Nice price on the selvedge chambray in the Workshop. Railroad stripe is nice. Digging the fabrics a lot, but the shirt design strikes me as an odd combination of features. Overall cut seems pretty workshirt-y, with a fairly rugged range of fabrics to match. Ditto the pen slot detail on the button flap pocket. But then you get a button-down collar, and no second pocket on the chest. Seems a little incongruent with the rest of the design. If they gave these chambrays a design more like the Glacier shirt or even the Everyday Cali Chambrays or the Mechanic shirts, I'd be all over it.

I think they would look better with black or white buttons--especially the two blue ones. The red one would look better with white buttons.

Agreed, a second pocket would make me much happier.

I've been thinking about trying a TS shirt. Their style seems great and I've heard good things about the quality. Can anyone speak to the quality of the fabric compared to Gustin at the same price point?

Can anyone speak to the quality of the fabric compared to Gustin at the same price point? Like Ickes asked, which shirt? They have recently added the "Work Shop" which is crowd source. This has made there prices better. Also check there "Last Call", some good deals can be had there. I find the sizing to be better then Gustins.

I was thinking about the indigo star jack or the moss engineer shirt. I was kind of asking in general though. Do they use good fabrics from good mills? Not that something has to be made in Okayama to be worthy of wearing or anything like that but it's good to know that your material isn't made in the banana republic.

Bro my Yosemite chamois fabric is amazing. The best chamois I have ever owned. Blows LL bean, woolrich and lands end away 10x.
That is my only item from TS. The canvas mechanic shirt is in the works. The chambray looks awesome man I need to hold off. Saving money sucks.

Yeah they use nice fabrics but I am not sure of the source other than certain shirts that use the Portuguese mill. If the fabric is sourced from the Portuguese mill they will state it in the product description though. The Yosemite shirt is sourced from the Portuguese mill (which is a very nice shirt and fabric as brent stated) and their Crater shirts were also sourced from the Portuguese mill which are also very nice flannels. Honestly I don't think their fabrics are amazing or anything other than the ones sourced from the Portuguese mill and a few other collaborations they have done (Glacier shirts, etc.... )

It's the Fit and Cut that has me most sold on TS. Doesn't matter how nice the fabric is, if it doesn't fit or the cut/style is not right (Gustins Scoops are to much) your not going to enjoy the shirt. Hell, one of my most used shirts is a Wrangler from Walmart that I pair $8 for. It just fits perfect. TS just fits right. As far as fabrics go. I have the Sanded canvas machanics, Railroad stripe, and a MoleSkin, All I'm very happy with. I do have a light red checked shirt (got of ebay for sizing) that I'm not to impressed with. Just not much life to the fabric. I like that TS takes some vintage styling (railroad stripe, acorn pockets, triple needle, pencil slot, etc), but doesn't take it over the top. Puts it together on a modern cut/style.

I agree that the shirts I have from TS are very good quality, and the fit works very well for me. I have a denim utility shirt sourced from Nisshinbo Mills (Japan), Japan twill Highland shirt, Italian slub chambray, and wool CPO sourced from Italy. All high quality reputable sources.
To me, TS offers better products, at lower price points than Gustin, oh yea, and you don't have to wait, unless you purchase from the workshop, and you still get it faster.

Just wanted to mention this a few days ago but forgot to, but I received a small envelope type package in the mail the other day (similar to the ones Gustin uses to ship their simple wallets) from Taylor Stitch. I grabbed it out of the mailbox and I'm thinking, "what the hell is this? I didn't order anything from TS". So I open it up and its a Thank you letter from TS saying thank you for making 2014 their best year yet. At the bottom of the letter was a coupon code for 20% off my next purchase. Pretty sweet. Nice CS Taylor Stitch.

At least the Guy at Walmart says Hi to me and points me to where I can find the Murrys Hair Pomade

I struggle to take shirt pics that make it look as good as it looks. I ended up going with a 40 because I wanted a nice, neat, tailored look instead of a sloppy weekend bacon-stained sweatshirt look. It fits and looks good, but I will say that the material has pretty much no stretch to it horizontally. None. So if you buy this expecting a little give or expecting it to loosen up, go with the next size up.
