Was time to change my avatar. The Walking Dead is the only TV show that I have watched religiously in a long time. House was my show before that. I do watch That Metal Show on VH1 also. A talk show about metal/hard rock music, love it. I try to not watch too much TV but had been suggested to try watching The Walking Dead into the second season by our video director at my work. He knew my taste and said I would like it. I started watching and ended up watching almost 2 seasons over a weekend, then I was hooked. Am all up to date now as the season ended a few weeks ago. It really isn't a TV show in the normal sense as they are like short movies. The production is great being the most watched Cable TV show for adults. It is even shot on 16mm film. Gives it a great look. I am not a zombie movie or even scary movie guy but The Walking Dead goes beyond all that and is just a great show and story. I won't give away the overall story but it is an adult show even though there isn't really even swearing/sex etc. There are a few scenes where it does get graphic with some brutal violence. The killing of zombies is more of a chore, it is how the humans deal with each other is where things get scary. The zombies of course do some killing too, but they are zombies and can usually be killed easily. I watch more movies/tv in the winter but if you are bored or sick etc and want to try a series, I suggest starting The Walking Dead from the top. You have to watch it in order. You will be hooked. Leader of a group of survivors on The Walking Dead, former sheriff Rick Grimes rocking a western shirt!

I've watched all of it, love it. Very much a drama with some action mixed in.

Gave up in the second season. I hated the show so much but it got its hooks in me. By this point, it's easily one of my favorite shows and some of the best television I've watched. I'm getting ready to go back through it once I finish re watching mad men from the beginning.

I love disaster movie/show/setting more then any other genre and I like horror movies/games, love games like Fallout and played alot of Resident evil/Silent hill before. Needles to say this show is one of the best ever.
The intro always give me goosbumps still.
Yes it has it problems like all shows and movies after they go over the middle line and I loved the beginning with the exploring of how/why/when/who etc, but still this has been a highlight of the week and I do feel (trying to be unbiased) that it has held its own, or in a better way of explaining it - grabbed itself up from the pitfalls during the years where many other series starts to go downwards in an never ending black hole like the Falling skies as one of the worst showcasing this behaviour.
I have a question tho, on the last Talking dead they said there is a spin-off serie coming from this, can anyone remember what the name is and do we have a date for it?

Gave up in the second season. Understandable. That - and season three - were the worst and very hard work at times, they just dragged. However, season four really picked up and season five has, I think, been the best so far.

Gave up in the second season. Why? The eternal stupidity of people in shows like this; I called it "The Talking Dead" for a reason. And I really wanted to like it too.

Gave up in the second season. Why? because season 2 was the worst of the bunch. I think it was because the writer's strike happened at this time. as such, the writing on the show suffered horribly.

I like the show for what it is, but prefer the graphic novel more. once you get over some of the annoying plot devices it can be entertaining. it still makes me laugh that several years into the zombie apocalypse Rick and his gang of survivors can still manage to find gas that actually works.

finally wrapped up watching season 5 and have started season 6. It's interesting to see Rick's arc and how he went from being the guy with some semblance of a moral compass to the guy who clearly suffers from ptsd and will kill anyone that poses a threat to him or his group. In that regard he almost seems just as bad as the Governor or the cannibals from Terminus.

I used to think Rick's clothes were pretty cool, but after a couple of seasons it started to come off as a cheap Levi's advert

I havent read the comic but in the show they have had this Neegan thing goin on for too long. He is amazing as an actor and the first few times it was creepy as hell seeing how he responded to different situations, but now I know exactly how he will respond, like if someone new oposes him he smiles and gives them compliments trying to make them see they can be their selves in his group but also cautioning them about whos the boss, its been done too many times and his death is really overdue. Its almost like a coupple of his miniboss goons are more dangerous then him now. I was very happy too see the the shootout starting in the last episode and not holding it off until after the break.
Still is a good show imo compared to much other stuff out there.

Im nearing the end of S6 and Neegan still hasnt made an appearance. I like the show but find that im losing interest.
An interesting side note, Danai Gurira who plays Michonne, went to college here in Minnesota. She was in school the same time as me. I graduated in '00 and she graduated in '01

That is so amazing! Did she have short hair? can't tell if you're joking but I have no clue. what I meant was, I went to a different university than her but we both attended college at the same time and our alma maters aren't that far from each other. she went to www.macalester.edu/.

anyway...
I finished S6 and already knew what the ending was going to be. It's funny how every season always seems to reveal villains that are worse than the previous ones -- first there's the Governor, then the Cannibals from Terminus, The Wolves who seemed to be shoehorned into the plot of S6 and now Negan. I like Carol but her arc toward the end of S6 is a little weird because now she doesn't want to be the lean, mean killing machine she's been for the last couple of seasons.

Hehe, but yeah I was serious about it being cool, but I really thought you were in the same school, that would have been fun.
