This was my first pair of Japanese selvedge denim. I purchased these at a SuperDry clothing store in the Uk. about a year and a half ago. As my signature states I am a sucker for details!
At the time of this purchase. I have never seen a pair of jeans with so much thought put into them. The Thick leather patch full of detail. The riveted stress points and the details on the buttons and rivets. The silk screened pocket bags. The full tailoring on the inside of the waist band and the hang to dry loop. The selvedge edge detailing on the pockets. the chain stitched hem Etc. Granted this might be a little over-kill for some. I asked the sales clerk that was helping me If they knew what type of denim was used? I was told that is was cotton from Africa and milled in Japan. I think they said that the mill started with a "K".
Ok pretty good for a starter pair . I know much more about Denim and Japanese Denim mills today as apposed to a year ago. And I wonder Is this pair of jeans "Zimbabwe" cotton milled at Kaihara or Kuroki ?! Was I that lucky in choosing this pair?!. I do know for-sure that the denim is almost silky feeling and soft. and that I love wearing them. I use these as my more dressy pair of jeans. so I don't wear them a great deal. maybe twice a month. If wore these at work I would destroy them in a short time. Has anyone else ever heard of this denim company besides me ? I have never seen them in the U.S.A.?<br>
