Okay, maybe I should move it down to a 40. The only thing that worries me is the stomach at 41" stinky what's your true waist measurement? If you'd like I can measure the stomach on my mechanics shirt when I get home tonight.

If you'd like I can measure the stomach on my mechanics shirt when I get home tonight. 35ish. I'd love it if you would do that for me. I wear 34 slims in G and 35 slim LD. Given your workout regimen, I'd guess that you are much more fit in the stomach region than me. as you know, I have been coveting the shirt for a long time. I want it to fit, but I don't want it to fit like a garbage bag. Thanks for your help. And for getting me hooked on the shirt.

Moss Mechanic Shirt backed. Have the black one already and it's a great shirt.

After hemming and hawing for a while, I finally caved and went for the black mechanic and the ticking striped utility. It's my first Taylor Stitch purchase (and first clothes purchase for the new year), so we'll see if I chose the correct size in two months (and if I stay the same size in two months).

I'm in the same boat. I backed the ticking stripe, last week. I had hoped to get it before backing again. But, all the buzz about these has me pulling the trigger on the moss, as well. Knowing TS has a user friendly return policy definitely made it an easy decision, though.

Thanks! This is a hard decision for me! What's your height, weight, measurements, G size, and all that stuff? I'm 6'2" and 180 lbs. My chest is 42". My G slim large is almost exactly 22" across, and it's a bit too tight in the chest. (When I inhale, it stretches.) My best fitting shirt is like 23" across the chest and has a 19" waist. I also have pretty narrow shoulders, so I'm a weird shape. So I was thinking size 40, but if the chest is too small, then it's no good.

So I was thinking size 40, but if the chest is too small, then it's no good. And I have long arms, so the size 42 arm length is better for me. Go with the 42. I have several TS shirts, and most of them shrink a little bit in the first wash (cold cycle, hang dry for me) despite what the copy might say about them being pre-shrunk. As a general rule of thumb with TS, I would say err on the side of the larger size if you're in any doubt. They cut their shirts slimmer through the torso and waist than Gustin does, so you aren't at as much risk of the mumu effect if you "size up". FWIW, I am 6'4" 190-195 with a 43" chest and 19-19.5" shoulder and I wear a 44. Long arms too, so I need that extra sleeve length. I tried a 42 once (in the Hyde shirts) and it has not ended well.

So I was thinking size 40, but if the chest is too small, then it's no good. TS sizing really depends on the shirt. My chest measures 38.5". I wear a 40 in TS glacier shirts and they fit me very well. The chest may be about a half inch to an inch to big to really call it slim fit, but it looks good on me. I tried a 38 and it was just too tight. It'd be great if I didn't have to move, but otherwise, way too small. However, I have one of their old triple needle denim utility shirts in a size 38 and it fits me perfect. I would say you should go with the 42. The shirt may shrink just a little, and I think the 40 would be just a little tight on you. If your chest is 42", that 44" in a 7 oz fabric might be hard to move around in with only 2" of clearance. Here are some fit pics. The bottom one is the Glacier shirt in a size 40 (chest measures 43.5ish"), the top is the triple needle utility shirt (chest measures 42ish") My chest measures 38.5". Hope this helps!

Maybe I should just guess and bother their CS.
