Growing up in Austin, about 80 miles from SA., these have ALWAYS been common footwear for old people (no joke) and workwear for people of all ages (servers & kitchen staff, etc). I can't think of another pair of shoes that I've ever seen on my grandmother, and 100% of the 50+ crowd at my workplace wears them. I tell them all to get some Adidas Pureboosts, but they scoff at spending SAS-level money on an Adidas
