I would recommend checking out the United Stock Dry Goods thread here, and looking them up online. They have a 14 oz indigo/indigo bright ID on sale, and from what I checked out here from gaseousclay and whiskeyriver, it appears to have fade potential based on how much it's inking things up. Although, $22 shipping stateside. Just picked up a pair myself. Because I totally needed another pair of indigo denim. Let us know your thoughts when you get them. I've worn mine a handful of times now and can already tell that the honeycombs will come in nicely

Lol...this is awesome, our addiction has reached an all time low; using the company cc so the old lady doesn't see the charges. And here I sit with my Japan Supimas on day 2 of wear thinking these will get fades. Soon as these St120s come in I'm done with the Supimas =( What an idiot I am. Haha no. Your Supimas aren't going anywhere. They'll still be there when you're done beatin' the crap out of the St120s haha.

I've always wanted the ixi bright ids, but usdg seems to be too narrow for my liking. Hopefully G will come out with it again.

I have Rogue Territory Dark Stantons and love them. They've softened up over the past 2 years that I've worn them and the electric blue fades are great.
Highly recommended. There are a few pairs floating around on Grailed too.

are you set on going with Gustin? there are a few other recommendations i'd make over them. bugula: hook it with some indigoxblack recs. Momotaro 0702 ixb doesn't work for me sadly. Was pretty set on buying them today. Preferably 34.5" waist, 24.5" thighs, 8" or under leg opening. Looking to spend under $200, but just over would be fine.

I've always wanted the ixi bright ids, but usdg seems to be too narrow for my liking. Hopefully G will come out with it again. I've found their fit to be perfect in the waist, thigh and knee. My only gripe is the cuff opening is bigger than I'd like. If their narrow fit had a slight taper and had a 7.75" or 8" cuff it would be perfect

Lee 101 also has a pair of IndigoxBlack selvedge jeans on their UK site. You can find these on Fleabay too. However, I'm not clear if the IxB is one of those pre-washed/distressed jeans that make you wanna puke

The warp and weft are both all black though. That said, I love my raw Lee 101s Slim Riders. They are quite nice, especially for the price. These would be a nice pair of denim, despite them being all black. All of their denim is Japanese milled, I do believe. My Slim Riders are Kaihara.

No, not those. They're listed on the official Lee UK site in the 101 section. I think it's the Lee 101S and it's a button fly IndigoxBlack selvedge denim. uk.lee.com/product/101-s/L972WETP

When I think Lee, I think Wrangler, and I think 1980's jeans my mom would buy for me.

Lee makes some decent looking selvedge denim. I've yet to buy any but there's a seller on Fleabay based in Poland that has a large assortment of Lee 101 stuff. Whiskeyriver has ordered from him so can vouch for him.

So I just got the ST120x's in size 32, thanks to bugula. Damn these things are TIGHT. I'm normally a 33 in Gustin. That being said, I was able to button them up and I'm hoping they will loosen. I had the same problem with my Gustin's but now they all fit great. I'm planning on taking them to get hemmed this weekend. When you guys hem, do you also taper too? I have no idea what to ask them. I'd like a double cuff and I'm hoping whichever tailor I find isn't an idiot.
Anyway, they certainly feel like a quality pair of jeans. They don't fit me as well as i'd like but with some time I can tell I'll get ridiculous fades and they'll hopefully fit me better.

Fwiw, before I lost weight I had a hard time getting the top button fastened on my SL120x's. Now they fit fine.
I didn't get mine tapered, only hemmed. My 3sixteens were hemmed free at BOW because that's where I bought them. I've now had 6 pairs of my other jeans hemmed at AB Fits because they only charge $15 per pair and I think they've done good work. Railcar fine goods is another option

They don't fit me as well as i'd like but with some time I can tell I'll get ridiculous fades and they'll hopefully fit me better. First of all, I'll save you some grief. YOU DO NOT WANT ORIGINAL HEM. You'll get in there and it sounds smart, and they won't argue, and if you're doing a double cuff it may not be visible, but you'll know what nightmare exists at your ankles and you'll never be able to wear them confidently. As far as taper, you want to have that done by a reputable jeans shop, otherwise you end up with uncuffable selvedge (either super-wide at a reverse taper, or they just cut the thing right off). Keep in mind that where they hem them, that's going to be your cuff width, so if you know that's going to be too much and you'll require a taper, then I recommend you listen to one of these guys that sends their jeans off to Railcar or one of the other shops that is known for doing good work with denim rather than risk it with a local tailor that you don't know. I know these were at the high end of your budget in the first place, but it'd be heartbreaking to have them ruined and unwearable because of a bad tailor.

You're in NYC, so you can get them chain stitch hemmed at Denim Therapy, Self Edge, Left Field, Blue in Green...there are a lot of places. EDIT: Denim Therapy will taper. Listen to exophobe...you need to be cognizant of where they'll cut the hem at, and know whether you'll be cool with that cuff width. If not, tell them to taper, and bring in your best fitting pair and have them match up those specs. They'll do it.

Yeah definitely look up one of those shops and go there, you might find out if bugula originally got them from one of those shops even, and figure out if they do hemming on jeans they sold, in which case you might be able to get it transferred by talking to them. Or by claiming you're him, but that gets more complicated, and I don't recommend it. Also, any of those guys will be able to do a proper taper, and know enough about the jeans to where they're unlikely to f them in the a.

How do you know what taper to ask for, when getting them hemmed? Take in your favorite pair and tell them you want that taper down to that particular cut opening. Or if you like the Gustin slim, for instance, use the thigh, knee, and hem measures from their fit chart and give those to them and say that's how you want them tapered at "X" inseam length.
