You guys do well with no VAT and no customs fees. Good call on the Grensons. They just look totally anaemic compared to Tricker's, not to mention half the chunkiness. Our normal price is about $560 and $600 and they make the feckin' things here.

There's a Peter Griffin's Side Boob Hour joke in there somewhere. Anyhow, a few alternate shots, including a detail to show the thickness of the leather. These things were $345 delivered (although I'm sure there will be a FedEx customs bill at some point). Did they pass through customs before the customs increase?

I have no clue--however, I just got an email from END with this quote: "good news US customers, all orders under $800 are free of import tax and duties."

Yeah, they increased it to $800 for the customs cutoff like a week ago. If that's the case, then yes, because they passed through customs on Wednesday. I had no clue. Bonus!

My Tricker's Burford in espresso scotch grain with brown dainite soles. These are on the 2298 last vs the 4497 of the Stow, and therefore are a little narrower in the forefoot. I sanded and waxed the sole edge. The trickers scotch grain starts out quite plasticky, but softens over time. Background is a cheap green Ikea rug in my office. Where may I ask did you find that last? That is the last I need at 4497 is a bit sloppy for me.

I believe all of the Burford and (not)Stows they make for STP are on the 2298. I agree with you--the 2298 has a snugger fit, but still looks like a nice, rounded country boot. The STP "Stow" lacks a storm welt as well. FTR, I normally wear a 12US (converse, etc.), wear a 10.5 in the 4497, and 11 in the 2298. The longwings are on a 4444, and are a 10.

I tried on some 2298 in 11.5 (no fit 5) at their store and I'm a US 12C. They fit well. Interesting that the 11 fits you well. I guess I'll go look at STP.

The 11 was snug on my large left toe at first, and I had to shove a screwdriver handle in there and leave it for a couple of days to loosen it up a bit. Frankly, the 11.5 would probably fit me better (half sizes are identical in length, they just have increased volume). Sadly, STP is out of stock at the moment.

Those look great. I'd get those even if I didn't know how to fit them into my wardrobe.

The sole makes it.

These look incredible. Redditor on r/GYW is asking $625 for them, and you could probably haggle it down to $600 or less.

I am a wet blanket but those shoes do absolutely nothing for me. The pull tab, double sole, pebbled leather. Overload for me.

I agree, but I find I really don't like designs with double thick soles or high stacked heels. A minimal gyw doesn't lend itself to the thinnest outsole, but once they start thickening that up they all look like creepers to me, and I have no interest in them. I'm all for minimal outsoles which tends to push me away from the sturdier English brands.

Trickers shell boots and regular boots for 20% off at Superdenim using code MAY20. Up your alley, stinky.

It's possible these would have been too purple for Prince to have worn.

The sole and lining are just bad. A black or brown sole would have helped immensely and if they were just going for stupid, they came up short by not using these:

Don't laugh. I had that colour of Stow boots, but with orange soles. Sold now, though.
