Why thank you. I will look into each of those today. I know for a fact that red wings really didn't catch my attention. Wearing mine now. They're giving you the (boot) finger. Can I get a photo?

So I've been checking Reddit every now and then and found this guy: https://www.reddit.com/r/rawdenim/comments/5javh7/you_guys_have_given_me_some_great_constructive/ It seems like this guy knows his stuff. He's based out in Canada and I asked him what fits he will make. He basically said this: If you guys have any question let me know and I'll shoot them over to him. I'll keep you guys update once he updates me with the process.

Boots are one of those areas that if you live in the US, you might as well buy some American made boots. Plus all of these are either Goodyear or Blake welted and easily resoleable. $200ish range on sale Redwing Heritage Wolverine 1k Mile $300ish Rancourt Eastland made in Maine (really just Rancourt) Thorogood Danner $400-$500 Truman Nicks Whites Oak Street Alden I'm sure I left a few good choices out, but those are all US made, quality boots. The Danner outlet store by me has INSANE deals. I've never paid more than $170 for any Danners. If anyone ever needs a specific pair I can check. That's great. Appreciate it. I will check danners outs. Hopefully something will catch my attention.

I've owned 9 pairs of boots in the last few years. Two Danner, Wolverine, Chippewa, Merrell, Stacy Adams chukka, Whites, Red Wing, and a pair I made myself. My Iron Rangers are my favorite and most comfortable boot. They can be had for about 219 on Amazon when they have sales. I threw a small 3/4 arch support in them. I went down half a size from my brannock and they are near perfect. I have wide ass feet with bunions, high arches, and a lot of volume. Hope that helps. Thanks.

Look at the boot thread in footwear. Depends on how much you want to spend but I went from timberland boot company to red wings to wolverines to rag n bones to my current Truman boots. I had Clarks in the past but did not find them comfortable for my feet. Redwings and thorogood are decent made in USA if you care for that under 200 depending on models. Thank you. I'll check out rag n bones. I took a look at red wings, but nothing caught my attention.

to add, a lot of us got our start with Gustin and after the novelty of their business model wore off we all abandoned ship and tried different brands. we started cheap and then gradually went to the more expensive brands either due to fit, better quality control, style, or all of the above. I've tried many different brands and now that I own a bunch of stuff I honestly can't say I have a favorite. I like some brands and could leave other brands. that's the thing that sucks about denim, you invariably wind up trying different brands to see what works best for you and after spending hundreds or thousands of dollars you either give up or you realize you've just wasted a sh*t ton of money. we're also a bunch of enablers here on this forum, so that doesn't help either. I see what you're saying. Right now I'm trying to figure out what fit is best for me. As in slim straight or slim tapered. I love them both, so it's somewhat hard to figure out which I'll stick with.

For me, more taper and higher rear rise than a Gustin Slim. Many tapered cuts don't have enough rise for my tastes though. I see, I like both styles. Might just get 2 or the slim tapered from rave star and get 2 sk and 2 Stanton from rgt

Ugh, I would like to do that, but since I began my raw / selvedge bend I can't stop. So far I have 4 pairs of 511 selvedge from Levi's 2 pairs of slim straights from brave star and 2 pairs of Chelsea's from left field. I just need 2 RGTs and maybe 2 pairs of PBJ... that happens when you first discover raw/selvedge denim. you get sucked into the denim rabbit hole and try to claw your way back out. seriously though, once you've hit a dozen pairs the novelty will quickly wear off and you'll find yourself down to wearing 2 or 3 pairs at any given time. but then you'll discover other stuff like jackets, flannel shirts, leather goods, boots/trainers etc. I think most of us have easily spent several thousand or more on clothing purchases. a lot of us have scaled back as well, hence the no spend threads. this hobby, like any other, is an easy way to wind up in the poor house if you don't curb your purchases. Understandable. I actually have about 10 flannels a few leather goods such as wallets. I have quiet a few jackets so I know I'm fine with that part. Now as for boots. I need some good boots. I agree with what you are saying about this hobby. It is very expensive, but after my next 2/4 purchases I'll clam the storm down. Well at least try to.

So I have slim straight and tapered but I like how the slim straight fit on the waist compared to the tapered, but I like how the tapered looks on me besides how they fit on the waist. My brave star are slim straight and I think I should of went with the tapered style instead, but I'm thinking about getting my brave star denim hemmed to be tapered. I think in the long run I'll stick with having both type of slim denim just to have a different fit each time.
What are your thoughts?

I usually purchase 2 of the same pairs. One to break in the other to keep under wraps until I'm ready to break them in.

alphatectzWere your jeans pretty close to the fit guide? Yes, besides the waist and crotch area.

Or send them to Railcar and have the waist brought in for 40 bucks Railcar? I thought you couldn't alter anything besides the leg by tapering them...

Oh. Put on a little weight I see. Good weight. Thighs are getting bigger from squatting. This becomes an issue when you're a denimhead though because you realize that your options start to become more and more limited if your waist doesn't grow with your thighs. True, I'm planning on slimming down a bit. Currently at 235. Would like to drop down to 200 flat.

I'm staying away from black. I forgot who told me to get the Stantons from rgt. That was probably me, it's the fit I prefer. From what I've seen so far though it looks like you prefer a smaller hem so maybe check out the sk fit, might suit you better?? That's right. Once again thank you. I'll do some research on both fits before I pull the trigger. I don't mind the slim straight fit gives me more leg room and easier to move.

Indeed. I would like to get a few denim shirts, but I'm kinda of bulky so I wouldn't even know where to begin. I'm kinda bulky too but you can always size up and zap in dryer or go custom route like I did. But after you buy lots of denim and figure the fit you like and style you want I think you will slow down and wear what you have. Looks like you may be a sneaker person too. Gotcha, yeah I like sneakers. Mostly air maxes and some Nike sb's and new balance. Looking for a good pair of boots though.

What RgT denim and cut are you considering? Exclusive 17oz black by black just dropped today. Sounds like other exclusives are coming soon. I'm staying away from black. I forgot who told me to get the Stantons from rgt.

Oh I'm not done yet. Rgt will be my next pickup. Now as for the wear. The Left field " Chelsea " are slimmer than the Brave Star since those are Slim Straight. I'm post up a few photos of the Left field after I reply to this. well I should hope you're not done yet! you are just getting started! Indeed. I would like to get a few denim shirts, but I'm kinda of bulky so I wouldn't even know where to begin.
