Got the monster twill chinos yesterday. They are maybe my favorite G purchase to date. Heavy, but with a nice drape. And they are so nice to touch.Like the chino version of the IH 21 oz denim. I think I'm going to like them better than my IH-707s, if that's possible. They feel like a fine wale corduroy cut on the bias, almost.

I'm really happy they're putting the veg tan patch on these. Seems like a no-brainer, but...

IH used to use Zimbabwe cotton, but switched several years back to US, unbeknownst even to Giles for a few years. Nobody noticed. So, maybe this is an old roll of deadstock (which would be pretty damn cool), or maybe somebody made an assumption based on the fact that it was from IH. Or maybe it's neither, I guess. But this is a pretty specialized fabric that not many would bother using, so I'm still betting on IH.

I'm with whiskeyriver. It looks like G somehow got a rogue roll or two of IH signature 21 oz. the color and cell bitch ears are dead ringers. Gonna take a flyer on these for 115, even though I already have 666-XHS and 301S. That fabric is so good. Now, what size?

Just got mine. I'm a little nervous. I went up to 38 slim from my usual 36 slim, but these are coming in at 37.5" if I stretch them and the rise already feels lower than a lot of the 36s I have. Not gonna lie--the top button needed some elbow grease... I might do what matt is doing and cold soak the top block and hot soak the legs. This is about the third or fourth pair of denim that has come in at least an inch under what the size guide says. Pretty frustrating. But let the games begin. Whenever we decide they actually begin. I do love the color on these, though. Midnight blue with bronzish-brown weft with just a little show-through. They feel super lightweight after iron hearts, and a just little lighter than 501 STFs. Here's hoping they don't shrink too much!

Mine are en route. Are we waiting until 1/1/16 to start, or just get them, shrink em, and go?

So I have a few shirts from G that were clearly sewn by the blind, but as I look at the newest red harvest (or whatever it is called) 2-pocket shirt, it is pretty obvious that the model has a right shoulder droop by at least a couple inches. In every one of the current offerings, and I assume in the past, as well. I think this might actually explain the 10 degree, sewn-on-a-ship look that a lot of their shirts have on the webpage.

they came in last week - wore them for the first time yesterday. they're ok. from a build/design view, i'm not a fan of the heel stitch and the tongue is absolutely out of control. i could not get it to stay under my cuff. there was some weird instep issues on my left foot too that grew unpleasant as the day wore on. haven't had a pair of stan smiths in a while so i can't remember if these issues were common to the model or specific to the horween. i do like the way they look though so if i can come up with a solution for the tongue, i'll be wearing them regularly. Dunno if they're your first Stan Smith, but I found them surprisingly uncomfortable initially. After a handful of wears (not sure why any sneaker would need any break-in whatsoever) it became much more relaxed and comfy, but the first 1-4 wears were what I'd call unpleasant. Mine are Raf Stan Smiths, but I imagine a Stan is a Stan in terms of comfort, as the sole is the same across the board. I got mine yesterday and have been wearing them today. I have always worn a 14 in most Adidas (Campus, etc), but these are 13, and the fit is pretty much perfect. I have them laced to the top and through the tongue loop with the latigo laces (not sure how I feel about the latigo laces yet, but going with them for now), and I'm not having any tongue issues at this point. The instep is molding pretty nicely and is already picking up some indigo. The natural color isn't something I'd normally wear and I'm hoping they darken up pretty quickly, or I may have to hit them with a light coat of Obenauf's or something like that in a couple months (I will never not think of wearing the feet of my enemies when I put these on, btw--thanks devastitis). I wasn't sure about the heel stitching, either, but I actually kind of like the welt it makes. Once they're broken in, I'm pretty sure they are going to get a ton of wear.

Or go for both with Oakland legs and an LA top block?

I assume that the "issue" is that they get swatches and buy an appropriate yardage of fabric after the offerings have funded, but it can't be that hard to source a few yards up front and sew up a shirt, right? Or maybe they're worried that they're already always a little late releasing things and that if they sewed up samples, they'd finally get flannels sent out in late spring?

Yeah, things have escalated quickly in this thread. I'm not sure the fades can compete with the banter.

I've color samples of the duck that Ciano has available, and the Gustin offerings of rust, and slate, look to be identical. The slate/gray, is nice, but the rust is a kind of in your face color that I would NEVER consider, but thats just my old ass talking. At least the grey is good, as I have a pair on order from Ciano

My hope is that they expect (relatively) huge demand for the 129 and are increasing production accordingly.

I don't care if other people want to do it, but I did it one time to see what the hype was about, and never again (at least not on purpose). But yeah, seems a little false fadey.

I'm sure I'm "measuring them wrong" or "this denim has a tighter weave" than the other 36 slims I have, but just got the Black3s , and by my measurement, the waist is 17.25-17.5", and there is about 1.5" gap when trying to close the top button. Thighs are super tight, too. Super irritating, even if it were only the first (instead of the 3rd) time it has happened. sigh.

Well, I just made the recommendation in reply to a CS email. I actually like all the flannels they have up now, if someone who knew how to align patterns were sewing them without buttondown collars.
