Got my Blue 17's today. So far so good. The waist on my 34 slims came out at exactly 34" just like my Japan One Sevens. This is actually a good thing for me because i want them to stretch out to my natural waist size rather than have them be loose. I noticed the tag actually says '171' but someone took a pen and had written a 9 over the 7 so it says 191. Not a big deal, just thought it was amusing

Just got the shipping notification on the Oxblood Trucker. Will probably get it in two weeks.
Here's hoping it doesn't come up small like the last one and the chore coats.

I have to admit, i did a side by side comparison of my Japan One Sevens and Blue 17's and i like the Japan One Sevens better. This is based purely on the warp/weft and texture. The Japan One Sevens are darker and have a neppy surface, whereas the B17's have some fuzziness to them but look like your average indigo denim. It'll be interesting to see the fade characteristics for each pair

They're both equally starchy. If i did a blindfold test i wouldn't be able to tell which is which. They were both inexpensive so it's a win for me. Had wanted to give heavyweight denim a try and these were around $80 apiece. Still need them hemmed though Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk

A picture showed up over on styleforum, in case you haven't seen it and want to. For some reason it didn't occur to me that it was waxed, even though going back and looking at the campaign it's absolutely obvious.

Thanks exophobe . I think it looks great. The wax part wasn't obvious to me when I ordered, as I just went off the pics and not the description, but I prefer it waxed. As a treat to match it, I've just ordered these Oxblood IRs as the colour is great and the 430 sole is a huge improvement on the usual cork.

They've been on my wishlist since RW released them. I have black Beckmans arriving today.

So I have been wearing my Japan Jutes. Got lots of dirt and ashes from a campfire on them so I did a soak yesterday - not a wash - just a soak in the tub for about 15 mins. Let them hang dry. Holy shit, these things are like starchy cardboard now! Craziest denim I've ever had. Guess I'll keep wearing them and see what happens. I put on my Super Heavy 18's last night, and they're like PJ's in comparison. Has anyone else had any denims that are like that? Totally uncomfortable, but I'll keep with it if you guys say it's worth it. Only pair I have not washed. Trying. To. Not. Do. It.

Any wear at this point? I've got an option to pick up a pair and I've been holding out to see what the masses are saying on these. Very intrigued.

The usual places are getting wrinkles. Of course it will take more work to see fading, but after about 30 mins so far today, less bothersome. I think they're way cool - would make an absolute KILLER shirt. I still favor heavy jeans, but it's a great denim.

Well, my Oxblood Trucker arrived today, but I won't see it until I get home on Thursday night. I was expecting up to $90 customs fees and it slipped through, so a good result for me. But for the first time in two years or so now I have nothing on order anywhere, which feels a little depressing.
I'll put up fit pics at the weekend.
