So tell me guys..Should i throw my new Weirds in the washer(delicate cycle) then in the dryer for a few minutes(15-20), if i: 1)Dont care about fadez. 2)Want a little shrinkage, especially in inseam length. Am I crazy?? hot soak it will shrink the jeans better than washer. If you want more shrinkage, yeah I will dry it throughly with dryer.

Thanks guys. I was thinking in the washer just to make it easier.
Not sure how hot the soak should be. Tub faucet at its hottest likely enough?

Am I crazy?? button them and turn them inside out, and make sure they're not all bunched up when you put them into the dryer. unless someone has specific experience with the size and fabric you're playing with, it's a "washer beware" sort of situation. Consensus is that if they fit before they go in, they'll stretch back out pretty easily once you get them buttoned. The harder stretch points such as thighs and inseam will likely stay shrunk unless you have muscle-bound thighs you're flexing all the time. If you're not looking for a lot of shrink, though, you might just hang to dry as opposed to risking them getting too small in the dryer. Even if you don't care about "sick fades bruh", washer fades are a drag, and you don't want them. If you can adjust your spin cycle, go on the lowest speed -- you can even turn it off but they'll take longer to dry if they still have all the water in them.

Good points. I'll start with a soak. Then hang dry first, before my last resort of throwing them in the dryer.

Thanks guys. I was thinking in the washer just to make it easier. Not sure how hot the soak should be. Tub faucet at its hottest likely enough? What fabric are they? Hot hand wash with some agitation in the tub. You can even pour some hot water from a tea kettle etc to make hotter. I would not use a dryer if it is a thick fabric. Remember to agitate as is supposed to bring on more shrinkage. Washer and dryers can make strange looking fade lines depending on the fabric.

You will be safer with that fabric as opposed to say the E4 22oz as the thicker fabrics are more susceptible to creasing.

Cool. Thanks everyone. Gonna just soak them tomorrow and see how they turn out.

Thanks guys. I was thinking in the washer just to make it easier. Not sure how hot the soak should be. Tub faucet at its hottest likely enough? Yeah, the faucet at it hottest should be fine. It's not hot enough to do any damage to the fabric. Weight the jeans down with some bottles or anything you can use as a weight. I always warm / hot soak all my new raw denim. It gets rid of any chemicals and starch, it also softens up the fabric, shrinks and relaxes the fabric. Stiff and starchy fabric will produce better creasing when it fades, but being less supple affects it longevity.

N&F use vanity sizing too, don't they? Anyone have any issues with that? I'm a 36 true-waist, so I'd get a 34? I got the 10oz light blue weird guys and they do vanity sizing. A 35 Gustin fits me pretty good and a 37 Lawless and 36 Gustin are loose on me. I am 5'11.5" and weigh around 212. I also run. So my weight and running doesn't help with these fits. My N&F's are 34 and they fit wonky on me. The waist is on the loose side, the thighs are skin tight, calves are ok (I am not a fan of the taper). They are also tight on my butt. Even with only about 6 or 7 wears, the thinner 10oz material is starting to show signs of wear on the old butt seam stitching. True story. I don't have a huge butt, but whatever. Maybe I do. A lot of brahs here love the Naked and Famous but the cut just isn't for me. so that is my somewhat review of the one pair I ever bought and/or tried on. The color on the pair is awesome and I want that in my life, but it isn't meant to be. I also like the ridiculous naked girl patch on the back. I feel like a rebel wearing them in the office. Here is an amazon review of that same pair "Great jeans, but the fit requires smaller thighs than which i currently own. " weird, man

Wearing my E4 the very first time after a hot soak. Not a very enjoyable experience.
I had a hard time to put them on and also button the bottom 2 bottons. When I sat down to drive my car, the waist of the jeans are totally push against my stomach and with my phone in my pocket, I have a hard time to breathe in certain positions. Luckily, they do loosen up a bit already and I think after ten wears or so, they will be comfortable. I also see some phone fade and that is pretty quick after less than an hour of wear.

Wow not sure if im ready for 20+oz.'ers yet.
Update:
Did the warm soak on my Weirds in the tub late last night. Tried them on this afternoon. Can feel they're just slightly more snug in waist/top block areas, which was fine by me.
The bigger difference is the inseam which was my main mission to begin with. Seems like i lost close to an inch, and theyre now at about 33. Much more manageable with a small cuff and some stack. Mission accomplished for now.
Still want to taper almost an inch from knee to cuff. Otherwise im perfectly happy with this fit.

Heavy denim just takes a few wears to get used too. Tough it out.

5oz...interesting. Wondering how much is it. I normally shelf all my 12oz+ jeans during summer and definitely don't wear any jeans/pants that I cannot wash during hot season. Couple time I can "smell" the "denim head" while in restaurants and bars and they are disguising.

Have you guys noticed any inconsistencies with the weird guy fit across styles? I was checking the fit guide on blue Owls site and the weird guy fit seems to be different depending on the jeans. I was mainly looking at waist size and cuff opening.

Trust Blue Owl's measurements. But in general, N&F has a lot of sizing inconsistencies. They do vary by model- a lot really. Especially the unsanf. models.

I've never ordered from blue owl or self edge and they each have their own fit guide/measurements for each brand. They're never the same. So whose fit guide do I trust? For example, they both carry the 3sixteen shadow selvedge SL120x but they both have different measurements.

Trust Blue Owl over SE. You can get Blue Owl to measure a specific pair for you if you want. Just shoot them an email.

Nice. The crotch isn't looking good though for that short of time. Not sure what the owner was doing in them.

Looking good. Mad I missed the sale but I'm sure I'll survive. Maybe he bikes or some other form of work. I notice I'm hard on crotches.
