Just loaded up on more SmartWool and Darn Tough about two weeks back. Finality found a model of SW that I like almost as much as the DT.

I love SW a lot but their pricing's gotten out of control for me. I picked up a pair of Keen's a couple months back at Nordstrom Rack and liked them a lot - the seamless toes are great.

I only get on a good sale - same for DT. I got these last ones for I think 50% off on Black Friday. Ordered 5 or 6 pairs, so that's a good batch for the next year, 1.5 years. I wear them all year long - even in the heat so I put them though the ringer.

Nice, I used to have a pair of Nike socks for the gym that were L/R specific. Loved the way they fit and wondered why other manufacturers didn't do the same.

I have about 10 pairs of those--found a great deal on them @ Marshalls or TJ Maxx or something and I stocked up. I love L/R specific socks.

You have to try some to see what weight/styles you like best. I wear wool socks year 'round. Even when it's 100º out... Try www.socksaddict.com for sales...

Whatcha got? Bonus for US made.
I've been a SmartWool fan, but find Darn Tough last longer. What else is good for casual, wool socks?
Dress socks, this is where I struggle. Corgi are great, UK made and last a long time, but I haven't found a decent American made choice. Cole Haan are passable but not great, Pshcho Bunny are not worth the price. Hugo Bosscome in some great, ugly options but are Chinese made. Pantharella are fair, but thin and a little spendy for what you get. What's worth a look?

I've been looking at these guys www.dapperclassics.com mostly because I've found I like OTC socks for wearing around my office. I haven't gotten any yet, but they seem pretty solid. My SmartWool's wear out really fast, so I was going to go with Darn Tough for my next purchase to see if I could get them to last more than 1 winter.

I don't know, maybe darn tough are great for running and stuff, and I'm behind on sock news. Edit before posting: Looks like darn tough has expanded their selection since the last I looked, and now covers the gamut. Go buy Darn Tough Socks, everybody.

I'm no help with dress socks. I wear a suit about three times a year so the ones I have will last a long, long time. But I do prefer Punto (Italy) over pantharella.
For casual I've been wearing Kentwool for a couple years and have yet to wear any out. They are marketed to golfers. I don't golf but a good sock. I like the 19th hole collection for summer as they are lighter in weight. The tour standard makes good boot sock.
Icebreaker has well made socks, made in China.

i was a strong smartwool supporter for a few years, and still think they win the game in terms of variety/looks...especially the lifestyle line. but...almost every pair of smartwools i own start to wear thin at the heel/achilles area after a few months. for that reason i've switched over to darn tough. not as appealing stylistically speaking, but more comfortable and much longer lasting.
