LF heavy slub, RgT supply jacket, Gitman vintage, RW rough out belt, RW olive merchants. I’m coming for ya disheveled ! Love the led field collect slubs Yeah, they're pretty great. It's always surprising to me that LF doesn't seem to get the IG love as much as comparable brands like RgT and 3sixteen. The Chelsea fit is pretty much perfect for me. For the most part, I only wear them on weekends in the winter, so the fades aren't striking yet, but the early developments are encouraging. Much more so than my G Oky's and my Tellasons with Cone denim.

It depends on your definition of abnormally tall. Does 6’5” qualify? If so, then yes. The pic is also taken with a slight upward angle which might make the jacket look shorter than it really is. The jacket hits a little below the belt, which works pretty well for me. Freak!!! Kidding. We've got a 7'1" guy in my office. He ducks for the Exit signs. Actually seems like a pain in the ass. I crammed a 6'8" German colleague in my old M Coupe for a few minutes, that can't have been comfortable. I certainly wouldn't want to be any taller. I think 6'3" or so would probably be perfect. Fitting into airplane seats and theater seats is problematic. Lots of cars are tough too. Legroom tends to be less of an issue, headroom is usually what gets me. 6'8" would be terrible, 7'1" would be torture.

It's weird that a Supply hits me a solid two inches lower. Are you abnormally tall? 6'2" here. It depends on your definition of abnormally tall. Does 6’5” qualify? If so, then yes. The pic is also taken with a slight upward angle which might make the jacket look shorter than it really is. The jacket hits a little below the belt, which works pretty well for me.

Well played, Nate! Jealous of the tucked in look, it affords such nice cohesion with the shorter jacket. Thanks. Not normally a tuck in the shirt with jeans guy, but I wanted to show off my new belt!

There are a lot of things I like about Red Wing, but my favorite might be that I get stuff delivered the day after I order it. Like I ordered something yesterday around lunch and it will be waiting for me when I get home from work today. I didn't even pay for the fancy shipping, just the regular ol' free shipping. That said, I do live about 60 miles from Red Wing, so you're results may vary.

The first picture you posted is the one I like best. Well lit mirror selfies aren't bad either and show the all important fit and proportion of an outfit. Keep em coming Nate! Thanks for the encouragement. I’m not sure I’ll ever be the photographer you are. Sadly, the only full length mirror in my house is in a poorly lit closet. Most likely I’ll just keep posting crappy shots, but who knows. Maybe I’ll show a modicum of improvement.

Is this pic better? Probably not. Same stuff as before minus the supply jacket. Maybe see some early fades?

I’m relatively new to the IG scene, so I haven’t grown tired of it yet. That said, many feeds are kinda repetitive. I’m not really into brands either, but more interested in how pieces are being worn. For example, my recent acquisition of a 1.5” belt was largely due to IG influences. A wider belt just looked better in a bunch of pictures. I don’t know. It’s probably not something I’ll still be doing in 5 years, but for now it’s fine. Disheveled’s feed is good. I like vinyl 66 too. It’s interesting that there seems to be a RW IG camp, and a Truman/viberg IG boot camp. Bothrops1 is a local feed that I like pretty well. The clothes are pretty good, though not really my aesthetic, but he also goes to a lot of local restaurants and I like to keep on top of that scene too. Another local guy, corymahlke is super creative. I think gaseousclay told me about him.

I assume lots of folks here are on instagram. I don't have an account, but I lurk on a few accounts. Some are pretty cool. Of course our very own defy_delphi is great. What other handles do people keep an eye on?

I've picked up a couple of things in 2018, but not much. The wine oxford from Ratio is awesome, as always. The IH grey henley thermal is great too. I wear a XXL in IH shirts and went with a XL for the henley and it's plenty big. I was most worried about length with sizing down, but its not an issue. I bought a tan belt from a local leather shop, Leatherworks Minnesota and it has, unfortunately, gotten me into belts. I just ordered a belt from Red Wing yesterday in their rough out Muleskinner leather. It's 1.5" wide rather than my other belts that are 1.25", which I think will go better with denim. Finally, in my attempt to find a new source for MiUSA underwear after Ibex (RIP) went under, I got some underwear from Pistol Lake. They're OK. Good price. My fave of the three brands I've tried (Pistol Lake, Flint and Tinder, Duckworth) so far is Duckworth. Unfortunately, Duckworth is also the most expensive, probably because they use wool.

Horse tartare is a pretty common thing to see on menus in Quebec. Not bad, but I prefer cow for tartare-related dining. I'm not sure I'd do raw chicken though. On a related note, I had a crazy college roommate who started drinking some kind of bacterial slurry that he claimed allowed him to eat unlimited amounts of uncooked meat. "It's a panacea!" he'd say. Like I said, he was nuts. I think we all have the ability to eat unlimited amounts of uncooked meat. We did it for millions of years...but we do live longer these days. For me, the taste of raw meats is not that great...and definitely not worth the uncomfortable way it feels. So I do it as a challenge. Some people climb mountains. Word for the day, "bacterial slurry" I should have clarified. He claimed he could eat uncooked meat and not succumb to the inevitable campylobacter, E. coli, salmonella, shigella, etc. infection with accompanying explosive diarrhea.

Since travel is just a side-gig for this board, I will try to keep my trip discussions short. This last trip had me go through Kyoto for the plum blossoms and then to Tokyo area for work. While in Kyoto, I went to Mr. Kanso. It is a bar where everything is in cans. You grab a can off the shelf, and if it requires cooking, they cook it for you. A can of spam was 650 yen and my oolong tea was about 400 yen...but totally worth it. The bartender was a happy older japanese guy who smoked too many cigarettes. I think the job of talking to people in such a setting was a perfect job for him. In the photo, you can see an old business man taking his can selection seriously. I really liked this small and dimly lit bar. I don't know if you have just even cooked up a whole can of cheese spam by itself...it is way too much for two people to eat by without bread or rice. The bartender boxed up the leftovers and it was awesome in sandwiches on the bullet train to Shin Yokohama. In Tokyo, I got out of my work related stuff, took a train 1.5 hours to Ueno to buy a zippo lighter. FOr those of you who don't collect such things, they are made in USA, but there are some only sold in Japan. It is a big deal for me because this shop in Ueno has a huge selection and the prices are good (for japan). Then I beat feet over to one of my favorite ramen shops. Kikanbo. The kanji for the shop is more like "kinabo" which is the spiked metal rod that the japanese devil (oni) carries. If something is unstoppable (like a juggernaut), you say it is "oni ni kinabo" or something like that which means "the devil with his spiked smashing stick"...which is unstoppable. The shop is dark and plays taiko drums non-stop (my favorite kind of drums...you ever see Japanese ladies beat the hell out of taiko drums and yell? It is intense, braaaah). There are two different kinds of peppers they can add. I get low and low for both. I went medium and medium once and it was difficult to finish. Look at that. I wish I was eating it now. kikanbo.co.jp/and there is the plum blossoms at the Kitano Tenmangu shrine in Kyoto. I need to travel home sometime soon before my mom disowns me, but after that...I am hoping for something wild this summer. Myanmar? Nepal? Mongolia? I think Nepal is the top choice. I want to see mongolia after watching that movie about the blind american blues guy who traveled to mongolia to compete in their throat singing competition...but I also want to sleep comfortable and poop in normal toilets. I am weak like that. (It took me 8 years to learn how to do the whistling throat singing...I am no Ondar Kongarol, but whatever. Good enough for me) UPDATE! Forgot to add the picture from the izakaya I went to with a work group I was a part of. HORSE SASHIMI! Chicken Sashimi! I ate them before, but not this time. Oh, it says the chicken is cooked, but it is just lightly cooked on the outside. Gross, man. Neither really tasted like much, but it was a horrible experience...and that is why I did it. Traveling should be full of suffering. by the end of all of my travels, it is my goal to hate it so much that I can't wait to get back to work. That is how I know I hit it hard.

Ordered a grey thermal Henley last night in XL with a request to send the longest one they had in stock. This morning there was an email waiting for me from Paula saying they found one that was almost an inch longer than spec. Looks like it will arrive on Friday. Pretty good.

Still don't understand how you sell moving production to China and not lowering prices one bit. Dicks. I know I'm not the first person to say this, but it bears repeating. When you move production to China, there is literally nothing that separates you from dozens and dozens of other brands.

Reddit AMA for TS next week, intrigued how that will go. Expect a few questions to come out that we see here, hope they answer. Did anyone read this? No new insights on the decision to go to China for a lot of their production.

I'm looking for a gray thermal henley. The IHTL-1213 seems to be the only one out there, maybe? Anyone have one of these? disheveled, you've been henley crazy lately, do you have one? My IH shirts are XXL, and I'd probably do a XL in this one.

Olive Waxed Flesh Service Boot--2030 last--riding on commando soles Caught wind of a few more Viberg make ups using this leather. These are from Brooklynclothing Nice looking boots. What is waxed flesh anyway? Is it just a rough out, but waxed? EDIT: Through the power of the internets, I answered my own question. Yes, it is a waxed rough out.

You can also look at Left Field NYC and Rogue Territory. They both have duck canvas chinos. Taylor Stitch may have them too. Gustin will occasionally carry duck canvas chinos, but each of their pieces are only available during a funding campaign so you might have to wait awhile. CF chinos are pretty good, but be prepared to wait quite awhile. I’d expect 6 months.

Ordered a $48 purple OCBD today sans pocket with a reworked pattern to fit a little more trim. Read somewhere that purple is the color of the year for 2018 and thought, why not. Having it delivered to my parents house in Tennessee; I’ll be leaving Oregon this Wednesday and will likely beat the shirt. Gonna be a nice welcome back present to myself. got my wine Oxford last week. It’s so great. And mine was $48 too, after a $50 credit was applied.

Agree with DigDug/Bentin - its a great shirt. Looked hard at that 3sixteen one, but cost/TS fit won that one for me. Bentin is right on fading too, nothing drastic to see there. You are all making compelling arguments. However, I just got two ratio shirts a month ago with another waiting for me when I get home. PLUS, I don't give my heavy IH shirts the wear they deserve as it is. I gotta sit this one out. I do like the fabric and snaps though.

Give it a year, they'll be down to one or two feel good items that are MiUSA and the rest will be rebadged J Crew / Alex Mill / Faherty / RRL anonymous Chinese shizz. Even though I don't need any more heavy shirts I can't wear to my office, I was looking at that indigo terrycloth shirt. Still MiUSA! It's on sale at $98. You have one of those right? How do you like it? Any fades yet?
