Nice hospital gowns. Do they open at the back? Gustin needs to announce new sew shops or actual QC of their existing shirts before pumping out more turds. And kill the damned scoops already. I thought Gshirts recently were skewing towards decent quality? That's a fair statement, I think. But they'd pretty much hit rock bottom, so I'll wait a little longer.

Once they start offering them without a button down collar, I'm really salivating for some solid color chambrays, so the alignment and correct outside on those is pretty darn foolproof, and they probably look cooler if they do happen to sew them with the wrong side facing out.

Concur, would try some solid colors in Tall. I have a pink Tyrwhitt Extra Slim (that's really not that slim) that is a really nice, vibrant pink on the inside, but just your standard business shirt pink on the outside. Looks nice when the sleeves are rolled, but I also think it should have been sewn the other way.

I'm not a fan of banded collars which probably means they'll be wildly popular in the next few years. Not a popover fan either. I think they look pretty good if you're avoiding the collar over collar over collar look that you can sometimes get when trying to layer. I can imagine that this would also be nice when on a motorcycle with a jacket, too, but I don't ride motorcycles. In any case, I'm typically wearing a button down shirt because of the collar, not in spite of it, so don't find much use. I think DigDug would, though, since he likes to stack lots of shirts. This seems like a decent enough look, though, even if it appears there are animals embroidered on the pants: I don't own any banded collared shirts. I'm on the fence. I do like to layer. I figured I'd wear the IH waffle shirt a denim shirt then my waxed chore jacket and top it off with a LE LABOUREUR wool jacket (4 collars!). And of course a Ascot! ( ickes likes to see me in that

I get anxiety when the neck button is too tight. Banded collar is a no go for me.

Yes the banded collar is old fashioned looking, in a corny way.
I don't understand people's dislike of button down collars though. They are fitting for sport shirts, Gs most common shirt. Unfitting for work shirts or dress shirts.

i'm not sensing dislike for it - it's just that G uses it for every single shirt they produce. heavy twills and flannels could do without the buttons.

(which i also wish they'd vary a bit depending on the fabric of the shirt. that said, i hate the scoop and resulting flaps on my one G-shirt so much to keep me from any of their shirts until a potential redesign alleviates it a bit.

I don't twitter, so I posted in styleforum. This seems to have kicked up a bit of activity on an otherwise very slow Official Affiliate Thread, Josh Gustin hasn't piped in yet, but it might be a good time to make the desires heard over here.

The obvious choice would be a polo shirt, preferably with the same cut as Uniqlo x Michael Bastian, except with sturdier and nicer fabrics.

I have 2 items with mandarin colar - each for its purpose. A cafe racer leather jacket, and a linen shirt with wooden-buttons to wear while in greece on holiday. I dont need more of these. Ok maybe 1 more on holiday but thats it.

It's gonna be a spread collar. Band is cool but I doubt they would.

Yeah no to a polo. Polos basically fall out of trees if you shake them hard enough, there are so many around. And we don't need another dressy English or semi spread collar either. I don't think many people are gonna go to an online denim shop for dress shirts. There are so many dress shirt makers out there that have that whole thing nailed down. Don't need another. People go to Gustin for casual. Taylor Stitch's "California" collar is pretty much the perfect non-button collar shirt. Works with casual and semi-casual alike. Structured but not stuffy. EDIT: Looks like I provoked some Styleforum Gustin acolytes.

Man, I am realizing again why I don't go over to Style Forum. Far too preppy of a crowd. There are dudes over there straight up wearing cravats like it's a good look. CRAVATS.
Don't get me started on Male Fashion Advice. That place is full of insanely unfashionable dudes. Hah.

There are cravat styles that aren't ascots, ties or bow ties. The cravat is, by definition, the original form of neckwear."

I know they look at it, so I hope they're taking all the input into account. I'd love to see Gustin diversify their shirting in the way Taylor Stitch does, however I think that may also be the reasoning behind TS having to move a lot of production to Portugal, though I haven't done any science to legitimize that idea. It seems Gustin could find someone outside of the Bay Area that might align a shirt and do it at a decent price (though alignment seems to be more of an East coast thing than a West coast thing).

what's weird to me is people saying they want more space in the thigh of the straights, and a hem width of 7.5". I guess knowing the waist size is important, but I'm just picturing dudes walking around looking like a W from the front.
