As for the sandpaper comparisons, I'm not sure I agree. I mean, the fabric is super starchy and stiff for a lightweight denim but there are a lot of other fabrics that feel much more like sandpaper imo. The Oaks, Charcoals, Black 2s, Loomstates, and Heavy Americans all feel more coarse, rough, and textured than the JUBs imo. I think the JUBs are quite ccomfortable. heh. I HAVE NONE OF THOSE THINGS!

yes, I think the Japan Union Blue will make for a very nice WS. It looks great with the contrast stitching as mentioned. As for the sandpaper comparisons, I'm not sure I agree. Also, I'm saying that just about the top surface. The inside is quite smooth and "soft", for starchy denim, and they are certainly plenty comfortable, just a rough stop surface that I'm sure will soften up just fine.

measurements for my JUBs in a 34 slim; waist: 34.5" thigh: just under 24" knee: 17" cuff: right leg at 15", left leg at 15.5" rise: just over 10.5" so basically they are pretty much within spec tolerances. The interesting thing about the different cuff widths though is that the knees and thighs on both legs are identical to each other and it's only at the cuff where there is a .5" difference. Overall I'm very happy with these. They look pretty much exactly as they are represented on the campaign page so there are no surprises when you open the package. They are exactly what I wanted them to be; a lightweight summer pair that's starchy, crispy, has contrast stitching, and is in a more unique shade of blue than your standard pair of raws. I have a lady friend who knows my selvedge addiction and is very familiar with my whole collection. She came over today and immediately noticed I had on a new pair and she loves them. She looked at them for a good minute or so and complented me on them regarding the color, fit, and overall look. I went slim with these and am cuffing them as a 34" slim has a 36" inseam. Anywho, it's just a female perspective fwiw as most of my pairs she hasn't complimented me on or doesn't like. here's a few more pics in natural light fellas; imgur.com/a/q0hdn

I'm set on indigo raws but I could see myself picking up something like those or an Italian medium blue pair.

w00t Pima Fires in the mail. Any requests on what color to over-dye, assuming I do? Already have NIxP on the way, plus I'm pretty sure stevekas already did that to his fires, so something new. Purple or bright yellow are the two currently at the top of the list, so if that makes you wince here's your chance...

Aaaaand I just snagged a pair of Raw Umbers. That means the only thing left on my list is 23+ oz and then I'm gonna have to retire from the internet pants game ;-)

Mine are still hanging up, begging to be worn. But my fat ass needs to drop about 15 lbs and 5% bf to get back into a 33 slim.

Japan Union Blues. Love them. Love the color, the sheen and the texture.
But . . . the fabric reminds me a little bit of the Toughskins that I wore as a 6 year old. I'm talking about the "reinforced knee" area, not rest of the jeans that were softer and more pliable.

If they felt like sandpaper, we're on the same page, though.

LOL. Guess what shipped? Chinos? no. Wine Oxford.
At this point I'm expecting the Moss Herringbone jeans to ship before the f'ing chinos.
** EDIT ** For frame of reference, the wine oxford funded 1/3, 11.5 weeks after the caramel chinos, and about two weeks after the caramel chinos were "finished and shipping out this week".

Well my 90 day no spend is now officially over. Picked up a pair of unworn Japan Umbers off of Grailed. Couldn't wait for Gustin to release it any longer.

Did anybody receive a shipment notification for Italy IxI? They were supposed to ship 2nd Feb.

There's a few Italy IxI in the stock store which makes me wonder. The Pink IDs and Super Heavy Slubs seem to be lagging too, those were supposed to ship last week as well.
