Balance will be made, eventually... We definitely realize we are in a funk right now though. I blame the lack of sunlight, lol.
Btw, we're not in London... 😔😔
Out in the countryside, near one of the American bases. But, London is a difficult city. Though it's only 2hrs away, I feel like we have to make a weekend trip out of it, just to begin to understand the vibe of it. We tried a day trip, and it was discouraging

Yeah, rural England, or at least not London, Edinburgh or Manchester can be a little dire. Indian food will keep you sane.

Good only if you are tall with lower upper body mass and a belly. I found many of the Jcrew and Gap shirts have better material and fit. Not trying to be pedantic here but I disagree on both counts. The G blue oxford has better cloth, and better fit for me than all my JC**Ws. Now I wear XLT in JC**W and XXLT in G. The cloth has a better hand, wrinkles less, and lays better without creasing or bunching. I wouldn't hit a dead dog in the rear with a GAP shirt. My JC**W OCBD's Red, Green, Purple, Black I am 5'9" with 39 chest with 30.5 waist... and short legs. I can bearly fit in the arm holes and chest of my G's regular medium. From the chest down, it looks like I am wearing a blouse. If I go up one size to a large, the sleeves are too long. Regarding materials, I just like the way some of my Gaps and Jcrews shirt drap better than my G's. Btw, I was talking about shirts in Oxford material and not OCBD specific.

England..... I foolishly thought The U.K. would be as awesome as Europe (Germany, specifically) was. Architecture, people, food, weather..... Everything is "grey", lol Yep. I'm not a superfan at all though I am probably going back in the Spring. Married someone with family there. I don't know where the US bases are but I have driven through the area around Stonehenge several times (relatives lived near there for a few years) and the tank crossing signs crack me up. I'm tall, so the old school houses etc. don't fit me well. The damp sucks too. London is nice enough but I have had some really nice times near Malbrough in the country by the uh, vertical rocks who's name escapes me at the moment. Was there near harvest time a couple years ago, lovely rolling hills.

I highly recommend Taylor Stitch's "Jack" cut as well as their mechanics cut. The collar shape is wonderfully done and looks very flattering. I have multiples of both. Been waiting for them to come out with more interesting Jack fabrics.

Everything is "grey", lol You've got a few more months, but it will pick up. I've worked in London and Frankfurt and like aspects of both, but would pick London over anywhere in Germany except maybe Munich. I have spent the most time in Europe in those two cities and I definitely pick Munich over London. The wife and I have talked about Munich as a landing place for a second home, but man, Real Estate has gone crazy over there.

Yeah, not much cheaper than Switzerland now. Belgium remains reasonably cheap, and Spain, particularly Basque Country remain pretty enticing for secondary/retirement property.
Part of me wants to just buy in Glasgow though, I love that gloomy hell hole.

Been meaning to get to Scotland for years. Never made it North of Leeds.
