, because you didn't give Roman your true size, from the knee up, looks way too small. That said, I understand that your going for stretch, but, I keep tellin' you guys that Roman and team take stretch/give into consideration, depending on the denim you choose. I think you'd be happier with them if you would have used your true waist size. I Hope the jeans will stretch out to where you want them univibe88 , I do hope I haven't offended, that was not my intention, and I hope your not mad at me. Either way, if your happy, then I'm happy for you bud EDIT I do thank you for your review and the pics
