Here are some pics of my Elephant 4 weird guy fit 22oz super dark deep indigo warp with a black weft after a warm soak. I don't think I will need to hem them ya! Still new so they still have some puffiness in areas but should tame down with wear. Love the color. My Lawless IxI Western shirt after a warm soak also. Instead of Johnny Cash the man in black I am in the man in Indigo! I was considering getting the E4s. How do they compare to Gustin in sizing? I would say these in the weird guy fit is very similar to Gustin slim fit. I wear 30 in both. Very close to same measurements and fit. The front rise is higher on the N&F in measurements but actual fit seems about the same.

I believe they come in the weird guy fit and the skinny guy fit. I tried on the weird guy in size 30 as that's what the retailer had. I normally rock a 30 slim in G, and the fit was somewhat similar, but the NF weird guy was quite a bit looser in the thigh. Also really tight denim with this weight, I could barely get my hands in the pockets, but I'm sure they'd stretch with some work.

I was considering getting the E4s. How do they compare to Gustin in sizing? Unlike Gustin, Naked and famous is vanity sized. I have three pairs of N&F tag size 33 and they all have a 35 waist. Moreover, the Weird Guy fit is slightly different than the Gustin Slim Fit. Rise is lower, inseam shorter, and the thigh is slightly larger. However the E4 is a different animal, and I heard most people sized up from their usual N&F size. Be sure to check Blue Owl measurements, they're the best.

Hmm, two different opinions on sizing. Love the E4s,but I do have Cone Bluexblacks on the way. Might have to sell them, and get the E4s.

The specs on here www.blueowl.us/product/naked-and-famous-weird-guy-elephant-4-22oz-selvedge-denim-in-indigoblack/are accurate except for the waist on the 2 pair I bought. They are both 1" smaller than listed. 30 and 34 exactly. Sounds like they have some variance, as we see with other brands... as Bugula's 34 were right on spec if I recall. I wouldn't doubt if mine were at 31 now though after wearing for a while. Will check later.

But that's what makes them completely different animals devastitis. Saying they are the equivalent of a 22oz version of the Cone bluexblacks is like saying that Arnold Schwarzenegger is the equivalent of a 235 lb version of me. It's like saying they are the equivalent of a completely different version of the bluexblacks. Just that huge weight difference makes them completely different beasts, but dangit I wish they came with contrast stitching. Although I have heard that the weird guy fit is kind of...weird from several people.

I'll have to think about it though. Don't like to play around with sizing, especially since I pretty much got my fit down with Gustin.

They are the same as far as being both blue warp and black weft but the Gustin fabric is made in italy and described as soft the N&F E4 Japanese and stiff. I haven't seen any Gustin fades but if I recall are hard faders, I know the E4 gets the electric blue fades. Looking forward to that.

I have both, but I've just recently gotten down to a size where I can button the Italians. I can tell you the cones are hard as hell to fade, but I ran them through a cold wash at first, which tends to set color so I may have just ruined their fading potential with that. As far as this conversation goes, though, the italian and cone couldn't be more different, and just based on looks I would say the Cone is closer in appearance to the N&F, but neither are anywhere near the weight. For what it's worth, the Cone also feels heavier than the Italian, despite the numbers indicating the opposite (Gustin puts the Italian at 12, Cone at 11).

Tate + Yoko has $75 Mystery Denim and $75 Mystery shirts up for N&F for Boxing Day. I am going for the Slim guys because there is only 3 options you can get in a 34 or a 36 waist. THe Elephant 3 and Okayama Spirts are one of those. The only pair I wouldnt want that is part of those 3 is the Brown chino's shop.tateandyoko.com/collections/sale

Took a chance on this deal, and got 'em in today. Looks like I got the White/Black and Midnight (IndigoxBlack), both in Wierd Guy. Guessed on the sizing, so hopefully I haven't blown two bills.

interesting catch Sal!
I've never bought NF before but is the thigh measurement the same as with Gustins? 2" from crotch?

YEs should be but if not then they measures from the crotch which would be a smaller measurement which gives you a thigh that is larger in reality. I chose a 36 so the thigh on those is 13 inches. Thats my thigh anyhow. The N&F slims are bigger than the G slims

I got the Scratch and Sniff Raspberry that time around.

The Midnight looks like a good one. If you have lots of warm weather the white/black could work. They have too many colored/weird fabrics to do a grab bag for me.

"Lots" isn't how I'd describe our warm weather. It could still work, but I won't hold my breath.

OK, so taking the risk seems to have worked out. I hot washed the white/black pair since I totally flubbed the sizing and was swimming in a size 36. After a hang dry, the waist is just about perfect and the leg shrunk up a ton (2-3"). Next time, I'll go down a size.

Initially wanted E4's for the weight, but now I think I'm leaning towards the Heavy Soft 19's for the contrasting stitching, but the E3 weft is killer. So in summary, I apparenty need all three, or none. Shit.
