Patchectomy complete: Pre-Patchplant placing: I Swear, This Isn't Leather, It's a Pork Cracklin': Surgery complete: It's alive! If I can do it, any one can do it. Though it might be a touch easier to do if you don't double the thread, like I did. I haven't run a belt under the patch, so I can't say how successful that was. But there you go!

Dude, someone had attached a chicharon to your pants before.
That looks good! It never occurred to me that you might want to run the belt under the patch. I guess I need to ask that question in the future and perforate accordingly.
One other thing, if you have a rubber or plastic mallet, place the jeans on a table patch side up and tap (not a wussy tap and not pound) just tap, the thread. It will both flatten out/blend the thread. Try it you'll like the results. I promise.

Honestly, I went that way because I was afraid I'd run out of thread halfway through. I probably shouldn't have doubled up, but oh well. Live and learn. I don't normally run my belt behind the patch anyway, even if it's open.

I'd love a replacement patch like this, too, BUT, I'd request that you burn Marshdown on there because my belt is one of the best purchases I've ever made and I'd love to rep your brand.

Quick update - A load of belts and cardholders went out last week. If you've ordered a belt or cardholder in the last week or so, your belt will go out this coming week. As always, thanks for your patience! The Natural Horween for belts is still en route, the lead time for CXL is reflective of the demand and demand is high. When the Marshdown Empire TM is established and I'm ordering 50 sides at a time, I'm guessing I'll get preferential treatment but for now, thinking patience is my mantra I've nailed down a dopp kit and I'm going to make a few available in the next few weeks, No idea on price yet but these will be full veg tan, hand saddle stitched with a liner to be determined shortly. They'll be nice. Prototype pic attached...(note the PROTO part...there are some unburnished edges and so forth here that will be addressed on production models) there will be some clean up of the handle/loop design but the basic layout is done. The sales model for these will be a bit different. I'll make a small number of them and when they're done I'll put them up here with good pics and folks can decide if they're interested at that time, more of a traditional retail, first come first serve or don't buy if it's not for you model. OK hope everyone is set up for an awesome weekend! Steve

Thanks for the idea Griffin, pics to help me conceptualize? Also, dopp kit up tomorrow, I'll post a pics. I'm going to go a run of 5 for this first group. In honor of NFL season starting, this run will have pigskin lining....

Im no designer, but when I saw Gustins I thought it would work with just a little change: If those 2 smaller pcokets (where there is a zipcard) if they could be passport sized, im sure they would hold 2 passports each on top of eachother. The third bigger pocket (where the passport is now) should work for the boardingcards (need size here i dunno the size of a boarding card) and should also work for a folded "ticket" or transfer info that we usually throw away after use.

Hey guys, it’s done! The Marshdown dopp kit is now alive and kicking. It’s 100% handmade, starting from individually cut pieces from premium veg tan sides, through fitting lining and assembly all the way through hand saddle stitching. The pigskin liner provides a beautiful but durable interior. We designed end tabs that utilize a jeans style button and slot for retention and also functions as a large, handy, slotted loop for hanging or securing the bag as needed. You can fully open and access the bag with the tabs buttoned down (I almost never unfasten mine) but if needed, releasing the tabs allows the bag to be opened a bit wider for cleaning or airing out after a long trip. The zipper is a metal, heavy duty RIRI unit, it feels as good as it looks! We apply a light final conditioner to protect the exterior from stains but still allow this piece to age and acquire character as you use it. We don’t overwork work the leather to induce creasing or shaping beyond the natural shape created by the bags structure. It’s a burly, strong piece that will age supremely. 100% Double Needle Hand Saddle Stitched 3-4 oz Veg Tan Full pigskin lining RIRI zipper Burly, not buttery 125.00 shipped CONUS 145.00 Shipped Worldwide PM if interested, doing 5 pieces total to start with. I haven't sat down and calculated labor hours on these yet, but I can tell you they aren't going to get less expensive in the future. Lots of time and care goes into these.

that looks great @stevekas! i'm tempted to get in on the initial 5 based on how it looks...but i know i'd never use it. i tend to be an really light packer and would rarely want to sacrifice the weight/space required for it.

@david, just use one as your travel bag, that's true minimalism ha ha.... bugula, that's a tough situation. I always had a side dopp kit, but juggling can get tough....I have no idea what I'm talking about.....

I always had a side dopp kit, but juggling can get tough....I have no idea what I'm talking about..... then your regular kit catches on. realizes your toiletries are running lower than they were the last time they were in it and it catches on to what's up. but seriously, i really do like it, and if there was any way to justify having two, i'd be in. i can only imagine how nicely it'll age.
