No joke. My daughter got sick last year and I stopped exercising and ate more. I'm tempted to sell off my collection and just buy bigger jeans. I did actually receive one pair of LD 35X33 which fit well and bought a pair of Railcar in a larger size.
I have
Japan Classic Okayama Standard Italian GreyxBlack the Natural American Sixteeners
I hate parting with them but I nalso don't wear them. I do fit my Gustin Chinos so happy for that.

Well...there's a lot of variables regarding how to give you the best answer for this (are you really committed to loosing the weight? How much weight do you want to loose?, etc..), but the short answer for me considering I'm huge on fitness and being healthy would be loose the weight. Better yet...loose the weight, sell off your japan classics and okayama standards, and replace them with some Onis/strike golds/iron hearts/PBJs, etc....

I gained a bit of weight on my stomach as I simply sit and work for too long. Been upping my weight training and my cardio. It does pay off. I think it's better to push yourself; though it does come down to how happy you are with how you look.

I have been a beer guy forever, but drink way less of it these days, simply because of the calories. Don't do light beer, so not an option, as I like it to have taste. Now days have mostly switched over to whisky, which is much for forgiving on the belly fat.

Exercising of course helps because you're building/maintaining muscle mass, but if you don't diet properly, no amount of exercise will offset a bad diet. Of course if you don't do both, then you're doubly effed.

My suits not fitting well either. I can always tell about weight when my dress shirts get right in the neck.
Whiskey vs beer? Hmm.

If anything diet is more important; you can lost weight (comparatively) purely through diet alone even if you don't exercise too much/too well. Harder to say the same for the reverse.

@waterandnopants - it's def all about diet. Really understanding what you are putting into your body. Plenty of "health food" with more sugar and processed junk than candy bars.

If you are my size, sell off all of your clothing to me. Otherwise, I really have no dog in the fight.
But in all seriousness, lose weight. I went through something similar and now I am stuck at 37 waist when I should be back down to 36.

Put the freaking beers down...or at least cut back to a couple weekends a month. Switch to Vodka. Abs are made in the kitchen...I say this to people till I'm blue in the face. devastitis is exactly right, it's all about the diet. It all depends on how bad you want it beeranddenim, but you have to want it 100% or you won't stick with it

Quit drinking. That's funny. I could sell off and size up. Posting here actually got me in my bike for an hour.
My G is 32 straight except for the 33 slim 16ers. I probably would have been happier in 33 straights and they'd still fit.

I quit drinking, quit eating processed carbs, and ran and swam and lost a shit ton of weight. That apparently was all that was holding me back. I drink a weekend a month, maybe. Probably what it averages to. 1-2 times a month.

My suits not fitting well either. I can always tell about weight when my dress shirts get right in the neck. Whiskey vs beer? Hmm. I drink a lot less than I did in my 20s, and when I do its usually whiskey unless I'm out with my GF and it's beer/wine with dinner. Basically as guy, after your late 20's you have to decide if you want to just chill and let the pounds accumulate or fight aging by working out regularly. I'd recommend that latter, it will help in many areas of life. I'm not saying go full bro mode but cardiovascular and weights or at least asport you do regularly. Don't sell your jeans man, keep them and work out AND get some IH and Oni's to reward yourself later. (BTW been there with the sick kids and married life thing....you can still do it man)

How old are you beeranddenim? It's not like a 36" waist is obese. Drink a little less stay active either at work or a gym. Better yet out hiking, biking, etc with your daughter.
