Dang, son. That trailer is somethin'. Totally excited for this, though I can't help but remember how awesome episode 1 looked from the trailer (and remember the ages it took to download the thing in whatever it was, 480p at the time). The positive side of this is that Abrams showed how well he could handle Star Wars since he basically made two Star Wars movies within the Star Trek franchise. I was a little sad to note no Mark Hammil on the poster, though, what with the rest of them hanging out on there. Sort of makes me think that the plot is them trying to track him down (since he was featured prominently in the teaser).

And having just watched the new trailer, that looks pretty damn good. Hoping the force is strong with JJ.

Yeah, I am sure of it that the plot is them tracking down a missing Luke.

As an IT nerd by trade, I'm ashamed to say I have never seen a single Star Wars movie...
Gentlemen, feel free to commence the throwing of stones

Because I'd rather throw those. Also, when you DO get around to watching them, watch these versions (track them down; don't watch the "Special" Editions) and in this order (scroll down to "Machete Order"). Yeah, I loved Star Wars as a kid. And what?! Haha. And now my little one is huge into it.

Well, thank you for derailing my forthcoming weekend...looks like Machete Order is in order for me. I went through the MCU with the Machete Order (quite a time suck) a couple months ago when Guardians of the Galaxy was released on blu-ray and it was pretty solid. I've been planning to do Star Wars for a while but will probably hold off until December. I heard rumor that Disney was going to finally restore the original editions and release them, has anyone heard if there's anything behind that? I bought the original trilogy liek a fourth time when they released the tin box set that had the non-anamorphic originals on DVD, but they look like hell, so a full 1080p restoration (hopefully 4k, but beggars can't be choosers) would be lovely. Darth Vader shouldn't be a sort of brown walking around a blue ship at the beginning of Episode IV.

You are quite welcome. It's how I got my kiddo into. Now she's already a huge fan of Rey. Here's hopin' they don't make her dark haha.

So I spent time last night contributing to crashing the iPic servers trying to get tix and then my wife says "WTF is wrong with you, we're seeing it at the studios". Sure - thanks for trying honey... Did I win that one?

Did I win that one? I figure, given that there is more than one theater showing it around the clock opening weekend in my area, I'm not gonna have too much trouble getting in to see it. And if I figure wrong, I'm only going to end up crying like, a tiny bit.

Guess I shouldn't mention that I've also seen NONE of the Bourne or Matrix movies..... You should at least see the first of each, Bourne for the Mini chase, and The Matrix just because it's a pretty solid movie. Unless, of course, you just don't like to watch movies, in which case carry on my wayward son.

Trailer looked alright. All i know is, it will definitely be better than the shite Lucas put out, especially the prequels. I have a hard time sitting through his films because the dialogue is so bad.
Think ill wait a month or two after the film comes out so as not to fight the crowds

I was 5 when Star Wars came out. there's no denying that at that time the original films were exciting and different. I don't hate the originals, despite the dialogue. the prequels, on the other hand, were an abomination.
