Did anyone get a shipping notice for the J17's yet? Still nothing for me. Nada. Seems to be another missed deadline, one of many for the Japan 17s. Not sure how it is G took the entire month of February to deliver a 'finished' product. I don't mind waiting, but the least they could do is give more realistic updates. I received 2 updates, both completely inaccurate. Currently at 3 months and counting. What is going on with their production?? I don't mind waiting either, until a certain point. Except that I've got about 3 weeks of cold weather left, so these will go on the closet until next year. What irrtates me is the lack of communication and completely wrong updates. They need to be proactive in reaching out. At this point, any more delays constitute more than a $10 credit.

I have lost so much fat and gained muscle by following the specific carbohydrate diet. I do it because of a health condition, but the added benefit is the fat loss. I don't work out often and I've dropped from 190 to 160 and lowered body fat % quite a bit. Would that be low carbs I assume? Keto is an Intresting diet. Currently trying lower carbs see if that helps. I follow the SCD to combat a condition called SIBO, which has caused stomach problems for me. SCD focuses on cutting out fermentable polysacchrides and starches, gut irritating foods, killing Bacteria and healing the stomach. I eat carbs, but only from certain fruits and veggies. I can also eat honey in small amounts. No rice, no grains, no beans (black beans are permitted 6 months in), no lactose, no additives, low or no alcohol and only those low in residual sugar. I don't work out often as I am usually too busy. If I worked out 3-4 times a week I'd be ripped. Here's a sample day of what I ate yesterday: Breakfast: 3 eggs, cup of homemade yogurt (lactose free after 24 hour ferment), banana Lunch: Oil cured olives, apple, slice of gouda (aged 60 days lactose free), leftover chicken thigh, banana. Dinner: Skin on split chicken breast, roasted brocoli, yogurt sauce, sautéed mushrooms, arugula with olive oil. Snacks are almond butter, coconut oil, fruit etc. Higher in fat and protein, but I have never felt better. I've naturally trimmed down a ton, and put on muscle easily when I have time to work out. It's a lot of work, because I have to scratch cook everything I eat. However it's a very healthy, body healing, way to live that has the added benefit of cutting fat and adding muscle due to the high protein. If you want huge gains, this isn't the best. If you want to be healthy, this diet rocks.

That sleeve measurement seems really short at 25". The car coat sleeves are 35", what am I missing?

I'm considering a 12 oz car coat in charcoal but an unsure about slim or regular. Would you mind taking measurements p2p and shoulder? We have identical body types and measurements I am looking at the original email about the measurement. P2P 21, Shoulder 18 and Sleeve 25, back length 28, mid 19. Sleeve Width 7.5, cuff 5 You rock. Thanks

It is a prototype...... I am sure Ciano will adjust the measurements after he saw my fit photos. Btw, the 18oz canvas fabric is very thick and it fits like an armor. If I do it again, I think 12oz will drape better. I'm considering a 12 oz car coat in charcoal but an unsure about slim or regular. Would you mind taking measurements p2p and shoulder? How long did it take from backing to shipping? And did you just go with your G shirt size? I went with my regular G shirt size, medium. I hate the fit, it's just not for me, which is weird since it's a fairly basic tee shirt with nothing unique to it's fit/tailoring in the least. I'd say they fit closer to my J.Crew slim tees than anything else, but they feel short on me - and I'm not a tall guy. I wear a medium in J.Crew tees too, even the slims. I'm probably far more picky about tees than the average Gustin tee backer, though, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I am 5'10" and weigh 160lb, very avg. build. I'm wear Mack Weldon Silver tees, an Outlier Ultrafine Merino tee, and a couple J.Crew tees (no longer opting for the slim ones). As a product alone, the G tees are most comparable to the J.Crew ones, as I'd expected. 5-10 pounds ago, I was wearing the Wallace & Barnes Skivvy Tees and J.Crew slim tees (all in medium), but they were all a bit short for my liking - both in the arms and the torso. Gustin tee pros: the grey material is super soft to the touch, but super thin; the sleeve length is nice (not too short like many others are); I don't observe any QC issues in regards to stitching. Gustin tee cons: the materials do not feel remarkable in the least; the tag inside the collar feels horrible (can't believe these aren't tagless); the grey material makes me look far more out of shape than I am - which may be great for people w/athletic pecs & abs, but on me was the least complimentary top ever. Want to sell one?

Here are couple quick fit pictures. Just to remind everyone that this jacket is a 18oz Duck Canvas in brown with wood carved buttons and powder coat black bucket. It meant to be a "short" traditional American style jacket. It is in size Medium and I am 5'10", 158 lbs with 39 chest/ 31.5 waist. I think the fit looks pretty good. All I can say is I really adore this jacket and the construction is probably as good as any of my jacket in my closet including some high fashion one. I just took it out from the box this morning and it definitely needs some wear to let the fabric to relax a bit. I may also do some treatment to give the "worn out look" to the canvas. For people who has not handle 18oz Duck Canvas before, the fabric is thick and has a very SOLID feel. It is 20 degree outside and I felt totally warm to wear the jacket/sweater/shirt (in the pictures below) to walk 2 minutes to my car. Frankly, I really doubt that you will be able to find a heavy canvas jacket like this in a stores near you with this type of details, with the exception of some high price Japanese brands. Beside canvas, I can also see this style will look good in denim, especially Herringbone and dark indigo. edit: please excuse the rest of my outfit. My work attire is not the best match with the style of this jacket. #1 Button up with shirt & no sweater #2 With a sweater (I can button up without any fit problem) #3 With a sweater. Tighten up the waist by the buckle at the back #4 with the collar standing up Inspiration: Is this in their regular or slim fit?

bennyrum, thank you so much! Would you mind telling me your height and weight? Also, do you think they are worth the money and wait? would you order them again? I'd like to know too. Also, what is your chest size? I'm 5'9 160 and quite a bit more muscular than you and I ordered a size small.

Booooo, got the dreaded 1% email last night. It was the last Gustin order I was waiting for! Now they've sucked me back in! Oh well, store credit plus $10. Now we wait for something great... maybe Zim18's if they come back. What was the product?

Well you were 100% correct. Marked a 35 and 16.75ish waist out of the bag. With initial stretch no way these will end up a 35. Guess these were some returns for being too small. Win for me and good to know going forward. That's ridiculous that they send out items from on-hand stock measuring 2" below spec!! Really dissuades me from ordering. WTF? Seriously. They should discount these more, note them as mislabeled, and provide actual measurements.

Very tempted to get that denim grab bag. Damnit--if only I knew my size! This IS how you learn your size, you won't really have a cheaper chance... I'll know my size next week when my Japan One Sevens arrive. That said I still might get these, unless the grab bag is taken out of what's available in the stock store. The only 31 slim are the unsanforized and that won't work!

It seems like the majority of the nicer, mid to high end clothing companies around are all manufacturing men's wear. Women's clothing is still made of cheap shit, for way too much money. As I have broken into this crowd funded/ higher end clothing world (Gustin, TS, Epaulet, etc.) I have had a hard time finding anything of comparable quality and value for my girlfriend.
She wants a nice pair of raw denim for less than $220, they just don't seem to be out there. She wants good quality boots, tops etc. like we buy.
TS manufactures women's clothing but it is so limited and there seems to be less value in the product. Similarly, a pair of Frye boots that costs $400 is nowhere near the quality of a pair of say White's or Aldens you could pick up for around the same price.
Anyone know of a place?

Has anyone received their Japan One Sevens? Been waiting on these since November. I've been e-mailing Gustin about this for the last week. They claim they'll finish shipping them out in the next 7 days.

Chinos are like a damn unicorn around here. Does anyone actually have any? I need a good pair of true khaki and was thinking of backing the Japan True Khaki right now.

Albert from Gustin emailed me back about the J17's. He said the factory has been giving then inaccurate estimates. They will supposedly ship within the next week. He extended a $10 credit to me.
Good service. Hopefully 7 days is accurate.

Translate the Gustin: "Production status: 2/3: Chinos will continue to ship out this week through early next week." actually means (email on 2/18): "the Khaki Selvedges should be shipping out in the next seven days" and: "Production status: 2/10: Continuing to ship out orders as they finish. Should have all orders shipped by early next week." actually means (email on 2/18): "The Indigo Cashmeres should be shipping out in the next couple of weeks" Going full Bill Clinton on the definition of "should". Would rather be left in the dark than mislead :-( Ha. They told me last week that "it's a safe bet they should ship out by the end of the week". Haven't heard back on the e-mail I sent them two days ago asking for an honest answer.

I know waxed truckers have been done to death but it would be interesting to see TS do their take on it. I guess i'm not particularly fond of their current jacket offerings Neither am I. They're too boxy and rugged.
