In keeping with the thread tittle, these are up on ebay in US 11. I really like this build, the same build with all black commando, and the natural build with cispresso. I want to like the green, just not sure. I think it needs to be a little more subtle for my liking.

If you're an American and can find stuff you like from Canadian stores, this is the time to buy with the Canadian dollar tanking. I'm not usually a huge fan of jet black boots, but they do look pretty damn good.

Question for y'all. Where do you like your toe to sit in the boot? 1/2 inch from the front? 1 inch? 1/4 inch?

Dang that dark brown looks good. But I'm a 9.5D.. Fwiw that 8E in dark brown equates to at least a 9D. They say they run a full size big, but my feeling is that it's really bigger than that by a little. You might get away with that 8. I'm usually a 9.5D. I have an 8.5E in these and I still have room.

Pull tabs are actually quite popular with boots.

Pull tabs are actually quite popular with boots. Just not cloth ones like those. Rancourt's long leather ones look a whole lot nicer.

I get the look like part because of the tab, the exposed metal eyelets, and they are both English, but thats where the similarities end. Doc Martens are cheap throw away shoes. I had a pair when I was younger, and they haven't changed the way they make them. Tricker are actually well made shoes. That being said, I'm not a fan of the pull tabs, I order my boots without them. The only pull tabs I like are the side tabs on my ropers but you need them to get them on. I doubt I'll ever buy a pair higher than 6" so I shouldn't need them on lace up boots, but if one takes a minute to loosen the laces when they take their boots off, a pull tab should not be needed when putting them back on.

How much younger? I'm not saying they're in the same league, but Doc Martens were resoleable, made of durable leather, and not something I would classify as throw-away. Maybe this has changed in recent years (I haven't had any since they moved all production to China), and those sandals and such might as well be crocs to me, but they've historically made some pretty good boots.

Bought them in Toronto at Fluevog. I don't think they were available in the States at that time. They were higher boots, probably 8" I think. Purple for the ..........win? When I speak of quality I'm talking about them for their 'stated' use of workboots. I've always laughed at that, poor English people having to work in those. They suck for that. I just wore them around town. For comparison sake I wore standard oil cured red lined Red Wings for years to work on the Farm and various other outside occupations. Burned through several pairs of Army surplus cordua jungle boots that sucked as well but I'd probably take them over the docs as they laced up much tighter.

Interesting read Old26. I was pretty excited last night looking through the Truman instagram page and that led me to their man page where I found this little gem: "The sole on this boot is a black Lactae Hevae sole from France. It’s currently being field tested but is not available at the moment. " www.trumanboot.com/shop/boots/natural-dublin/Truman boots (I love the Vibergish style, almost bought a pair) with a Lactae Hevae sole! Sound like a dream come true. For those unfamiliar with LH: www.lactae-hevea.com/en/index.php

These are solid, but that heel is really aggressive. Are you looking to be taller?

Not really. They do have a substantial heel and sole, looks to be triple. Would probably take for ever to break in.

After seeing the navy chamois on the Truman IG feed, I'm really hoping they have that leather when the new site goes live.

devastitis I'm enjoying them quite a bit. The leather is pretty much carefree. Just a damp cloth and brush to get them back into shape. They are a tad big and have to wear some thick socks, but not a big deal. The only thing that bugs me is the tongue on the left boot seems to be stitched a little off center.
