my status update on the Blue 17's has disappeared again in my profile. Either these are shipping soon or it got messed up again. In the event of the latter, does G give refunds for situations like this? I'm unwilling to sub another product if this batch did in fact have problems (just like my BxB trucker order)

Their preference is to give you a credit, though.

I know this is well within the delivery date range, but these were supposed to ship a couple weeks back. But, they got the wrong fabric in and they had to be resewn. If these ship this week then great, but if not, i'd like more intel from G other than telling me they had to be redone.

I dislike the idea of getting store credit which forces me to buy something I don't want. We'll see what happens

Anyone here order the Japan Organic Jute? Got mine in 34 Slim and they feel super skinny and VERY tight. Tried on a 34 Slim in the Downtown Browns and feel fine. Are these jeans fitting tighter than normal for you good fellows out there?

I REALLy like the denim.....stiff as a rock right now, with a rough and grainy texture. I emailed the G-team, and they're willing to accept a return for store credit. I don't think these jeans are 34 Slims. More of a 33 Skinny, and thats just not going to fly. G, said "the nature of the fabric makes the typical stretch of denim more resistant." I wish they would of suggested to size up 1 if thats the case. I have no experience with a Organic/Jute blend.

Have you measured them? I'd like to know what they are.

Seriously. I've gotten the "this is a denser weave than those other jeans in the same size, so you won't get the same degree of stretch" email 3 or 4 times, too. You have the fabric there--maybe give a heads up that it's a "dense weave" and order up one. Or admit that sometimes your QC sucks and make it right--which they are generally good about. But it does get pretty damn old sending back pairs that don't fit that you were excited about. I'm really hoping the Guiron Hearts (Eh? Eh?) sew up right.

Japan Organic Jute Tagged sized 34 Slim:
Measurements per Gustin instructions:
*Waist - 33 inches *Rise - 10 inches *Thigh - 22 inches *Knee - 16 inches *Cuff - 15 inches *Inseam - 35 inches
Just did the measurement. Looks like they sewed up way too small!!!! =(

A mistake I made again and again with G items was washing, hemming or wearing them without checking the actual sizes. I should have known better, but I think I got about 6 items, jeans and jackets, below spec and didn't realise until it was too late and basically lost most of my money.
I have the Oxblood Trucker coming next month, so will do a careful measure and fit check right away, and if it comes under it'll go back. Ebay's not even getting me half my money back on new or barely worn G gear.

Yours are 1.5" under target waist spec, which is why I always now go up rather than down in my sizing, but at those specs above they may not fit me either. Disappointing for such a unique denim.

Had a bit of a Gustin binge recently, and ordered Black x Coals, Vintage 18s and whatever the 21oz pair that just finished were called.
Reading things like this does get me a bit worried though. How the HELL can they still be sewing things so off spec? Returns for me will be very difficult as I'm living in Europe. Hopefully it won't come to it but if I receive things that are way off the stated measurements I'll be far from thrilled. I'm sure they've had complaints re:sizing issues for well over a year now, if not more?
Fingers crossed anyway. Could all be hunky dory.

This is my 1st time getting a pair of denim under spec. This QA/QC needs to be paid attention to. It's not the end of the world, but I'm paying my hard earn $$$$ on trusting Gustin. It's not acceptable to pass mistakes from the sew shop to the customer. Very disappointed right now.

Because I usually size up by one these days (as a result of too many sewing up small) I can just button them up. So I may just break them in, but there's going to be a few disappointed customers as the fabric is amazing.

i'm curious now if my Blue 17's will sew up the same as the organic jutes? I'll find out today. when I got my Japan One Seven's the waist came in at 34" which is perfect for me. I'm kinda hoping my Blue 17's also come in at 34".
