Well, not quite as well as the Essex, hehe. And I've been switching back and forth between high and low 70's as our weather vacillates and an surprised how much easier the highs are to take on and pull off than the lows. Also easier to lace to where they won't need to be retightened later. I'm split about 50/50 between highs and lows but will likely replace my lows with the wildly more comfy Vans Pros slip ons and Chimas as they wear out and keep the highs. Not a fan of Vans highs, but may need to try the Mids. I'm thinking hot summer, lows will work better. I didn't mention this before, but I have the Rancourts heritage in the high top (or what they call Mid). They have been my go to pair this winter since we haven't had any snow (that's going to change this weekend with a foot+ coming). Decided that I might as well go with the American made leather and construction (show those Italians how it's done)

Decided I'll pick up a pair of the Rancourt Heritage Lows in Natural Chromexcel. And a pair of Converse 70s lows (sorry ickes no high tops, that's what Boots are for . The Rancourts will age like no other sneakers out there.

is it me or they look a little bright? Most likely. The Royals were. I'd recommend the Olive, Black, Khaki.

Anyone looking for an alternative to jeans. I recommend the Moleskin chinos. I have the army green (wearing them today) and the Royal (which were to bright so I over dyed them with black, making them Navy). They're not the typical fuzzy moleskin. More of a very tight weave, heavyweight Chino.

DigDug the leather Chucks are exactly that. Why are you against hightops? I found them btw, and on sale.as there's only a few sizes left. I'll post a link Not against them, just find them a little to hot come spring/summer

I have a pair of the Rancourts. They're okay, and comfortable, but kind of caught between Vans/Chucks and Oxfords/Wingtips in that awkward no mans land. I think that's what I need. A brown leather seems like it might be the happy medium. I know I like the chromexcel leather. I like the idea of a CP style sneaker but also like the Chucks. Need a style that can pass as a shoe. That can climb a trail or step into a church

Help me out guys. I'm looking for a sneaker to wear to Europe. Something nice classic, to go from street wear to dinner out. No high tops (to hot), I'd think leather over canvas, something that goes with jeans, chinos, slacks.

Got the Koio's Nice sneakers, very good quality. But, not the look I'm going for. Good thing my kids have the same size feet, needed sneakers and like that style.

All black sneakers. So far it's been all boots and Chucks. So I bought a pair of all white sneakers (Greats). But they seem odd to me come evening/nite out. So I'm thinking an all black pair might be more fitting I respect your experimentation at the top. Screw you Vans and Converse, imma buy the real shizz. This is like trying to determine if you like green shirts by starting with an Iron Heart. Do I like Engineer Boots? Let me buy some Role Clubs to check. Can I drive manual? Ferris Bueller looked good in a Ferrari 250GT, let me check eBay for one. I've been rolling on Canvas Chucks, Seavees, SupeGa's long enough. Time to upgrade to some nice leather sneakers, I've done my time in the cheep seats.

Decided to buy a pair of Koio Neros. Now ickes has to show me how to wear black sneakers. Are you talking all black sneakers? All black everything? All black sneakers. You're on your own on all black sneakers. Are you a nurse? I have nipples... Don't nurses wear white?

Got the Common Projects in. To tight, wrong color gray (not as dark as I like). No problem, gave them to my son.
So now I'm on the hunt for a Black pair of sneaks. What are your thoughts on All Black? I find my white Greats and white Nikes to be to bright in the evening/nite. Would a triple black pair work? Hoping to wear these to travel in. I might spring for a pair of CP or just go with another pair of Greats. Any other suggestions?

Chinos were just to big/baggie. Brought them to a tailor (finally found a good one) to have them altered. She's going to take a good 1.5" off the width the entire leg down and some off the seat.

Got my gray chinos in. Fabric is really nice, smooth hand, tight weave, not to heavy or light, good construction... But the cut is on the wider/bigger size. More of a work wear and not a slimmer cut.

Cool fabrics. Pricey but I get it. Don't see them as a Chino, would be to busy for my taste. Won't be backing any, I have to many work shirts now.

Sorry Guys, had to back Chukka Loden Suede At $200 it's a good deal. Made in Mexico, so I know they'll be made right I like those. Seem better done than the Thursdays, which I think are also made in Mexico. I just can't get behind the brand. I get it, I try but these just fill a hole in my line up. Couldnt find anything close
