I assumed that it was designed this way and that's why I didn't order it. The pics on the TS website have pockets that are clearly not aligned. They may have been going for the "I shovel coal on a steam locomotive and my wife makes all of my workwear" look. Ha! This is excellent pocket alignment talk.

The tops of the pockets look aligned, however, the flap on the left pocket is not aligned with the top of the right patch pocket, creating the imbalance. A good reason to not mix and match pocket styles.

The opposite of wobble-pockets, how do people feel about the new Cotton/Linen Hyde shirts in the workshop? I think I like it but the lack of details on it (french placket as opposed to applied, mostly) have me hesitant. I think it's that it makes the model look weird in every one of the images.

I'm more concerned about that red welt on his neck. Tough modeling gig. TS apparently strangles models.

I wouldn't know when to wear it. Buttoned all the way up looks really awkward, yet unbuttoned it looks awkward as well, only slightly less awkward.

Edit - Being a Cotton/Linen blend, its suppose to be a light hot summer shirt. isn't that the point of being simple. . It looks light enough to almost see through.

This shirt has a French placket, the Gustin style, for example, is an applied placket. I think the high arm-holes are working against the shirt and accentuating the tall collar. Maybe if he had it untucked and they had styled it more "summery" as they allude to in the description (like with the rolled chambray chinos) that it would make more sense. That could be why they were strangling him.

I own tons of french placket Ben Sherman shirts and wear them often. I think it looks fine buttoned up.

Can't do a French placket, just seems unfinished.

The tops of the pockets look aligned... if by tops you mean something completely other than tops or bottoms then yes, i agree with you.

I'm going for the charcoal version. The French placket freaks me out a little but I think with sleeves rolled up and some well faded denim it will work. When I was 17, older women freaked me out a little until this one time.....
I really like Taylor Stitch but still, screw them for continuously not providing shoulder measurements, I need a shirt with an XL shoulder and sleeves and L measurements everywhere else. Pretty much any shirt I buy ends up at the taylor for an adjustment. put.up.the.f!@king.shoulder.spec.you.gits
Rolling the dice on a 42.....

I'm 6'2", about 210#, 44+" chest, and a true 36" waist. Shoulder wise, I feel most comfortable with 21"(+/- .5"). In that shoulder range, a 26.5" sleeve is optimum. For reference, the ticking stripe utility I recently received has a shoulder just shy of 21", with 26.5" sleeves. Almost perfect. It's a size 44.

I would size up @stevekas I found they run a little trim for the Yosemite at least. I went up from a 40 to 42.

scooter and brentkuz, thanks for the input. After some thought, I'm going to bump up to a 44. I've got TS stuff in both 42 and 44 and the 42 is on the hairy edge of working.

If they start using "buttery" and "gauze like" I'll be worried.
Taylor Stitch x Gustin cross over?

Should we start a "New Drops" thread on the Taylor Stitch board fellas or should we just continue to do what we are doing by posting new drops here?

The short sleeve floral is badass. I like the blue version. Those shorts are pretty damned short though.

I vote for a new drops thread. They seem to drop something new once or twice a week, and have older workshop orders drop once or so a week. We'll have a steady stream of things to talk about. I was actually considering making a new drops thread, but I haven't seen anything I liked the past few weeks.
