Impressively Maniacal... At least I feel my purchases are becoming more focused--filling specific gaps in my arsenal--but yeah, I'm still going buck, lol And I did stumble into more free time, as of late, than I'm used to--hence the increased postings--but all good things, as you know, must come to an end. Well I just bought a JC**W Blue overcoat this morning for < $200 shipped. This fills a hole in my coat lineup. And thats what I think it is, as you go deeper into this rabbit hole, the real challenge is to buy to fit what you need and will use. If you can buy cheap and what you need and can use, even better. Hell I about lost it last month when the TS Chamois shirt new showed up in my inbox for $50 shipped. Gotta buy that! In other news, apparently wide pants are in now so I guess I gotta sell all my slim tapers and start over? Yes, from buying 'cool' things that may be useful, to buying things to use--that hopefully are still cool! I did read that DieWorkWear article on baggy pants. That guy writes well and I enjoy his perspective, even though I'm not resurrecting my Hammer pants anytime soon (checks that my 'crazy legs' dance moves aren't too rusty) I'm also am getting over the idea of I must buy this now or it wont be here and I'll be kicking my self later...(doesn't apply to the IH Rakuten abnormality--buy now!) That false sense of imediacy is an emotional response, I now know--if it really is that special, they'll re-run it (or their competitors will ).

These days i'm buying less, even though I still get a trigger finger now and then. I'm currently trying to replace certain items for better, well made, higher quality goods. But it can be hard, especially when i know something like a JCF Chino or OCBD will fit me perfectly off the rack and can be replaced anytime if they shrink or stain or something else. So i'm trying to slowly get out of that pattern and into more selective purchasing.

It is hard to ignore the good deals on MiC stuff, but practice certainly helps.

I find that I go in waves on my clothes shopping. I've been doing more purging/donating of older/unworn items and selling off denim I don't wear. I have treated myself recently to a few nicer pairs (Tanuki and PBJ LHT) that I want to focus my time on. I'm on the fence with a pair of Truman's at the moment.
Honestly, the easiest way for me to not spend on clothes is to refocus on other "needs". Time to build another mountain bike.

Haha, same, starting to amass build components for an overblown Evil bike. Also starting to eyebal watches again. Somehow avoiding the new car bug though, nice that fewer and fewer cars are available with a manual transmission, keeps me from wanting much.

Somehow avoiding the new car bug though, nice that fewer and fewer cars are available with a manual transmission, keeps me from wanting much. My 4Runner just hit 100k, I've got at least another 100k on that. I did opt for swapping out the head unit for the GPS nav version. That sufficed me for that itch. Although, an old Jeep CJ keeps creeping back on my radar. I'm eyeing up a 29er build btw. Looking at 2016 shop demo models to start with something built and simply add to it. This isn't going to help this weekend however.

Just retaped my 29er wheels and got them beaded up solid with hooptie tires and a large amount of Stans. Hoping to get a little dirt this weekend.

And the kicking myself, well that takes practice too. My senses are getting better honed as to when to pounce. My difficulty remains that sizes on the upper end of spectrum are not as likely to last long enough to go on sale so it's a fine line sometimes between full retail and appropriate sale waiting.

I bought the Norelco 5100 beard trimmer the other day. dialed the setting in too short and damn near shaved off all of the hair on my face. back to square one. I have the older version of this. I learned my lesson about the settings when I first got it lol

Also, need new leathers since i sold all of it two years ago. i'm hoping to get through most of the Summer before I have to buy a new set for my Ultra Classic. I'm diligent about keeping the tires properly inflated, and will end up getting about 20,000 mi on this last set. Most neglected aspect on bikes according to my mechanic buddy.

Got my IH thermal henley, and 13 blk today. Very impressed with the thermal. The body length, and arms are perfect, and I likes how the collar runs a little higher so when buttoned up all the way, it gives a little extra neck protection. The chambray seems kinda light to me, but I guess its because I'm used to heavier shirts. The fit is good, but the wrists seem small compared to any other IH shirt I have, but for the Rakuten price, its a keeper. If I had to pay full Johnny, I'd probably send it back.

Did you go with your normal IH shirt size on your Henley? Heck no. All my shirts are XXXL, and I went with an XL on the Henley. Worked out perfect, as it hugs the body, but not constrictive in any way. I think if the XXL Henley fit a person well, then none of their other shirts would fit. Heck, the XXL would fit Old26 no problem, and he can't wear an IH shirt.

Great looking shoe with some really cool leather. Nice score Thanks. Yeah, I saw that top embossed pattern and loved it. My immediate thought after that was "why don't they (or others) do it more often?". I'll post the group of Yuk's together when I get them. Today was shoe day and I .......... re spot waxed my waxed flesh boots. Yeah, I like them better waxed!

Today was shoe day and I .......... re spot waxed my waxed flesh boots. Yeah, I like them better waxed! what did you use on your waxed flesh? trying to decide whether i want to do minimal maintenance on mine (brushing only) as i've been doing...or apply some product to keep them from going full rough-out

And fully waxed flesh repels water thus fulfilling a primary purchase decision (vs. fashion appearance). TADA! I was at opening day half buzzed and tilted sideways for some reason with an open bottle of beer in my hand. I spilled a little on my right boot and was like duh drunk amazed at the beer shooting off my shoe at an angle. Simple minds.

Yeah, I like them better waxed! what did you use on your waxed flesh? trying to decide whether i want to do minimal maintenance on mine (brushing only) as i've been doing...or apply some product to keep them from going full rough-out I used SNO SEAL, a hairdryer, a rag, and some latex gloves. Next time I do it I'll probably nuke a bit of snow seal to make the process slightly easier. Heat the area to be treated with the hairdryer. - Rub a slight bit of sno seal on the heated area (get it on thin or it's more problematic and will look like ass)
Hit the area with sno seal with the hairdryer allowing it to soak in. Smooth the sno seal with your glove hand. Reapply heat to area. Wipe excess away with rag.
You may have to reapply if you put too much on or it gets gloppy and does not match the rest of the leather. I found a standard hairdryer on high was warm enough to do the trick with a bit of effort and not disturb the factory wax impregnation. Also, buy the smallest size Sno Seal available. A little goes a long way, I could touch up countless waxed flesh boots with the small tub of Sno Seal I bought. And FWIW, I have been wiping down with a wet rag vs. brushing.

I've done pretty well so far this year. I feel like my purchases are a lot less impulse buys so far. (author's note: I thought i had done well, but then the list kept growing) TS Corded Indigo Utility Shirt - returned for store credit. (Technically purchased in 2016) TS Jack in Indigo Stripe - should be shipping this week Gustin 3 Pack tshirts - very surprised. These fit like a glove. Will be buying more when needed. Brave Star Selvage Chino - very awesome pants. Exchanged for a larger size so that i can wash/dry without worry. These are heavy and durable, almost too warm for summer but will work great on the jobsite. Love the taper on these. Nike running shoes - haven't bought runner/trainers in a long time. Not really into "street wear" but these have that vibe so i can wear with joggers or a pinroll in a casual setting as well. Teva flip flops - replacing some old worn out pairs. These are great and only $25 and my latest purchase: a pair of Rancourt Ranger Mocs in natural Horween Essex. Saw them in disheveled 's WAYWT post and couldn't stop thinking about them. I needed a good pair of casual shoes that weren't boots or sneakers. Love the toned down appearance that the cup sole adds and the chance to see them age and darken naturally over time.
