Good information gentleman. We will change shipping ASAP. as for the button I will use a high quality button. The true mother of pearl will be out of the current pricing structure but I would like to revisit that at another time. I agree that a better description of the fabric is important. I'm still up in the air about the names of the fabric. I'm a bit of a minimalist and like just the fact. The one benefit that naming the denims provides is that customers love referring to their jeans short-hand. For instance, Gustin people love referring to their 26oz. as THE BEASTS. It just, for some silly reasons, gives people more ownership or something weird like that. Because denim-heads are weird like that!

My current "problem" is that I find it hard to see what color a fabric really is. Im not always on a calbrated IPS monitor, and on this particular one im on now (althogh it is calibrated with a $500 sensor)is an old cheap one so almost all fabrics look black to me.
I find it very useful with the: - weight - name of mill - name of fabric-style (left hand twill etc) - what the color actually is <---this might seem unnessesary but to me its very important. If it says "dark indigo" then I know its indigo and not black. Right now this is my favourite part of the desciption togehter with the oz.
My wet dream would be a basic blue indigo, and have this fabric in the contrast of the item showed. It could be a third pic in the slideshow. This will show me no matter what the color-conditions are on the actual shot of the fabric and no matter what monitor im on, that it is so and so more/less purple/black then a standard american indigo blue.

Yes, I agree with Griffin on this . . . more important than naming the denims is a well-worded description of the denim. Not only do I want to know the things that Griffin pointed out, but I also want to know how it feels. Is it crisp, soft, or rigid? Does the weft show through prominently? Does it have vertical and/or horizontal grain? What might it look like when it wears in? Etc.
The problem with pictures only is that you lose the true color twice--once when you take the picture because the camera has a color bias, and the second time when it is displayed on the end-user's monitor.
Hope this helps.

Great Idea Griffin. Looks like we are going to be reshooting swatches next week. I hope to have all the description up soon as well. Any good writers out there that want to trade denim for content?

Sure. Would you ship out swatches for that, or are you looking for someone local who can come in and get a feel for the materials in-store?

roman, I'm happy to give it a whirl. I occasionally like to put my degree in fiction writing to good use. If you want to send me some swatches, I'll take a stab at it. Although you do run the risk of descriptions in the form of Haiku . . .

I think it would be a fun exercise.

good discussion guys. agree with others that the descriptives are more important than the name. the nickname factor doesn't come into play here as much as it might with Gustin, as there is no one same finished product that everyone will have/share. each will be different after personalized customizations are applied.

So if possible have a third picture with the swatch lying on ...lets say a levis 501 (or cone mills standard blue) new or washed a coupple of times, doesnt matter as long as you use this same piece against every other fabric. Im thinking the pic shows about 50/50 of the standard denim and the one offered.
Roman: I dont know if this is possible or if its a good solution, but I do know this; there has constantly been a "problem" with the gustin products, people expect one thing and get another, and sometimes its good, but sometimes bad. I think there is more to gain then to loose tho, since very often people say "wow if i knew THAT was the color I would have backed it". And right now I feel there is alot of "similar" denims on your site, but its probably just because I cant fully apreciate them.

I will reaffirm that all of the swatches you're seeing on Lawless are true to color. I appreciate that Roman's not using camera effects or artificial light. All natural lighting and it's been keeping the pics of swatches legit. All look the same in person. But +1 for comparison colors or added imagery.

Wishlist...You guys know my wish, I think Roman just might be the guy to make it happen one day...A Blue x Orange, Black x Purple, Black x Red, Black x almost any color, With contrast stitching the same color as the weft, and that plays right into the custom work Roman offers. And as someone else said (I forget who) Green! I need some green jeans...Mr Green Jeans is my avatar for a reason I hope that when he gets those Drapers fired up, It may happen. (crosses fingers)

Maybe if there were a option to choose different types of buttons meaning an option of different priced button . You can show a +$10 or whatever the difference is. At the same time the low price point will remain as an option.

I love this one & the Valley Hype video You also get a sneak peak of the work shirt which looks amazing in the chambray I believe its made out of Roman, the geeen selvedge denim shown in the second video, is that still available? That would make a killer Work Shirt with some black stitching and black snaps. I want!
