My wife would like a softer style on me. Less Denin, Canvas Work Wear look and more of a cut and sewn TShirt, sneaker, softer look. I'm just not sure exactly what that is I guess less IH, Tellason, Rogue Territory and more JCrew How can I soften my look and blend or incorporate more fun and less biker/worker/military style?

ughh, sneakers
I did read recently that Euro tailored fashion is the new IT look for men.
Good luck with finding a happy medium.

Could it be something as simple as a t-shirt, chinos, and a pair of low-top converse all-stars? I tend to wear that when the weather warms up and it's a pretty easy fit for most occasions. You could also mix in some short sleeved patterned button downs in a lighter fabric or a lower profile chukka boot. Just a few things to ponder. And...if you really needed to soften up, i guess you could get some washed denim

I own about 1/2 of my button ups in Westerns/workwear and the other half in more classic one pocket, button down collar/spread collar; So depending on the venue/my mood, I can go more rugged--heavy denim, shit kicker boots, yoked western shirts, etc or go more office business casual--fitted slacks, shoes, untucked oxford, etc, or go more towards the "street look"--sneakers, hoodie, lightweight jeans etc. While I can appreciate @untucked 's approach of one style for all things, I enjoy the versatility of mixing and matching genres depending on the changing circumstances. Maybe this will change with time and I will have my style distilled down to a more homogeneous harmony, balanced with my day to day needs. DigDug maybe if your wife gives you some pictorial examples of what she envisions, you'll have a better idea?

I don't subdivide my wardrobe in to work/play, night/day. All pieces are fair game at all times and occasions (Obviously, with the exception of dressy occasions)

Do you find yourself emptying one particular genre out of your wardrobe more than others during your collection size down?

Well, I guess we all know that my wardrobe is MOSTLY Iron Heart, so by default, that's what's mostly moving out. But, even after the clean-out is done, I will STILL have majority IH in my closet/wardrobe

Medium weight slim casual shirt, "tonal" slim fit jeans/slim chino (navy or black), and a pair of Common Projects/Adidas-Raf Simon sneakers. Outerwear will be either wool shirt jacket or if I want to go formal, I will be wearing my Engineering Garment Bedford jacket. 2. Thick hoodie, long sleeve t-shirt, black/grey slim sweatpant and a pair of Adidas NMD or Ultraboost. I really don't wear work boots, heavy jeans (over 14oz) and not heavy shirt anymore.

DigDug hmm I would just wear simple colored tees and jeans/chinos (maybe incorporate it once a week) so it slowly keeps her off you to do a style change. Is this what I have to look forward to when I get married next year lol? If anything I will tell my future wife to stop wearing leggings always, I miss her wearing jeans like when we was first dating.

I don't mind my woman in denim but I specifically bought her more yoga pants just to enjoy the view at home.

Other chicks wearing leggings/yoga pants is no problem haha. It's like i don't wear sweatpants to a steakhouse dinner (even though its good for the stomach gains).

Just buy her a bunch of the awful Taylor Stitch women's stuff. That should keep her from looking for any style advice from you ever again.
