The Shelton is damn pretty. And linen does shrink a lot so take that into account. I just grabbed the red flannel and houndstooth jacket. Pictures to follow soon.

the checkstripe looks weird to my eyes. not sure I dig the elbow patches and the pocket within a pocket look.

I buy large. Their sizing varies quite a bit. The large on the vintage stripe was ridiculously long and I returned it. In retrospect I probably should have warm washed it since it was a linen blend and it would have fit great. The large rail stripe fits amazingly. The Japanese stripe fits baggier but not terrible. Probably what most people on this forum are comfortable with.
Edit: I realized I didn't answer your question. I buy TTS. Slim large with Gustin, 42 with Taylor Stitch and Momotaro.

And yeah, some of the details are taste specific. I personally love the elbow reinforcements and the pocket within a pocket has a better effect when worn. The two hidden buttons aren't really my thing though.

And here is a peak of the rail stripe. I'll post pics that showcase it better later.

I wear a large across most brands but of course it varies. i'm 5'11, 175 lbs, 34.5" waist and 38-40" chest and I wear a medium in the Filson Seattle fit cascade shirt. But, there are brands like J.Crew where their standard large shirts fit a little big on my frame, whereas a slim large might work better. but overall, it's size large across the majority of brands. the railstripe looks pretty cool paired with the the jacket and chinos (I presume). I think it's the contrasting colors that make it work.

PA school and age has been chipping away at my former martial artist leanness. I also wear a medium in the cascade shirt (I don't own it but tried it on the last time I stopped at Filson). Those are actually not chinos, they are the Gustin down town brown. IMO brown denim doesn't get enough attention. It goes so well with indigo denim and chambray shirts.

I don't see the downtown Browns come up often at Gustin. They look interesting for sure They're pretty great, and fund very quick. They're more of a brassy brown (where the brown x black workshirt is more of a copper). Definitely a unique denim, and a great shade. They're one of the high-to-mid priced offerings from Gustin, especially after the recent-run price increase, but it's a pretty rare color for any manufacturer, not just Gustin.

I'm a 34 slim. If I attempted to squeeze into a 32 slim i'd look like a walking sausage casing

Definitely like the flannel. Their jacket selection is interesting to say the least. I noticed they have new lining in the tobacco riders jacket too. Not sure I like the olive colored one though.
But to answer your question, I have no clue what to pair with houndstooth

Just as I was making an eBay listing for that white striped FNC shirt a box arrived with more! The flannel is great! Fit is spot on, lighter weight than I would have liked but it's forgivable. The houndstooth jacket is interesting. The fabric is much heavier and denser than I expected and layed out it looks awesome. I'm not sure exactly how to wear it though and what to wear it with. Suggestions? Comments? You can wear that houndstooth with damn near anything you want to, just be careful you don't do any crazy patterns elsewhere (or the opposite and commit yourself to it, but you have to remember in that case you're wearing a costume) and you'll be in good shape. It's a truly beautiful jacket, so whatever you wear it with, do it with pride. it looks good how you've got it there, and if you dress it up a bit with a solid shirt and chinos (even canvas) it'll look even better. It'd likely be great with the Japan Checking Stripe outfit you've got above. I don't think I can afford it, but if you decide it's too much for you (and the size works, and you're not able to return it for some reason), let me know.
