Also, that thread tends to share my dislike for chukkas! Reddit is a bit too intense and claustrophobic for me, so I don't venture there that often...which I why I prefer something smaller like this forum (but this pond does continue to dry up). It seems that everyone here loves the chukkas and I was starting to think there was something wrong with me...but now I know, I am not special. There are others out there! Hooray! I will not wear: Chukkas Chelseas Moc Toe Boots Hiking Boots (though those FEIT wool lined hikers are fun) As the days go by I get closer to disliking brouge'd boots as I am leaning towards they belong on shoes which is warming me up to LWB. Speaking of LWB, this Buday shell SWB has been haunting me: www.styleforum.net/content/type/61/id/1949559/

I moved past my desire for moc toe boots. Growing up only carpenters and drywallers wore them and my kin were neither of those.....

I loved that fabric on the DR Benzak's when I saw it in the newsletter, I am just not yet ready to spend $300 on jeans.
I have been all sorts of happy with Bravestar lately. I just rinsed and wore the chino in slim taper two days in a row. They came in slightly longer than the last two pairs I have and a slightly different case to the combat chino color, but really nice.
As far as fabric goes on the Bravestars, the coal is the inferior fabric IMO.
Other Bravestar happiness is the straight taper cut. So into that pattern.

For you who have ordered from Ratio before a question. What is the relationship between what my tailor measured me and the measurements asked for in the fit survey? For example, I'm a 46L but most of the shirts I buy are 50" in actual measurement. So do I put in 46 or 50 for chest? Thanks! Actual body dimensions. I will warn you that Ratio is pretty agreesive on sizing though. I'm a 41" chest, but tend to shoot for a 45-46 chest with an 18.5" shoulder. Their suggested template was 44 and 18, which fits, but is a bit on the tight side. Just review their measurements. Good to know. I emailed their CS as well. Which fit did you choose? I did average body and slim fit. I think their is a relationship between those two options. Bonus was my Tailor, that I'm just establishing a relationship with, reminded me that the old Hugo Boss factory is still making suits and their contract work is for Hickey Freeman and some other place I forget the name of. So I need to go suit shopping soon.

I'm wearing my TS Army Jack today. I love the fit, material and that's it's MiUSA. If it were made in China, it would just be another shirt though. $20 is sort of my ceiling for MiC shirts. I've got to pay for this MiC iPhone X somehow... Nice try and thanks for the thought. I remember seeing these guys a few months back as that black camo shirt caught my eye. They have bad sleeve measurements. I need to know what the shoulder is or the entire sleeve length from center back to bottom of sleeve, you know, like your supposed to list it. Also, as I have been getting weary of plaids I have also grown weary of button down collars. TS chamois shirt is just about a perfect fit for me and their new MiC army green shirt does not have a button down collar. Bonus for me. Basically I'm trying to avoid buy button down collars as I'm just tired of them.

I'll probably end up with that new Army shirt and the Tan chamois shirt.
I know Mic, but well fitting solid staples work for me.
I've been moving away from patterns a bit in my winter clothing. I'm getting plaid-ed out.

I ate my first tartare--grass fed cow sirloin--with an egg yoke on top last week and it was damn tasty! Probably would have been even better if it was grain fed. Subtle, delicate flavor with a lovely texture/mouth feel. I will try horse meat sooner than later--hopefully both raw and medium rare. Next up, carpaccio. I like grass fed for my regular beef consumption but grain can be fun as well. There was a friend from Germany who had her nephews come over once a year. One of the first things they always wanted to do was get to an American steakhouse so they could get some of that grain fed USDA beef.

Side zips look WAY better to me; the straps on the jodhpur look femi I think grown men shouldn't have zippers or velcro on their footwear...but that is just me. In regards to this monstrosity, the one thing I always have to remind myself is that my jeans will cover most of the boot. That's the thing, to me it's like a whole-cut boot. ALso, it's the only Jodhpur I've ever seen that I like. I can get into this version much easier than Chelseas. I really like the side zips too, but I'm too old for them. IMO it's like a 20 something Rock and Roll boot. As to zippers not being on boots, I really like the lace zip combo. Epaulet makes some like that that are pretty nice. I've had one pair of zip/lace boots before and it's pretty nice when you get the laces set to just zip your foot in and be done.

Check out Vibergs IG.
The just announced side zips and the Jodhpur's are fantastic. Especially the latter.
I thought I did not like Jodhpur's till I saw these.

Plus they're non selvedge, so he's clearly a rube. Most likely. But....are the funky patches enough to save his rep? Ohh FFS, they look ridiculous with those effen jeans.

I'm with you NC. I can get past the double thick sole easier than the bulbous toe, but I respect this look on dudes that own it/wear it well That taper on the skinny(ish) jeans on the photo really throws them off. IMO you need a wider leg opening to pull that off. Looks like he has Lego feet.

I *want* to like these but man, just seem a little too thick.
I am quite close to jumping into the double mid-sole style and trying that out. On the bubble on that concept but I do like how they look on the soon to be released C461 Whites oxfords.

Shop.brooklynclothing.com $658 and free shipping to North America (DEFYFREESHIPPING) Pre orders close March 10th on the dark olive waxed flesh 2030 last Thanks for the heads up. That's still about $200 more than I paid for my Nicks or Whites though. Your boots do look great.

Yeah, I don't like that either. Thats why I want Whites. Fit is incredible for me and the toe is not super bulbous like that Viberg last.

Thanks for confirming, Nate. That was my guess too, but never looked it up. These will be perfect for Seattle's rain! Really love the half gusseted black tongue. This is the leather that I was trying to source for a pair of Whites Semi-Dress. Horween was willing to sell it to me, but buy the time I paid for the leather and the boots, my Whites Semi-Dress would cost as much as these Vibergs! Congrats man. Those are sweet. I'm still trying to decide if the 2030 is for me. I like the pair of 2030's I have but I'm just not in love with the last, though it looks really good.

So... I bought a house. I guess that counts as a 2018 purchase. It probably also means i'll be scaling back on this hobby at least until we get settled in. Welcome to that club. No idea what the situation is but spend the $300 for an energy audit. The sooner you identify and fix weatherization issues, the more money you will save over the period you own the house, and you can add it to the listing as a feature when you sell.

Thanks for the response davelewis ! Not a rider, but thanks for reminding me my line up has a glaring leather jacket hole in it! It sounds to me like you need to take a ride up to Greenwood Ave., and check out Thurston Bros Rough Wear. I have no doubt they would be able to help you fill that jacket hole! Sorry if that sounded kind of nasty, lol www.thurston-bros.com/collections/aero-leather-clothing-of-scotlandI have been eyeballing a few for a couple years. My hope is to get to Scotland and buy one at the factory.

That print is in my watchlist, as well. With better weather on the way, it may very well wind up being my first. I think it's their best print with the second being the blue flowers on the white ground. I'm also very into the navy seersucker, but I'd drop the button down collar.

Trying to understand the difference between the G Natural Twill vs. Duck and they have the same description with the twill being the correct description. I like the look of the twill better myself and the price seems right. Both would make a much better workshirt, but I suppose those are dead. But here's all you need to know about twill cs canvas/duck. Twill has a linear pattern, where canvas has a more uniform pattern. Jeans are nearly always twill. Thanks Yeah, I like the unevenness and the odd dye pattern of the twill in the picture. Plus, duck seems much easier to acquire. OTOH I don't typically wear jeans in the summer.

I keep stopping myself from using the coupon as I have seen the advanced options. I have been avoiding taking that list to a tailor the past 6 months but I really need to make that appointment and take care of it. I'm pretty hung up on this one:
