The Gusting Affiliate thread hasn't seen this much activity in weeks. I know they look at it, so I hope they're taking all the input into account. I'd love to see Gustin diversify their shirting in the way Taylor Stitch does, however I think that may also be the reasoning behind TS having to move a lot of production to Portugal, though I haven't done any science to legitimize that idea. It seems Gustin could find someone outside of the Bay Area that might align a shirt and do it at a decent price (though alignment seems to be more of an East coast thing than a West coast thing). I wished they'd diversify as well. some of the members over at SF seem to disagree and think Gustin lives in a bubble where only cravat and button-collar wearing preppy types help fund their business. I too think they should do what TS is doing and offer a wider range of shirts that would appeal to more customers, not less. This would get me to consider a shirt purchase from G in the future.

what's weird to me is people saying they want more space in the thigh of the straights, and a hem width of 7.5". I guess knowing the waist size is important, but I'm just picturing dudes walking around looking like a W from the front. i'm picturing a bunch of fat guys walking around with chicken legs

I don't get why everyone is so worked up over band collars. It's an very old collar style. You see it on Nehru jackets in India and it was based off the mandarin collars. I think it looks good for light summer shirts in lighter fabrics or when worn with a sports jacket.

What the eff is a cravat? And no I"m not googling it Id never wear a Cravat, much to formal for me. Now a Ascot .... "Ascots are more informal; they're tied under the collar. There are cravat styles that aren't ascots, ties or bow ties. The cravat is, by definition, the original form of neckwear." Denim ascot, Yeah!

The collar doesn't really stay up it just doesn't have the form like a button down collar while wearing a jacket. I hate seeing shirts get lost in the lapels of a jacket it looks sloppy.

I agree on a non-button down collar and double agree that Taylor Stitch's California collar is perfect. I'd also love to see gustin make henleys and sweat shirts. A long time ago G posted pics of a loopwheeled sweatshirt they wanted to make. I'd forgive them if they made it in Canada as they are technically "American " and it seems that a lot of high quality knits come from there, like the very popular heavy indigo t shirt material.

In addition, offering a cut without the high armholes would be cool. Gustin should consider a JCrew model, with slim, regular, and tall cuts.

In addition, offering a cut without the high armholes would be cool. This is a very important part right here that gets overlooked IMO. Gustin took the high armholes too far and it doesn't bother me so much on their regular button down collar shirts but it drives me nuts on their work shirts. Their work shirts have such a weird cut IMO (classic fit anyways, slim might be a bit different) with the high armholes making the arms look skinny, yet the body is cut fuller like a WS should be. It's like they're cut for a guy who has a pear shaped upper body (small chest, shoulders, arms but then a fat stomach). So weird. I hope their new shirt cut doesn't have the same cut.

Slightly related - this is the exact same problem I have with Iron Heart shirts. High armholes making the arms look skinny and narrower shoulders as if they're cut for a pear shaped guy. I'd love to see a fit for more athletic shaped guys.

Just out of curiosity I measured the armholes on my IH chambray WS and my Gustin Wabi Sabi WS; IH has "1.25 more room in the armhole than the Gustin

Luckily, I liked all other aspects of the IH shirts enough to have them tailored, as they are otherwise pretty sweet. Gustin.....I don't think I'll bother haha.

Also for the record my IH has an inch more room in the shoulders. This is comparing an IH XL to a Gustin classic L. I picked these two because their chest and waist measurements are identical.
