$150-200 ok , $200+ I'm not so sure. Maybe one shirt at $300 could be rationalized.

$150-200 ok , $200+ I'm not so sure. When casual shirts start to surpass the price of a Seville Row made Sea Island shirt, I tune out. With the VAT discount and "discounted" pricing, I'd guess IHUK and SE are netting 80-100% on US orders these days.

$150-200 ok , $200+ I'm not so sure. A lot of their shirts don't do it for me honestly as I'm not a fan of the western style shirts so I somewhat agree. Also, 4 of the 5 IH shirts I have (not including the two I just ordered) were purchased off of Rakuten and were about 100 bucks or less so I have only paid 200 plus for one shirt. However, for the few that I do really like I will pay 200 plus if they aren't available in Japan.

The toilet paper would have to be buttery soft which as we all know, is only offered by G.

I don't know honestly....but I would guess that it isn't....maybe even below what other clothing companies net. I don't know what a Seville Row Sea Island shirt is, but it sounds fancy and sounds like something I would never wear. I think I might have the opposite philosophy as others at times when it comes to clothing....meaning I have a harder time spending top dollar on a pair of dress shoes, a suit, or any other more formal item that most would rather spend more money on because I would literally only wear those items a handful of times in my entire life. It's not that I don't understand the philosophy to spend good money on more formal items and it's not that I wouldn't, it's just harder for me. It makes more sense to me, or is easier for me, to spend good money on quality items that I will wear the shit out of and that will get better with age.

I mean that return on top of whatever their normal return is. Compared to buying UK or EU made goods from the UK, where a US consumer doesn't have to pay for the UK retailer to import the items or pay the 20% VAT, many items are cheaper than from US vendors.

I'm guessing from context it's a high end MTO company with high quality fabrics, in both formal and casual styles, and that they'll make a shirt that fits you like an absolute glove.

Nothing bespoke, just off the peg dress shirting in the best cotton. Made in the UK, in what many consider to be the best area to buy shirts. Jermyn Street is generally considered the ne plus ultra of men's dress shirting. Spending more than what a central London shirt shop charges for domestic labor and the best cotton just doesn't jive for me.
It's not fashionable, it's just quality. The only way I can see paying more is to accept that you're simply paying a fashion surcharge. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I just don't subscribe to it and honestly, given what Rakuten IH prices are, IH doesn't price themselves the way IHUK/SE translates to US customers either.

But here's my point about Rakuten vs IHUK, to keep it simple, let's use the Waldo shirt, IHTB-01.
RodeoBros lists it as ¥9,800JPY without tax, so $79. You'll pay some shipping from RB, but they're reasonable and it's by weight, so say $20 worst case to the east coast.
IHUK has the same shirt for £115GBP, which directly translates to $179. They sell it for $175, but just reducing it by 20% for the VAT that we won't need to lay (and that IHUK certainly won't), it should be $143.
Still expensive, but it's been imported to the UK, so that's not IHUK's fault.
But as a consumer, you really should at least be wondering where the VAT surcharge is going, or diligently shopping Rakuten.
Sorry to drag SE into this, they just seem to follow the BiG pricing model but are USs based.
