So can anyone help me with a comparison between the slim straights and G's slim? It seems the top block is roomier based on their description, and the rise is higher, but the measurements seem weird. Also, how is the top block in the Cramerton chinos? For the Cramerton chinos: I don't have the measurements in front of me for the two brands and I haven't taken a tape measure to either my cramerton chinos or my G slim chinos, but yes, I would say the bravestar has a higher rise, same to slightly roomier top block and more of a taper from the knee down compared to Gustin. I like both cuts. FWIW, I am a true 36" waist and i was between sizes on the bravestar size chart. I emailed Mik and he suggested sizing down. The fit is perfect for me. EDIT: Oh, ooops. I see you wanted comparisons between bravestar denim and G denim. Sorry. Misunderstood.

Also, how is the top block in the Cramerton chinos? Maybe in a couple weeks I can. I just sent back my BStars to echange for a pair of slim straights so I'll let you know. Cramerton top block is roomy. You get a bit of ass sag, but thats ok because they are super comfortable.

Thinking about giving BraveStar a chance. It doesn't look like TS will get their slim black denim back any time soon. The Slim Straight double black seems like a decent substitute.

I have a jacket (brown weft Ironside) and the 14 oz Cone. I recommend their denim - good craftsmanship. I would suggest to watch for the sales on Spring - you can easily score a pair for 20% off.

Anyone know of any promo codes or new customer discounts? They don't do discounts directly as the prices are very reasonable to begin with in relation to what you get. If you sign up for the newsletter you will get a notice when their partner retailer site, shopspring, does discounts. That site, which has almost the full line of Bravestar, will do 20% from time to time. They have done it a bunch lately so it will probably be awhile till they do it again. www.shopspring.com/brands/828

Well thanks man. Those pictures make me feel better. My thing is that the numbers point me towards the slim taper, so I bought them. But the pictures have the slim straights looking much better. Since my return is going to be slim straights, I think I'll be ok. Only question I have is are they tight sideways across the ass?

They are slim but straight in the thighs. I'll have to soak them in a month so they can be a tad more fitted though.

Sorting out the fits. Yee haww!

So I went with the slim straight knowing that once I soak / wash they will eventually shrink a bit to be more fitted.

Anyone tried their 21oz version. I had to exchange my specter selvedge pair and the next smaller size is sold out
So with credit for a new pair and borderline discipline to wait for a restock in the specter ...

In a few of the pictures online it seems like they are using the same model and fit for showing off both the Slim Straight and the Slim Taper. This is especially the case with the 13.5 oz Brown X Indigo. Can anyone distinguish which fit the model is actually wearing?
Coming from Gustin, how do the Bravestars compare in fading and break-in?

Ah so yours were too big? How is the fabric on this IRL. I recently did an excahnge and went for the specter first but they dont have it in my size. Did BS indicate to you when they would be getting more?

northcoast, aside from the yoke in the Slim Taper, how did the rest of the jeans fit and look? Comparing the measurements to Gustin Slim 33, the B* ST is more than 1/2" wider in the thigh, and 7/8" narrower in the cuff opening.. those measurements seem a little weird to me. Did the taper look that drastic while wearing them?

Did the taper look that drastic while wearing them? Gustin slims are a little tight in the thigh and way loose at the cuff, so this seems like a good adjustment to me. If they have a little more rear rise, they'd be great and very close to the RgT SK fit.
