I'm looking for the perfect WS. Most likely if its a perfect fit and allows movement, then I'd be willing to pay $250. I'd be spending 10 hour days in it, couple times a week. I'm thinking the IH heavy chambray might be the one.

Hmm..I wouldn't pay IHUK prices, ~$200, for a non-bespoke shirt.

Not sure where else to post, but this is IH related. I'm in Hamburg for work and am planning to visit Vader & Sohn on Wednesday. If anyone is interested I'm willing to pick up anything and bring it back to the states with me. Mostly I want to see the IH collab coat in person. Let me know here or on PM if you get a hankering for anything!

I'm thinking the IH heavy chambray might be the one. The price on that guy is good if you can fit into an XL and go to Rakuten. Otherwise I'd prolly look over the Sugar Cane stuff available there (I think they run a bit bigger), the workshirts tend to run about $90-120, and if I'm remembering right you're the one that was looking for something with buttons not snaps. I don't know if I've seen a Sugar Cane offering with snaps. Also, Momotaro makes a lot of denim shirts that'll hit well within your price-point. I mention these two as they tend to swing towards workshirt more than western in the same way that IH swings more western and less workshirt. At the same time, though, I'm afraid of getting shanked for not saying "buy the Iron Heart and pay however much it takes". I just mention these others as you're gonna find a bit more variety and far more denim offerings that aren't western.

But here's my point about Rakuten vs IHUK, to keep it simple, let's use the Waldo shirt, IHTB-01. RodeoBros lists it as ¥9,800JPY without tax, so $79. You'll pay some shipping from RB, but they're reasonable and it's by weight, so say $20 worst case to the east coast. IHUK has the same shirt for £115GBP, which directly translates to $179. They sell it for $175, but just reducing it by 20% for the VAT that we won't need to lay (and that IHUK certainly won't), it should be $143. Still expensive, but it's been imported to the UK, so that's not IHUK's fault. But as a consumer, you really should at least be wondering where the VAT surcharge is going, or diligently shopping Rakuten. Sorry to drag SE into this, they just seem to follow the BiG pricing model but are USs based. I guess I just assumed that buying from IHUK, and sending to the States, they would take off the VAT. I've bought a few items from Germany, and Pike brothers doesn't charge the tax to non-Europeans. It seems like anytime I look for a shirt through a Japanese vendor, they never have my size, as most don't make them large enough, and the IH XXXLs seem like they are always in short supply. I don't care for the fact that SE, will only give store credit if you need to return, because they have a very limited supply of shirts large enough. I am looking to pick up a couple of Buzz Rickson chambrays, but History Preseveration is out of my size until Sept, and can't find any through Rodeo Bros, etc. Selfedge has the older style, which are much baggier than the latest version, for $160, whereas HP sells them for $90, plus shipping.

davelewis & Old26...I'm w/ ickes re. Iron Heart, in general...but think it's a drag that their tops, like so many brands, aren't available for the big fellas. I can recommend indigofera for the great quality of their shirts...which are pricey...and they cater for big men too.

I usually take a large in most things, even though I'm technically a medium, just because I like a LIIITLE breathing room, and so I ordered a large in my IH 10-oz. chambray and thought "well, it'll be a little large but that's ok." WOAH. I am glad I consulted their size chart before it shipped. I had to go up to an XL. From a medium to an XL. Ha.

Between the High Arm Holes and the Fitted/Smaller waist, you have to size up 1-3 sizes

Guess it really just comes down to body shapes & preferred fits. I take XL in just about everything - except Indigofera tops/shirts in which I'm a Large. 40 years of swimming have resulted in a relatively broad back & shoulders for my size & weight (5'9", 165lbs, 42" chest)...slightly neanderthal, I guess, w/ a 17-17.5 collar but I also prefer the collar to be a little loose. Like you guys, I prefer a little space in the body - so XL is perfect for me. I always wash gentle, cold, inside-out & I've not noticed any shrinkage that doesn't stretch out again. Also noted that the indigo saturation (IHSH-62, wabash & IHSH-92, hairline duck) is maxxed so a LOT of wear & washes are required before overall fades start.

Welp...just got my IH633s in. The waist and length are perfection. The legs are a little bit less narrow than I prefer. They're a little loose around the leg from the knee down. Looser than I like. But the fabric is insane, and the length and waist are perfect. I still love them. And I'm sure when I give them a soak and/or wash after I wear the shit out of them, they'll shrink just a tiny bit. Enough for the leg looseness to be negligible. Glad I popped for them.

glad you like them whiskeyriver. The 633s cut is perfection IMO and that 21oz pair you just got is on my radar...has been for a while actually. You got a good deal on those man. nice score. You're only going to love them more and more as you wear them.

At that weight, your tailor will likely laugh at you, but Railcar and AB Fits would have no issue tapering and hemming them.

They feel like they are all of 21 OZ. denim, but DON'T feel like it at the same time. I didn't think 21 OZ. would be so comfortable.

Could you post some measurements?. Waist, knee, cuff.. Also your thoughts on how they may stretch after some wear.

I'm still wearing these freaking things in the summer (granted it's only around the house and at night/morning running small errands, etc..) but they are insanely wearable and comfortable for a 20 oz (pre soak weight) Loomstate denim. If SelfEdge had another pair left in my size I seriously would have copped a second pair. Ok, so it's decided....after I get my two IH shirts in I just ordered and save up a bit more dough I'm copping the 21oz 633s.

whiskeyriver can you talk about the 21oz fabric a bit? I was told by Kiya at SelfEdge that the weft is actually an off white....not quite beige but not a typical white weft. Would you agree with that? DigDug I've read that you can easily get 1" of stretch on these...possibly 1.5"

Stuff by Naked and Famous that I own stretched right away. But I am sure they will eventually stretch some. But ickes seems to have read otherwise so we'll see on that front. Right now, not too stretchy. But they didn't really need to stretch as they fit me perfectly, and going a size down would have been a struggle to get on (and a lot more expensive! Ha ha.). ickes, they ARE off white. ALMOST beige. It's more like dirty, muddy white, which is very, very cool.

^ Exactly, it's basically the natural unbleached color of a cotton variety that wasn't selectively bred for whiteness. It's like how cotton is supposed to be only much better.
