Indigo Ticking Stripe Shirt looks beautiful. I'd definitely suggest that over Postal HB. Man, I don't know, that Postal HB shirt looks pretty effin sweet. Everyone that has that fabric has said nothing but good things about it. I also have to say that the fit pics in the campaign of the H Boner look very good and I'm thinking a Medium classic will give me a similar fit.

You could go phb and then pick up the ticker if it hits inventory after shipping, but it'll cost you like $40. I thought you were pushing a classic xl in Gustin shirts, though.

I am a classic XL in the GUSTIN button downs but the GUSTIN work shirts are a completely different animal when it comes to sizing.

Got my Italy BrownXBlack WS today and it's pretty damn nice I must say, and the non denim/indigo fabric will be a lot more versatile for me. I ordered a slim XL which ends up being a bit big on me but I didn't have time to change to slim L after I got my PHB in slim XL as Gustin had already shut down sizing changes on the BrownXBlack. No worries though. Both shirts are going to the tailor for a little tuck and shortening. ickes, I'd recommend a PHB from the new campaign if you're interested. It's truly a great shirt. I doubt I'll ever buy another Gustin WS (don't need any more) but the two I have are really favorites for me. I think I got lucky as some of the other fabrics/versions have been all over the map. As for sizing, no idea as my one G button down was sized "large" but was comically small on me prewash, at the small side of "in spec" with a super tight shoulder and chest. I think of you are XL in the button downs, an L WS might be best in the WS but man, tough call.

This kinda has me worried about sizing on a PHB WS that I ordered from the last time it ran. I'm a classic large in the other button downs so that's what I ordered as it was my first WS. You might see a classic large PHB WS up for sale if it doesn't work out. Supposed to ship next month although I'm not holding my breath.

Ok, so to further qualify my sizing: I wear a 42" shoulder but have a 40" chest and 34" waist. I don't work out, I was just kinda born in that triangle configuration that gets labled as "athletic fit". For this reason I should warn you I'm not a typical 6' 180lb - I'm the weight of a person with muscle (I'm "dense"!) and the suit measures of a person with muscle, but then when it comes time to button up a slim shirt I have the chest of a 150 pounder.
I started out with classic Large shirts but the day I got my CL trucker everything changed. I was shocked that the trucker, which I expect to be the most restrictively cut product in the lineup, was loose fitting. So I ran with it and tried a classic M chore coat, which was tight but buttonable on day one, and I've lost a few pounds since then, so now it's all good. Then I ordered a slim L shirt, but it was the orange plaid that was all mangled, so still not sure about that. Based on outerwear and the above work shirts I'm firmly decided on classic M being my ideal size. I'm still a little nervous about the button downs though over sleeve length. I've stuck with slim L for my future button downs so far.

I haven't experienced this with the workshirt. Just got the Italy brown x black in slim xl (wear classic large in the button down, this is the first slim xl that's worked out and made it to the door). after a wash and low tumble dry, I don't think I'd be able to get a medium buttoned. Medium seems to be the size that works best for Gustin, so if you can button it more power to you.
The thing I can't figure out is they have the same fit guide for both shirts yet they have different lengths.

The trucker is not snug fitting. It has a kind of a blousy fit in the back.

I'll have a M trucker here tomorrow to compare, I'm really hoping to get a snug fit. Maybe it's just me, but the "exactly the size of my midsection" fit is what I wanted.

The thing I can't figure out is they have the same fit guide for both shirts yet they have different lengths. I don't have any of the G workshirts, so take this with a grain of salt, but... Based on the various fit reports here, and especially felizuno's series of pics, it seems like fit guide specs for the workshirts correspond more closely to post-wash measurements rather than what you get straight out of the bag. G knows that most of those workshirt fabrics are going to shrink, so they're erring on the side of larger when having them sewn up. Which is, in my view, exactly the right thing to do. A workshirt that's a little too big is still a workshirt you can work in. Too small is no bueno. I'm guessing they really, really didn't want a tsunami of complaints a few months down the line from guys who'd put some serious wear on their shirts, washed them, and suddenly ended up with a shirt they could no longer get into. It would be good of them to clarify this if that's the case, because it's inconsistent with the sizing on the button-downs. Those generally seem to sew up at spec or smaller, and the three I have didn't shrink much at all in the wash.

Just a quick update that my Wabisabi Work shirt in size M does not come out good from the tailor. She took in the waist and it is much better now but the length at the back is just too long. The shirt looks like a mess. The tailor is willing to shorten it for another $30 because of the stitching and I just gave her the go ahead. Not a happy camper. I should stay with my gut to get rid of it, even with the nice Wabisabi fabric. Stupid me AGAIN.
I will post the fit picture after I get this back from her. Will be the week after next.

Hey anybody with Union Blues want to post a pic of them next to a more known fabric? I'm tempted to get the WS, but feel like I would have to sell my Cone WS or else just be the guy with too many denim shirts.
Opinions?

When I get home in in about 3 1/2 hours I'll post my thoughts and some potato cam pics

Tracking info said they were out for delivery today so I'm not sure what the deal is. Maybe tomorrow.

There's gotta be at least one person who buys Gustin gear with a decent DSLR. Has the DSLR trend gone by the wayside?

Has the DSLR trend gone by the wayside? I've never gone whole hog on a DSLR but I do have two Micro 4/3 cameras that I really like. They're more than I need for my level of skill, and I like the portability factor with them. To say nothing of the affordability factor compared to a DSLR.

cool, thanks. how do you like it? The fabric has a really unique depth to it ( see Gustin's flowery language). It's actually kind of hard to wear since it's stiff, the sizing was good, but I wanted to encourage the fabric to loosen up a bit, so I gave it a wash to pull a little out of the length and some stiffness out of the shoulders -- seriously, some of these heavier fabrics run a total Murphy Brown vibe. Anyway, if your monitor shows it has a yellow hue, then you're not getting an accurate representation. It's a deep high-quality swiss milk chocolate brown, on the cusp of dark. 10+ megapixel raw images of shirts seems a little hardcore, but I broke out the decent camera for a couple shots (sorry for how lazy they are, and for not doing fit pics), exported them to JPG, uploaded to imgur -- honestly the cell phone seems to be more accurate on the color, but I've done no post production on the images at all: Cell phone: Camera:

Has the DSLR trend gone by the wayside? I've got an NEX5, which is mirrorless SLR, but the issue is I don't find it worth the time to put an image through post production to share it, since there's limited reward to doing so. It takes about 45 times longer to take the picture, pull it off the card, import it into whatever, mess around with the color and exposure settings, then export and upload to imgur or wherever. I think it's less laziness and just lack of need to provide pro quality images to online pants friends.

While I'm takin pictures and stuff, this is what the wabisabi looks like after a wash, it seems to become a little more blue every time I wear it. Yep, curly collar, things gonna need an iron soon.
