I keep giving in ... dammit I'm like a full-blown crack whore for Gustin, I admit it. I swear off and say 'I'll never again...' But then I find myself THAT NIGHT on the corner in a skinny pair of grey silks at 3 AM flagging down cars and waking up in weird bushes in parks with 'GUSTIN' 'hand-stamped' on my vegetable-tanned ass. At least Cody is gentle... shit.

A key for all of these new startups is to get their seasons in sync with production. I'm simply not ordering winter gear now only to get it in the spring. Same with summer stuff. That is something that really puts me off. If I have to wait 6 months to wear something I already waited 2-4 months for, I'm out. |

I feel like I can share this here.
It's getting harder and harder to hide from my wife the fact that I've become a male prostitute who works under a freeway underpass for about 5 hours every Tues/Thurs night just to fund my Gustin habit. I feel like it doesn't count as long as I'm thinking of 'sick fades' and don't kiss anyone.
God I hope I can stop soon. I know it's wrong, OK? I know it. But every time it just feels so right. I've got to quit, though. I know if I keep this up I'll lose everything -- my job, my family, my house. Hell, what's left of my self-respect. But I want the American Organic 3 Pack and that androgynous little leather tote thing. It won't even be for me, OK? It'll be a gift for my wife. She'll understand. I can tell her what I've done. I'll just earn enough for that and the OH WHO AM I KIDDING??? [sobbing uncontrollably]

American sixteeners came in bang-on spec, wabisabi is an amazing fabric, came in as huge as I was expecting, but a warm wash and dry put it right about where i need it, gonna be wearing this one a lot. This puts my awaiting list at:
Italy brown x black workshirt
Japan caramel chino
Japan blue slate Oxford
Japan Union blue
Wine Oxford (think its gonna be killer)

I just checked the order status page today and the Heavy Americans order I backed (was slated for Dec. shipment) has "Production status: 12/29: Unexpected delay; Jeans slated to ship in the middle of January." Also waiting on a heavyweight belt in natural that was also supposed to ship in December, and the super heavy slubs for January.
I'm not going to lie, I'm a little disappointed but I understand these things happen. The heavy Americans were the first G campaign I backed, and since then I've picked up a pair of the #116 light white IDs on ebay and backed the mossxnavy flannel. The light white IDs were my gateway to raw denim and I'm hooked, much to the dismay of my bank account. I'm excited for the heavy Americans when they eventually do ship.
