@untucked, wdw....ahhh, dangit...I spoke too soon. Shipping is NOT free. I went through the transaction last night, ordered the product, all thewhile the shipping said FREE. I wake up this morning to an emaik from them saying "reply to this email to accept shipping so we can ship your product''. Shipping cost me 1,680 JPY. @untucked how much is that? Either way I think I'm still cheaper than if I would have bought the thermal directly from IH Barely more than $10... Maybe $12ish. It's not much

Just lately, the exchange rate has really been swinging in favor of the $, and I haven't locked down the new math in my brain yet.

I am 3 for 3 on Rakuten Japanese clothing purchases. 1 denim western shirt from The Flat Head, one pair of Oni 20 oz secret denim and one Momotaro shirt. All shipped to my door inside of a week, well packaged and most definitely not counterfeit. It's tough. I want to support US retailers but paying DOUBLE for the exact same thing? I have kids and tons of real life expenses. I couldn't do it and still sleep at night. Were there any import fees etc?

If I'm sending to the USofA there is no import fee... I work on a military base, which counts as sovereign US soil. Huah!

one pair of Oni 20 oz secret denim Excellent taste, my man. Another place to get WAY cheaper pricing on all our favourite brands is here: www.denimio.com/I second the Denimio recommendation. I picked up a pair of Eternal 883’s via their rakuten portal. Free shipping to the States. My best fitting pair of jeans so far. Also had positive experiences with Earth Market (again via rakuten) for some Sugarcane and Buzz Rickson stuff.

of what @untucked, what did you get? IH-666-XHS 25oz of balls busting denim. CrossFit has out-grown me from my Sacksquashers, so I needed to fill my heavy denim void.

NICE!! I'm in the same boat as you. My recent workout and diet routine has subsequently resulted in me not being able to fit in to my Beasts (26 oz Gs for those that dont know) . Freakin bummer. I need to fill my 18 oz plus void as well. Maybe Rakuten is my answer

They are definitely far more inexpensive through Rakuten. Without any products in hand, I do love Lawless, but in the 20+oz realm, not many will argue against IH, so I went ahead and pulled the trigger.

Initial unboxing... These guys are great! I got a handwritten thank you note, a free hand towel and a calendar! Initial (rushed) fitting, I expected the 666 fit to be a lot more slim, but they do recommend an initial soak. I wll take some fit pics tonight, soak them, and then take more fit pics tomorrow.

Untucked. Good ol' Rodeo Bros! Picked up a few shirts from them. Great service... Before I found G, I had bought 5 pairs of Big John jeans (Rare x3, Ruri x2) and 1 pair of Samurai 21oz. The denim in those jeans is truly gorgeous but the Japanese "straight" fit is, for me, cool but I prefer a leaner style. I see Big John is now doing/has done a slimmer version of the "Rare" jeans...haven't checked if Samurai has done this, too (?)...I still love & wear those Japanese jeans occasionally (gave the Samurai's to a mate - a size too big for me). I've used rak for IH & FreeWheeler workshirts...I preferred the G slim straight fit jeans &, like you, I wanna get some of Roman's denims as soon as I can figure out my fit for L jeans & as soon as their new heavy denim machine is operational. Like you also, I like to mix it up (US & Japan brands etc) - so I do that w/ workshirts, as it suits me personally, from this point, to make all my jeans purchases US Made. Still a huge IH fan though & those 25'ers are the real deal, epic imo...I just hope you really dig the fit/cut after the soak...but, any case, I guess it'd be difficult to be bummed about owning IH 25oz denims.

Just for the record (Not that I particularly care) as you can see the hem line IS "off". The only reason I bothered photographing it is because I recall the IH crowd making a big fuss about G-denim construction while praising IronHeart like they are "25oz sweet baby Jeansus, sleeping peacefully in a manger with a kakishibu blanket"..... Other than this, with my limited knowledge, I can see that these are some SOLID jeans.

@untucked, for some reason I can't see your pics. Don't know if it's just me or not, but I can't see them.

@untucked, I like the fit. Some or most might say it's too baggy but I like it. Are you going to soak them? Are you getting them hemmed? What size are they?

No, one of each package was marked as a fabric sample or gift and the third slipped in with no fees. Interestingly, all the shops I dealt with asked that customers not request marking as a gift etc.

Untuck's fit is perfect for an IH especially if it is asking for a soak. I would not want to wear my IH for people to be mistaken them as a slim fit Nudie. They have their own style and overall feel.
