I am! I am addicted to suede/suede-esque boots. I want to fill up my closet with suede shoes and boots. I was considering grabbing these due to the extra 20% clearance sale AE is having on firsts. Did you see the navy chamois boots on trumans IG today?

Old26 those do look nice, better in your pics than the others. I know they're roofers boots but I wonder how that came about. Anybody here know?

I had to return the Jcrew navy suede boots because they were a half size too small.

whiskeyriver which roughout boots did you grab? I really want a pair, and I'm considering Truman Coyote Roughouts and the Viberg Boondockers, but I'm not sure I want to spend $700 on a pair of non-shell boots. These. I love them: selvedgestyle.com/post/45419/thread

Size 27 is left. Which is size 8 American. Which, in this boots, will work for someone who typically wears size 9. This run a full size large.

They look great, but they're pricier than I remember them being. You might also be remembering them from that USA repro place I'm forgetting the name of. I think we decided the BR's are likely less of a crapshoot than the other place, it should all be documented in that thread, iirc. Edit: the one belopsky linked.

That navy chamois is nice.
I was seriously considering buying a pair of Quoddy shoes for the summer in green chamois. I was going crazy trying to understand how to care for them and I think I found out that the chamois leather is considered quite durable.

Just an FYI in case anyone isn't familiar, roughout and suede are not the same thing. I know many know this, but thought it worth mentioning for some reason.

The only ones I really like are the Hawthorne Muleskinners, which was what you're talking about right? Others that I think look pretty decent are the Brooks Brothers Iron Rangers.

I emailed ePaulet asking about that, and they said because they're already heavily oiled, just wipe them down and shoe tree them.

Roughout is full grain with the rough out, suede is a split, and not full grain leather. They've removed the smooth side of the hide, you get what's left.

And waxed flesh is waxed roughout. I stay away from suede. I remember trying to keep suede chukka's clean when I was a kid. It was impossible. Always sprayed the hell out of them with that waterproof spray when new. That stuff really stank.

In keeping with the thread tittle, these are up on ebay in US 11. I really like this build, the same build with all black commando, and the natural build with cispresso.
