northcoast, aside from the yoke in the Slim Taper, how did the rest of the jeans fit and look? Comparing the measurements to Gustin Slim 33, the B* ST is more than 1/2" wider in the thigh, and 7/8" narrower in the cuff opening.. those measurements seem a little weird to me. Did the taper look that drastic while wearing them? Couple things. - Gustin Slims are very good for me all the way around except for RR. - B* told me that the Brown Weft I had sewed up a little small. - the B* slim taper was a little tighter all around and more taper noticable vs. G. - when they come out with the new cut, I will probably try the slim taper again as I could totally wear them except my but being squeezed (and I'm not a bike rider or lifter so it's not like it's uhhh developed)

I wonder if all of the Brown weft B* ST's sewed up small... those are the ones i've had my eye on.

actually....they looked exactly like they do on the website...i thought they would be some deviation as its hard to get a handle on the color from any on my monitors, but its literally what you see it what you get....certainly a change of pace for most of us....interesting you say they may have sown up big. As when i returned them, i inquired about this b/c i ordered the same size a year back in my straights and those a perfect...same size in the spectre (in slim no less) much bigger....
i think they said end of January for restock in the spetre.
so anyone have any info/intel on the 210z....crispy, heavy....soft tough...iron heart like...

Do you think it's smart to get my slim straight tapered from the thigh down?

Do you think it's smart to get my slim straight tapered from the thigh down? If you do, have it done only by a denim tailor. RailCar for example

Ok, so I'm still debating about getting my brave star tapered, or I can sell both of my slim straights if anyone is interested. I worn one at least 3 times. The other pair I haven't put or tried on. Both are a size 36. I learned that I prefer slim tapered over straights

northcoast, did you get your exchanged pair of brown weft? What are your thoughts?

northcoast, did you get your exchanged pair of brown weft? What are your thoughts? I did not get my pair as they did not have anymore in my size. I am now sitting on a gift card and am itching to buy another pair of Cramertons. At this point I am waiting for spring when new colors of slim tapered Cramertons come out OR new cut of their jeans. I'm sortof leaning away from their jeans as that brown weft was the only fabric I was interested in.

I think I'm going to try and attempt to get both of my pairs of Slim Straights tailored to Slim Tapered.

I think I'm going to try and attempt to get both of my pairs of Slim Straights tailored to Slim Tapered. Wouldn't it be cheaper to sell them and repurchase? Tapering seems expensive enough to only really make sense on $200+ denim.

Will do, but I found another place to get it done: www.thestantontailor.com going to do a little more research on them. Heard that self edge uses them when people want stuff Tapered since self edge doesn't offer that service.

Why don't you send one pair to each place and then compare the results? Then you'll know where to go for any future work.

Does anyone have the 18.5 oz denim from Kuroki? I am thinking of picking up their Ironside denim jacket in the 18.5 oz denim and want to know what people think about the fabric.
thanks

bigblack I have jeans in that fabric that Manny made me a year ago. I like it a lot. It starts off stiff like any raw denim but becomes soft in a couple of wears. The fabric is thick, keeps me warm, and has a soft hand to it. Slow fader for me since I only wear when it's colder outside, not sure about shrinkage as I have never washed/soaked jeans yet.
