I'm not sold on artisan socks. Seems like you are spending big money for not a lot of real upgrade.

seems like a lot of people really like the maritime jacket. what's the deal? Not great at all IMO. I had one for about 20 minutes before I put it right back in the box and returned it.

Damn it. Reading this thread after some beers made me order the Blackwatch Yosemite -- I was going to resist, because I wanted it a little darker. Sigh! I resisted the Indigo Pyramid at least ... I'm annoyed that I didn't back the Swift Utility Shirt though. I wonder if they will ever consider re-stocking that. Oh I should just order a quality japanese workshirt, maybe Studio D'Artisan or Samurai.... TS seems to bring back the Utility Shirt every so often, and would assume you will see it again. They do change up the fabric though.

The new socks look nice - is $20 a pair a good deal? At $20 bucks a pop, I'd expect them to be wool. All cotton at that price is not going to happen here.

On the other hand, I have the TS navy Maritime, and like it a lot. Its a great cool/cold weather shirt, and can work well as an over shirt if inclined. Some don't care for the larger pockets, but I wear mine a lot doing outdoor excursions, and put stuff in them, so like the room, vs, being too small and non functional. Nothing fancy, but what I'd expect for a garment made to emulate a military piece.

We need a full disclosure with the ickes lives in Arizona. I will be giving the maritime a try this fall. I love my jcrew wallace and barns CPO.

It has a terrible boxy fit and large pockets oddly placed very low on the shirt.

My location has nothing to do with whether I liked it or not though. It has a terrible boxy fit and large pockets oddly placed very low on the shirt. Let me preface this by saying I love most things Taylor Stitch. Love love. That said, I backed a Maritime last year. When I got it, I realized it was a mistake. The buttons were hilariously large. The pockets were hilariously large. The pockets were too low on the chest. The fit was super boxy as ickes says. Bit it was also weirdly short. The hem was too wide. The fabric was ugly, even though it was Woolrich. It was an ugly shirt. It's a weird design. I won't be backing one ever again. LOL. And I too love my Wallace and Barnes CPO.

Personally. not sure how it looks any different in photos from the TS one aside from flaps. the difference between the two is in the fit and the materials. the apolis is leaps and bounds above TS's maritime in terms of both. the TS one is laughably bulky and unrefined. but i guess it depends on which look you're going after.

The Apolis also has pockets on the side. Not visible in that picture.
