I have graduated to wearing merino underwear also. Oh yeah? I'll see your wool underwear and raise you tweed toilet paper!

I have graduated to wearing merino underwear also. Can't tell if joking but people totally do. Icebreaker makes the most affordable merino underwear but their stuff is so lightweight and thin that it doesn't have a long life (goes for their tees, base layers, all of it). I wear Mack Weldon Silver undershirts & boxer briefs. Pretty amazing (though costly) stuff. For those who wish to get similar qualities to Silver & merino, the best affordable alternative is Uniqlo Airism. Your feet will typically sweat LESS in merino than in cotton or poly/blend socks. Less sweat means more comfort and less stink. Outlier socks are about as thick as the average dress/formal sock though so I find that I rarely sweat in them at all, which is hard to believe in Central Texas. Using a wool laundry detergent (Woolite, at the very least) makes a big difference in how long they wear & how well the wool works. I wear merino tees and/or button downs almost every day, Woolite is better than non-wool detergent but it sucks compared to the likes of Kookaburra.

I just scored 4 pairs of Icebreaker wool socks @ Marshalls for under $20. Never heard of the brand, but apparently they are US made of NZ merino wool.

Welp. My feet don't fit in CHUP socks. The cotton ones aren't even close the wool ones are a bit bigger.
8.5EE feet man these are narrow socks.length is fine but not width.

Re: wool underwear. I have a few pairs of Ibex merino underwear which I really love, although the waistband stiching seems a little dodgy as I've gotten quite a few loose threads coming off. They really don't stink after a day, even with swamp ass, but I've never pushed the limits with multiple days of wear without washing. They are neither too hot nor too cool; I wear them all year long. They are quite pricy, but Ibex pretty reliably has sales two or three times a year, so I just get 'em then. Maybe this is fodder for another thread, but what are experiences with made in USA underwear, particularly merino? Ibex are made in the USA. I've also tried Flint and Tinder boxers (not wool) which are so-so. Haven't coughed up for Choctaw Ridge. Any other brands?

Sounds like only the socks are made in the USA the rest used to be made in New Zealand but moved manufacturing to China. Sounds like they are very conscious of how they treat their workers. Wool grown in Nwe Zealand. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icebreaker_(clothing)

Great price! I see they only have size L, with no sizing guide of course, and I saw a review stating they run small. I am assuming you also bought the large size, so what size shoe do you wear? I'm a 11 1/2-12 depending on shoe brand, and have a feeling they will be too small.

Sizing is another great point re: socks. I also refuse to purchase from any maker who still claims that one size fits all. There is no magic material that expands or contracts enough to comfortably fit a span of 5-6 full shoe sizes. I wear 8 - 9.5 depending on the shoe and every 'one size fits all' sock ends up with a heel cup half way up my ankle or an inch of extra material bunched in the toe of my shoe

I've been on a sock binge lately and have been buying a lot of Anonymous Ism. Picked up another pair of Anonymous Ism, 2 pairs of Beams+ argyle socks and a Howlin by Morrison hat from Unionmade's sale

I keep forgetting to mention that I got some Alpaca blend socks for xmas. They are the most cofortable thing ever against your skin. Luxurious and have been performing as well as wool. I'm sold. These are 43 Alpaca, 42 Acrylic, 15 Nylon and run about $18. I also have a heavier pair.
Anwyays I'm comparing these to various Smart Wool and Darn Tough socks I own.

I also bought recently a couple pairs of Anonymous Ism socks and while I like the quality and patterns very much, the toe-seam is pretty bulky and not very comfortable with shoes, it rubs a lot on your feet. If that bothers you. On the other hand, the new Chups I got, with hand sewn toe-seams, are virtually seamless and a joy to wear, much comfortable.
