@untucked remind me wich cut you got. Did you buy 2 pairs, there is a pic but not much text, and are they the same cut. Please tell us more I would love some more info.
And I believe you had a pair to sell that you were gonna check the sizing on?

Yes its alot of fabric up there. This is a taste of how a Gustin straight looks on me.
I am very amazed at the rest of the jean tho, all pics I have seen have been with much more flare-out from the knee down, yours looks good even before soak. Yes a little big at the hem but they arent even soaked yet.

My 012 came and they are a little too big. They are however so nice that I cannot try any shrink-ectomy on them. I just hotsoaked them and hang dryed and sell them here: selvedgestyle.com/thread/873/loomstate-pure-japan-waist-thighickes maybe they fit you? Old26 maybe? So I asked denimio to send me the smallest pair but after soak they are exactly spot on!!! from the guide, this is really impressive. Now I know that the general fit fits me and that they are very nice. I still dont know If I want to pay the price from greeninblue so I think I will get the 007 instead.

I'll warn you.... If they are tight when you first get them... They will be REALLY tight after you wash them eventually

@untucked does that go for the once washed as well? I'm thinking 34 one wash xx-018, because the measurements seem spot on. The 34 raw xx-018 seems to be about a 36 waist to start and would be loose on me before a wash.

If you are thinking on the 007 bought from Japan, just note the current batch of raw 007s runs a bit smaller in the waist. For example, blue in green measures 34" pre soak for a tag-size 32. I had to size up one at Okayama, tag-size 33, to get to a 34" waist. The downside is you do get a larger leg opening by sizing up.

Measurements aside, I made an effort to avoid the one-wash as I read in other forums that the one washing and drying is a very industrial process and the denim seems to take a beating. Sounded to me like raw was a better path to "sick-fades" and minimizing indigo loss, if you care about it.

Of course they stretch back, but if you already ordered them small with the intentions of stretching, washing them and drying them would make them too small to put on and stretch back out

This is what I used for the 012 and it was very accurate.

You havent washed them in the machine right?

You havent washed them in the machine right? Yes, they shrunk with a hot soak. Yes, they shrank again, EVEN MORE when I put them through the washer and dryer (I have machine washed and dried both pairs at least 3x). This is denim, people. It's COTTON. Even sanfordized Levi's will shrink when washed and dried. I don't know the details of their once washed methods, but I don't imagine it to be a "harsh industrialized" method. Doesn't seem like they would do that. I imagine a cold bath with an agitator... No detergent... Air dry

Do you mean you tumble dry?
Please specify how you wash them, what temp and how you dry. I havent seen this "more shrink" before unless we talk tumbling.

Absolutely I'm talking about tumble dry, lol. Tumble dry in a Japanese gas dryer.
My hot soaks are at 70°C, and wash is in cold water, because Japanese washing machines usually don't have a temperature option.

I'm not one to pamper my clothes. I machine wash and dry everything I own. Sometimes, I'll do a hand wash, but almost 100% of the time is a machine dry. The humid weather in Okinawa doesn't facilitate line drying very well ask the time.

I sense a smidge of irony here and cannot figure out wich part is what. You did say dryer so Im asuming its some sort of contraption, however gas sounds like the funny part of the message, am I right?

No, I'm actually 100% serious. Japanese clothes dryers are gas, not electric. They get so damn hot, my IH-666XHS (25oz) were dry in 30 mins!!!!!

Wow thats pretty amazing, dont turn it on too hot - the jeans WILL DISAPPEAR!! We used to have dry summers here but its been getting more and more humid, its something to get used to for sure. Dryer settings: - Dry - More dry - Pretty damn dry - Are you crazy? - Disintegrate

That is sort of what I'm getting. If you plan on hot wash and machine dry then go to a 35 or a 36 (and really hot wash and hot dry them).

That is sort of what I'm getting. If you plan on hot wash and machine dry then go to a 35 or a 36 (and really hot wash and hot dry them). I don't want to give any exact advice, but this is how I thought when buying mine: If they are tight like APC's when I buy them, after wash/dry they will be to small top get back in to. If they are tight when I buy them, they will shrink and fit like APC's and I'll struggle to get back in to them. If they fit me when I buy them, they will be tight when I wash/ dry them. If they are slightly big when I buy them, they will shrink down to fit me correctly after I wash them If they are baggy, they will shrink down to be slightly big when I wash them. ********** I bought mine to initially fit me. After soaking, they shrunk down but easily stretched back to a good fit. 2 months later, I did a machine wash and machine dry. They shrunk even more than they did with the hot soak, but once again stretched back to how they initially fit me. I'm no PBJ expert, but I would assume you could expect the same of all of their 14oz washed once jeans. If buying a raw pair, I would size up one from whatever you decide is a good fit. My 2 pairs both stretch back to the way they fit when I first bought them, so I would guess they don't stretch back to the raw size after you wash them

In a moment of weakness, I ordered the XX-009s (one wash) from Blue in Green. Here's hoping I got the sizing right.

It's peanut butter jelly time! They fit good, so I cold washed them to get any shrink out of the way and am letting them air dry now. I'll be wearing them the rest of the week, I think. Absolutely dig the look of the material. Can't wait to see it break in.
