marauder do you already have them, or just ordered them? either way post up some photos and your thoughts on fit when you can. i really like the fabric and two tone contrast stitching of the 17oz, but dislike the flannel pocket bags. as for fit, the rise of the slim starts out very low (can't imagine how low it'll be after a soak)...which makes getting all of the buttons they cram into the small fly kind of a pain to fasten. the prices have been pretty good lately and i'd be tempted to get a pair of the 14oz in a heritage fit and see how slim i could get them after a hot soak.

@david I do have them as I went to the tate and yoko shop in Montreal and tried both the fits. I ended up getting the Heritage fit as it was a bit roomy, but after a soak should be perfect both in terms of rise and hips. That being said, I sit majority of the day and prefer slightly roomy upper block and comfort. I tried the slim fit and I had trouble getting into the jeans. The rise was low and tight to begin with and I'm not sure if it'd be wearable after a soak.
I would recommend sizing one up from your regular G fit to compensate for shrinkage after a soak. I ended up getting a 34 in them. They seem to be very solidly built and I'll post up some pics as soon as I can.

Tate&Yoko has a great deal on them. I've been tempted but decided to pass Yes, I had to pass too and it's worth mentioning why. The PaulRose denim is unsanforized and comes standard at only a 34" inseam. So if it shrinks only 1.5" after the first warm soak, the inseam is 32.5". That's really short. I don't know why they would use such a short standard inseam. It should be at least 36" for unsanforized denim and people can hem after soaking.

I'm wondering how it worked out for someone who owns a pair.

The 34" inseam works for me since I'm 5'11, but I passed on them because I have a preference for sanforized denim. I basically didn't want to play the guessing game with sizing
